    Marbelous cookie $3

Their Marbelous cookie ($3) always hit the right spot, still so delicious after all these years!!

This review is solely for the cookies! More than 15 years ago, I found the best cookies in Vancouver from Blue Chip Cafe in the old SUB building. My favorite is the Marbelous cookie. Back then the cookie was huge and chunky (and cheap). They are delicious especially when they're still warm. Flash forward to my recent visit to the campus. I was so happy that they still keep Marbelous cookie on their short menu. The cookie menu seems to be slimmed down. Being nostalgic, I ordered 6 of them so I could enjoy it at home too. The cookie seemed to be slightly thinner but the taste was still the same! - Marbelous cookie: very decadent chocolaty cookie but the white chocolate center gave a sweetness to the cookie. The cookie was slightly crispy on the outside but chewy on the inside - Smarties: my kid's fave because it had lots of smarties pieces. The cookie was chewy. It was a bit too sweet for me.

If you want to find one of the best cookies at the UBC campus, this the place to be. A classic favourite is the marbelous cookie. They have different options as well as far as baked goods go. You can find both savory and sweet. Also, they have hot beverages-- which would go well with the cookie you get! If you need a pick-me-up on campus, definitely stop by and check it out. You won't regret it!

Known for their freshly baked cookies, it's also a pretty good all-around cafe, although quality is a mixed bag depending on what you order. The great: most cookies, bagels and bagel sandwiches, date square. The good: muffins and loaves. The just okay: pre-made sandwiches and wraps, dessert bars besides the date square, butter mochi, and tiramisu. Do not recommend: sugar cookies or vegan cookie (but I think the vegan cookie has its fans so that might just be my taste). Aside from the cookies which are baked daily, many of the baked goods have been previously frozen, but they're fine as long as you don't get one that hasn't fully thawed (which has happened to me once). The coffee is more variable but generally pretty good, and I think the matcha latte is actually one of the best on campus (or at least the smoothest). Do not order an iced London fog/turmeric fog though - they tell you they can make it, but you will get a cold tea bag in watery milk, not a properly steeped iced tea latte. The students who work there are usually pretty friendly and the speed of service is reasonable even though the line gets long at lunchtime when school is in session. Like other AMS-owned outlets, you can not only bring your own drink cup but also bring your own food containers and save $.25 per item.

A really decent place to have breakfast or brunch with friends! Super nice staff and delicious coffee. They have non dairy milk option too!!!! Their cookies are really good. I also tried their egg and salsa wrap which is also delicious! A perfect vegetarian meal!!! I would def try their bagels and other food there!!!

Wow...huge line ups! They have a large variet of sweet offerings. I tried the gluten free quinoa brownie and i thought it was pretty good. The coffee I ordered was meh. Friendly service and super fast.. So don't worry about the line ups!

I LOVED their fresh baked Cookies!!! It was my first time trying the chocolate chip cookies and i really enjoyed it! Crispy and crunchy on the outside, it's not soggy inside and generous amount of chocolate chip! flavor and sweetness is very well balanced! Definitely recommend trying their cookies!

Literally the only place at UBC that has decent food. HIGHLY recommend their Blue Chip Cookies as well as their Turkey Brie Sandwich.

So technically this was dessert #3 over the course of not even an hour. The good thing is that this was not an overwhelmingly sweet or heavy dessert. It really went down with the same ease as just a regular mango would have, but it just had some extra (mostly natural) stuff. I'd happily enjoy this deliciousness on a regular basis if I lived in Vancouver. There were a ton of menu items that looked appealing, so I'm might even be their best customer.

As I love desserts, I was so excited to see Chinatown and visit this place for the first time. This place was located in an area that would be best to walk with a friend or a small group- I was not quite prepared to see and experience what was going on all around. Finally, we made it there and were glad to order some doughnuts. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by the sweet smell of doughnuts and the two friendly staff. Everything looked so good, so narrowing down our pick was very hard! At the end, we ordered two flavours- Matcha and Tiramisu. The matcha doughnut was soft and the filling was light yet full of matcha flavour that one would expect, I loved every bite! My friend had the tiramisu doughnut and she said that she enjoyed the fluffy texture of the dough and the creamy filling- it felt like eating tiramisu in a doughnut form. I'm from the Bay Area and we have our fair share of Japanese grocery stores (shout out to Niiya in Japantown in San Francisco) but I was very excited to see the selection here. They even had Japanese canned drinks stored hot like in Japan! The take away Japanese desserts also looked good. This place is right on Robson street so a great place to grab a snack, drink, pick me up while shopping. Prices seemed reasonable. One caveat is that it can get busy in here and the aisles are small so it felt a little crowded but that's sort of like Japan as well lol so not a big deal for me. Added to the ambience.
