I had my phone stolen out of my purse on the dance floor last night, which seems to be a common occurrence based on many other reviews. None of the security or other staff would help me, I ended up just taking a small slip for their lost and found number. I am beyond heartbroken, I have lost years of irreplaceable photos and videos. I will never come to Rich's again, they have allowed this club to be a place where thievery is a common occurrence and I don't think anyone should accept this. People deserve to have a night out without having to worry if someone will pickpocket them and people deserve to be safe when they are drinking and vulnerable. Rich's is infested with experienced and organized pickpockets. At best, Rich's is incompetent, complicit and turning a blind eye but it is likely that someone is involved and allows this to continue. read more

WARNING -- YOU WILL GET ROOFIED HERE I dropped my girlfriend and her best friend off completely sober around 11 PM thinking they'd be safe. Less than ONE HOUR later I got a panicked call to pick them up because they suddenly could barely stand, lost feeling in their bodies, were disoriented, and had almost no awareness of what was happening around them. This was NOT normal drunk behavior. They did not arrive intoxicated, and there is no way the condition they were in happened naturally that fast. What terrified me most was when we got home, they were literally foaming at the mouth. That is NOT a normal reaction to casually drinking at a club. COVER YOUR DRINKS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET ROOFIED I have attempted to contact Rich's multiple times via phone and email regarding a terrifying incident that occurred this past weekend. Upon arrival, my friend and I were entirely coherent. Less than an hour later, we were unable to walk and have zero recollection of what occurred after the fact. Thankfully, our friend was able to find us and get us home. He spent half the night caring for us as we vomited/passed out/foamed at the mouth. We have ZERO memory of this. This is NOT a normal reaction to alcohol consumption, and we were not intoxicated enough to exhibit this kind of behavior. Though I am not accusing the staff or Rich's for being responsible for this, I am extremely disappointed at their lack of communication regarding this experience. All I'm asking is that they make themselves aware of this situation and take the precautions necessary to protect our community. It has taken a great physical, mental, and emotional toll on us. Last night July 18th, I know of at least 3 phones stolen out of women's purses. Security was no where to be found and were completely uninterested in helping. As I look at other reviews it is an obvious issue at this establishment and it appears management is doing absolutely nothing to fix the problem. I know of 6+ people (myself included) who have had their phones stolen out of their bags, pockets, and literally anywhere on them. There are also people outside with blacked-out license plates claiming to be drivers, and I was warned that they weren't. Not worth it to go here even with extensive precautions; security is absolutely horrible. I had a friend who was groped, and when I took the person who did it to security, they did nothing: no picture of their ID, no ban, no nothing. If I could sum it up and leave it at that, I would say that it was a decent experience. But we all that there is more to an experience than just a blanket statement. Let's begin here. We showed up at a decent hour, wasn't too early, wasn't too late. We were here to celebrate a friend's birthday. Got to the door and asked what was going on for the night. We were informed that it was DJs and a drag show. Told what the cover was, I want to say it was around $15 but if we wanted to we could do a VIP section. Usually when I hear this at the door, I'm a bit skeptically that they are about to price gouge me. But after listening to what we got, bottle service, mixers, our own spot to enjoy the night, and ample space to just enjoy ourselves. I was still on the edge but the group of people I came here with decided that it was a go for the VIP section. The doorman did kind of sum it up best, after paying the cover and two or three drinks, for the amount of people we had, we would be saving money. However, by the time that my group had made this decision I had already paid my cover. Then it was a comical scene of them trying to figure out what to do. I was literally tailing a drag queen who was holding my card hostage. They kept telling me to go inside and I was demanding to get my card back. Like I was going to let my card just be out there and have no way of getting it back. I did get it back, but only after getting the attention of a distracted drag queen. Before going in and after paying for VIP, we were arm-banded and guided to the VIP section. Our bottle and mixers showed up shortly there after and we starting to have a good time listening to the DJ and what not. Our group grew and shrunk as the night went on as our friends came and went. But let's talk about the show. We were led to believe that it was going to be a decent sized run...however, all it was was two songs by two different queens and that was that. They went back to playing music. I doubt I would pay a cover for two songs if we weren't in the VIP section. As the night drew on and the drinks kept flowing the music was amazing and this place got more and more crowded. It didn't hurt that this was the night of the start of Pride Month. The one thing I appreciated was the outdoor area because it can get hot in there. Also, it was a nice escape to take in a cigarette and people watch. A friend of mine was having a going away party and reserved the VIP section with bottle service. I thought I was a bit extra, but after that night I got some ideas. The VIP area sat above the main dance floor so I got to ppl watch all night. The music on this side was very EDM, so not really my vibe but I was ok with it. All in all not a bad spot, but not my scene. Came out to support a friend and had a good time. Went to Rich's to celebrate the Pride Kick-Off Party. Tonight featured performances by Kandy Muse and Jessica Wild from RuPaul's Allstars Season 8 as well as music from DJ John Joseph. The place was decorated beautifully for Pride and the music was booming and definitely kept people on the dance floor. Drinks here were somewhat expensive but that's what you have to expect at a club. Both bartenders we went to poured heavy and honestly we didn't have the same experience with watered down alcohol that other reviews have noted. Both were extremely friendly and efficient despite the number of people they had to serve. We were a little disappointed that Kandy and Jessica only performed one song each. It was a long wait for a somewhat short show. While we were happy to be there to see them it was a blink of the eye and they were finished. Rich's also had a large outdoor area which has different music and is more of a place to have conversations instead of dance. Overall it was a fun night. I only take them down a star due to the short show and a desire that they had mixed in some Reggaeton with the other music to give everyone some variety. read more

This is my favorite gay club/bar in Hillcrest. It really is more of a club than a bar. You get two rooms to dance in- a hip hop room and an EDM room. There is also a huge outdoor patio with some seating. You can get VIP tables in the EDM room and the outdoor patio. There's a coat check for a small 3$ charge and an entrance fee of about 15. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is the bathrooms. They are always pretty wet on the ground and dirty. I don't think they get cleaned until the end of the night. The ambiance is great and 95% gay boys. So if you're looking for a lesbian bar there's one across the street.. but still a way bigger dance floor here! read more

Decent little club with a big EDM room and a medium sized hip hop room. I like how ceilings are high and that the venue is on the bigger end with more music options. Tonight two of my friends and I had decided to go to Rich's, our favorite place to have fun together. A friend had a little too much to drink and was struggling to take care of herself in the bathroom, so our other friend and I rushed in to help. But this was proven difficult as the woman at the counter selling her services for hand soap and what not was actively pushing in the door and disrupting my friend's fight to privacy, as well as committing an act of sexual harassment and battery. The man in charge of guarding the bathroom also took his turn pushing in the door as my drunk friend was half naked. We explicitly told them she was not dressed and we were pushing against the door as this man and woman were both trying to push it in, threatening to call the cops? We told them to call the cops since obviously we were doing nothing illegal, but in fact THEY were. We (me and my other sober-minded friend) threatened to talk to our lawyers about the matter and then a female guard was brought in to escort us out. My sober friend and I had to actively push against the force of two of your employees to guard our fiend's body from being exposed without her consent. This was an immense invasion of privacy. As the counter lady was pushing the door in, she cited 'one person per stall' as her reason. This is not adequate reasoning considering the lack of signage indicating such, as well the physical force used. The physical force constitutes as battery on its own, and considering the circumstances, sexual harassment has its own case. I have endured bruises from trying to keep my friend's dignity that night by pushing against the stall door to keep it closed. This was frankly a traumatizing experience for everyone involved. I have reached out to both managers and have received no word back. So I'm here. read more

Called and made a reservation for an outdoor booth? Section? Either way, it was spacious and our host, Daniel, was great. Super personable and helpful! We all ordered drinks (except those of us driving, we got a c*ck pop- $5!). Drinks seemed to go over well with everyone- good flavor and very strong. There was a $5 cover to get into the club itself, and paying at the outdoor lounge also let us go to the front of the line! We came during a pop night, and the DJ was definitely bumping! It's definitely your standard club in that it was crowded, sweaty, loud music, flashing lights. But if that's your vibe- go for it! My friends and I had such a great time celebrating our gal's birthday! The birthday gift made reservations online and we were sat in front of the DJ booth, to be honest I really appreciate that there are bungalow style seating because it really makes getting drunk and having fun easier. We were a party of 12 and I appreciated that groups were spread out accordingly and that the team at Rich's were wearing masks and keeping us as safe as possible. Our first server was Daniel, he was really friendly, helped us get settled in. A group of four of us ordered the Mimosa Whore Wagon, which had 4 bottles of Mumm Champagne and a carafe of orange and pineapple juice. With tax it was around $200, $50 per person and truly worth it minus the sugar headache. For the Whore Wagons, you actually have the pay upfront instead of the end of your reservation. Which is nice because it helped separate our bills from the rest of table, you know how that can get having to split bills at the end of the night. Will, was a really nice frozen margarita vendor, he was selling Pops for $5 a piece, we got $5 and they kept us cool on this hot day. Then we had Bill, not sure if that was really his name. He sold jello shots at $2 a piece, we ended up getting around for the table, duh it was cheap and they were tasty! I wish the DJ was better but that's not Rich's fault, but we made our own fun. After Daniel took his break Madison took over, he was so so nice and really kind to us. After drinking 3 bottles, it was definitely time to order us food. I was starving, so I ordered a Nacho Daddy and a Gimme the Meat pizza. The pizza was the best pizza I had ever that sauce was so flavorful and the toppings were great! The nachos, I wish I could have saved it for my drunk self to eat at the end of the night. Overall such an amazing time to be back at Rich's. I was waiting in line with my friend to go into Rich's and the short, bald bouncer with the glasses snatched the water bottle from my friend's hand and was being rude about it when we told him that it was sealed but yet, he aggressively snatched it from our hands without saying anything and put into the trash can. my friend said that she didn't know that sealed water wasn't allowed and she said that she wanted to leave the area and finish the water because she had been drinking, and regardless the security guard took the water bottle from her hand and threw it in the trash. once again, she said that she needed the water and would leave if she couldn't enter with it, and literally dug it out of the trash so she could drink it. but he did not care and aggressively forced us forward into the crowd. we started crying because i could not even believe that such a disgusting, disrespectful , hateful human could be representing somewhere as welcoming and inclusive as Rich's read more
