A friend recommended this spot, and she did not miss!! I was so excited to try the fried green tomatoes, and they did not disappoint, such an amazing bite!!! :) The chicken and shrimp were so yummy after a day of swimming at the lake. It's counter service, so you order, get a number, and choose your own seats while you wait for your food. The staff was so sweet, and the cute NOLA theme inside made the whole experience even better. Definitely worth a stop and a return!!

The food and service is so good! Shout out to Ishmael for his recommendations on the hot honey chicken slider, the buffalo shrimp and ranch and the Mardi Gras punch drink. This is a great place in the Hyde Park area to happy hour lunch and dinner! Also, the ambience is very festive and very Mardi Gras.

came here on the first day of the snow storm for a much needed hearty lunch. given the super snowy weather, this place was pretty empty. it's quite a large and spacious venue and is self serve with their utensils and water station. this was my first time having a po boy, and it was overall delicious. i got the original shrimp po boy and it was delicious, flakey fried shrimp with the soft bread. my sister got the catfish po boy and it was delicious, the fish was perfectly tender and was so good with the sandwich. i did think the bread was a bit disappointing, it was kinda flat and didn't look like some of the photos i've seen online. but besides that, the sandwich was flavorful and texturally yummy. it was very expensive tho, $13 for just a 6 inch sandwich. we also got the fried green tomato, which was good but nothing crazy. the debris fries were just okay but the beef on top kinda tasted like it came from a can. overall, i thought the po boys were pretty good, but i think they were too expensive.

I came here because it was across from my hotel. I came during the evening cause I wanted to watch football. The vibe was definitely New Orleans. I wasn't sure what to get to drink. I asked the bartender and she stated most people got the Hurricane or Chatham Auxillery Punch. I decided on the Punch. It was good. I also ordered a shrimp po boy. Minus the spice it was good as well. I would return.

Circuses: Beautiful. Mardi Gras environment. Good music. Food: could have been warm at least. It was beautifully displayed but no seasoning. Door Person: pleasant. Informative of how and where to purchase food..and how to be seated. I suggest the chef come send someone in and see for himself. I posted on FB. I suggest the chef

So I've been to Daisy's maybe 4x, 3x in the last month. My first recent return was for happy hour, where I tried the Chatham drink and the sliders -- I fell in love. The service at the bar was amazing, and every experience I've had since, whether at the bar or in the dining room has been full of great service. The restaurant is New Orleans based, so their menu and atmosphere screams New Orleans. They have different art pieces that represent the culture for sure. The pricing also isn't bad and for the servings, flavor, and service -- it's worth every dime. Absolutely love this place and will be frequenting them often.

Very cool atmosphere, super friendly staff, and great Cajun food! Definitely recommend checking this spot out!

Gumbo, barley warm barley ediable. Flavors were really mottled. Reminded me of eating flavored mudd.middle. Tiny overpriced meal $45+!

I went in @6:15pm on a Thursday night. I ordered: 1 alligator po boy. It was barely warm. (As if it was stored under a heat lamp), alligator was not freshly fried, pieces of alligator consisted of thin strips , reminiscent of fried clam strips. I also ordered a small cup of the gumbo. Also, bearly warm and barely ediable flavors were off. For my drink, I ordered the pimps +ginger, tasted like ginger ale, and absolutely no alcohol! There are tables, but you have to walk up to a register and place your order. The whole experience was disappointing. Flavors off , food barely warm, boozless cocktail.

Came to this place on a Friday evening at about 9 PM. Because of the time that we arrived, we could only get takeout and sit in the reception area or outside. We weren't allowed to sit in the dining area as it was closing. Overall, very good experience when it came to the quality of food and the promptly getting our order. For food, we got the catfish Poboy and the Louisiana chicken sandwich with a side order of Cajun fries. I enjoyed my Louisiana chicken sandwich. It was spicy, and the ingredients were flavorful. My husband devoured his Poboy Catfish. I was impressed with the bread as that is a key ingredient for a Poboy. We were able to share the fries and they were plenty of them. I really wish I got a chance to try the red beans and rice but since we didn't have dedicated seating, I didn't want to be standing up and eating red beans and rice. They have the same establishment a little bit closer to where I live so I will be venturing to that location to try some more Louisiana food.

I ate my first hoagie in the car on my ride back to the home. It wasn't messy and was deliciously seasoned with condiments. I believe it was the corn beef. Yum. All-in all, enjoyed my hoagies. If in the area again, would try the Italian beef or one of the panini. With a recommendation like that, I was ready to try anything. Parking can be a challenge in Chicago, but they had a lot in the rear of the restaurant, which was nearly empty. I strolled around to the front and walked in. I wasn't ready for it to be a cafeteria-style eatery, but it really didn't matter. The ambience was kind of cute. Lots of black and white tiles for a retro feel and some historical pictures of the founder. I ordered the 1/2 sandwich and cup of soup lunch special. Matzah ball was my choice of soup and my half sandwich looked huge. I was ready. I tasted the soup first. The broth was clear, and the matzah ball was large. I like hard matzah balls and soft, so it didn't matter to me which it was. What surprised me was the lack of chicken soup flavor. The matzah ball was spongy and not particularly tasty. On to the sandwich. The first thing I noticed was that the carver didn't pull a chunk out of a steam cabinet. They had a slicing machine running constantly forming a mound from which the carver grabbed a handful of corned beef, then a handful of pastrami, which had already been sliced and griddled to add to the corned beef. I asked about the smallest size side of chopped liver they could offer and he gave me a tiny chilled dose sized cup of liver pulled out of the fridge. So far I wasn't impressed. The chopped liver tasted very good but it was hand chopped and in large pieces with very little schmaltz. The sandwhich wasn't anything special. Not hot, not piled and the pickle was a kosher dill, not a half sour. I left half of my half sandwich, the pickle (except for the one bite), and even some chopped liver. For the cost of this average lunch , I would have rather eaten at my favorite deli in Atlanta and had tongue which wasn't even on the menu at Manny's.
