I ordered the shrimp po boy, one biscuit and grabbed a bottled sweet tea ( they don't have drink products on hand such as brewed tea or soda). I thought the shrimp po was very good. It was nicely seasoned, came out within then minutes and had a good amount of shrimp. The biscuit was just okay, I wouldn't it again. You can get water by grabbing a glass and going to a table where there is a water jug. If you need ice, you can ask the bartender or the person who brings the food. You don't necessarily have a waiter. I would come again and try their homemade ice cream and banana pecan cake. Overall good experience. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. The chopped salad was good. I wish it were mixed instead of layered. The blackened cauliflower was tasty. The star of the meal was the red beans and rice. We ordered 6" fried shrimp and bbq shrimp po boys, Cajun seasoned fries and fried green tomatoes. Wanted a biscuit, but they didn't have any that day. The food was good, well cooked and seasoned. So I've been to Daisy's maybe 4x, 3x in the last month. My first recent return was for happy hour, where I tried the Chatham drink and the sliders -- I fell in love. The service at the bar was amazing, and every experience I've had since, whether at the bar or in the dining room has been full of great service. The restaurant is New Orleans based, so their menu and atmosphere screams New Orleans. They have different art pieces that represent the culture for sure. I'm always taking my friends who come to visit to this location. It's a little taste of Louisiana in the midwest. Street parking is tough but you'll want to find parking and explore the neighborhood. There are cute shops to visit after filling your belly here. An exceptional NOLA Cajun restaurant experience! A frozen Hurricane for starters reminded me of the daiquiri bars in New Orleans--strong and tasty. Came to this place on a Friday evening at about 9 PM. Because of the time that we arrived, we could only get takeout and sit in the reception area or outside. We weren't allowed to sit in the dining area as it was closing. Overall, very good experience when it came to the quality of food and the promptly getting our order. For food, we got the catfish Poboy and the Louisiana chicken sandwich with a side order of Cajun fries. I enjoyed my Louisiana chicken sandwich. It was spicy, and the ingredients were flavorful. My husband devoured his Poboy Catfish. I was impressed with the bread as that is a key ingredient for a Poboy. We were able to share the fries and they were plenty of them. I really wish I got a chance to try the red beans and rice but since we didn't have dedicated seating, I didn't want to be standing up and eating red beans and rice. I arrived closed to closing but staff was genuinely nice enough to allow my friends and I to order food. From the glance at the menu, the prices did not come to play so I knew the food was going to be bomb. We ordered three (3) fried 6" po boys in the flavors of oyster, shrimp and alligator. We opted out of sides. Take it as is. The food came quick so zero complaints there. Oyster and alligator: 3/10 do not recommend. If there was no labels on the packages, I would not have been able to tell the difference. No flavor but the crispiness was present. It very bland and a little tough to chew. Shrimp po boy: 10/10 best seller for sure. Everything from presentation to taste and texture was a hit. My issue with daisy is that we paid $57 for those three 6" po boys and left filled with more carbs than protein and no sides. That's quite blasphemous if you ask me. Consistency is a big deal - and I must say the gumbo and shrimp po-boys have changed since my original review. I am not a fan of the revamp. The shrimp in the gumbo didn't taste fully cooked, the gumbo is now more like a stew than a broth as originally pictured - and the cornmeal breading has been changed - for something less authentic tasting. Not a fan of this type of gumbo at all and I can make a better tasting Po-boy at home. And the canned crab meat topping - please stop. Once it was served to me cold - at least this time it was warmed - but this revamp overall is not better. Please go back to the original version. The service was excellent though! A much better replaced if you ask me. The set up pretty much stayed the same with the ordering counter directly to the left when entering the building. The dining area is very spacious and with a "Mardi Gras" theme. Service was also great. I ordered a Fried Shrimp Po Boy and a said of Vegan Red Beans & Rice. The Po Boy came with perfectly fried shrimp, mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickled. The shrimp tasted great and the sandwich was loaded with shrimp. The 6 inch is $12.99. A little on the pricey side for such a small sandwich, but worth every penny. I really wish I could have ordered their regular rice and beans w/ pork shank, but I couldn't because of lent. Been here quite a few times and it's good every single time. I was debating between two sandwiches and luckily it was happy hour so I got to try both of them as sliders so that was great! My friend got oysters and said they were good. Also, I've definitely ordered just the biscuits to go with pasta or something at home so a must try!
