I just started a new job on the first week of November (yay!) and while it's been weird starting a new job working remotely from home my new team was kind enough to send me a box of Cookies by George. Their office called me the day before delivery, confirming my delivery address and preferred time. This was really nice but did spoil the surprise a little, which I don't mind! Now I don't have much of a sweet tooth, especially for cookies, but their Macadamia nut cookies are SO good! I especially LOVE how the cookies are the perfect size and are so chewy and soft! I received a box of 13 assorted cookies and ended up eating 2 on the first day. I eventually gave the rest away but those who I shared my cookies with raved how delicious the cookies were plus I also inspired one of my friends to send a box of Cookies by George to someone. If you're looking to treat yourself, or someone else, would definitely recommend Cookies by George. They are a nice alternative, especially during the Holidays, to the traditional chocolate boxes. read more

No clue why Cookies By George is getting so much hate, I freaking love them. I think they're better than Subway cookies, and that's a very very very high compliment from me. So...I'm trying to eat really healthy and avoid sugar. Yada yada yada, boring boring. Anyways, my mom came back with a pack of these cookies and I caved and had 2. Sue me. All their cookies are baked fresh daily. They're soft, moist, chewy, and melt in your mouth. I tried both the chocolate chip and the double choclate chunk. Both were delicious and full of chocolate goodness. After the gym I also had a nibble (yes really, just a nibble) of the lemon cookie, which was equally yummy. Whatever, I earned it. I usually don't have the biggest sweet tooth, but I would've eaten the whole box if I could. Thank the universe that there isn't a Cookies By George closer to my house. read more

Its location in Royal Centre mall is very convenient, since it is directly on the way to our office if we are coming from Burrard Skytrain Station. The cookies are freshly baked, thick, relatively chunky, chewy, and rich in taste (ie, very sweet). They taste good, but nothing particularly special to rave about. My faves are the white chocolate chunk & the white chocolate macadamia ones. okay, holy Hannah Montana Cookies by George is delicious. Like the other reviews, get ready for decadent, light, chewy and crispy cookies (all in one bite!!!). Our department had received them as a gift so I am unfortunately unsure of pricing - however, after the taste test I would gladly endorse this product for gifts, celebratory occasions, break up remedies or just your regular own treat-yo-self kind of day! I thought the cookies were soft and tasty. You can't really have more than a few though, because they're real sweet and rich. Definitely taste like they're made same day. Smallish. Each cookie will run you about $1.50, but if you compare that to what they are selling at the Starbucks a few feet away, the price doesn't seem that bad. So decent, but no comparison to Blue Chip Cookies at UBC. Those guys are playing in a different league all together. If you come later in the afternoon, you'll find most of the cookies will be gone (see picture), so for the best selection come earlier. One thing that bothered me was that, on a recent visit, I ordered a half dozen cookies to have at home later (not just for me). The lady was stuffing the cookies in the paper slip bags when I asked if she could put it in a cardboard box. Nope. If I wanted a box for a half dozen, I'd have to buy one of the special red gift boxes that they put a bow ontop of as a gift. I pointed to the white cardboard boxes already assembled on the shelf behind her. Nope. I have to order 12 cookies to get the basic box, otherwse, all your cookies are going to be in a paper slip, that you could throw into a plastic bag. The cookies made it to their destination unharmed, but still, not cool that they would be so stingy about a cardboard box after I spent 9 bucks on pieces of dough that cost them pennies. read more

Cookies by George is a bit hidden since it's in Royal Centre so unless you work in the area, you might not know of the underground walkway/mall with a bunch of shops and food courts. The cookies here are baked fresh daily and are perfectly moist and chewy. My favourite is definitely the reverse almond chocolate chunk cookie, which is full of fresh crunchy almonds that add great texture to the dense cookie. The prices are a bit high here and it's a bit out of the way, but it's definitely worth the detour! read more

I love these cookies. Yes, they're greasy, much smaller than they use to be and "of course", the price has gone up. Today I purchased 3 cookies (you'll need to remember this, it's important); reverse almond, milk and classic. As the lady is bagging my cookies, I get out my wallet and my three cookie cards. Note: if you buy 12 cookies you get one cookie free but we'll get back to that. Only one of my cards had been stamped 12 times, yippee free cookie for me. I hand it to her she then tells me the price of 2 cookies. $3.91 please. After I get my change, I ask her to combine the two other cards. She does, then I had to ask her for 2 stamps for cookies I paid for. She stood there looking at me as though she didn't understand. I think once she realized I was serious and I was going nowhere until I got my 2 stamps, she took them and stamped them with a look of disgust! Why offer a rewards program if you don't want to honor it? To make matters worst there are all these rules around the cookie card. Note: if you buy a dozen cookies they will only give 6 stamps! Why? I suppose it's their policy but it's a crummy policy. I detest companies who offer a "rewards program" (rolling eyes) and then have ridiculous policies that only make you feel ripped off! Ever since the Metrotown & Denman locations of C by G closed, customer service went down the tubes. If I happen to be in Royal Centre, I'll drop in for a cookie, I WILL NOT be making any special trips. read more

I dare to say that these are even sweeter than Subway cookies. If you like sweet, soft/fluffy cookies, this is for you. But they're nicely displayed, a clean kiosk-like store. LOVE cookies by George!! The soft almost melted chocolate chunk in the middle is always the high light! They have so many different flavors from coffee infused to peanut butter with white to dark chocolate. Also really appreciate their gluten free options. Your gluten free friends always appreciate a delicious cookie!! The cookies are light and crisp on the outside but soft and chewy in the middle. I personally find them perfectly cooked. They are on the softer side. While you can get a coffee or tea these shops are for pick up and go kind of days. There are no tables and no parking lots but there are some incredible cookies! The people are very friendly and there are some other treat options like a nanaimo bar and carrot cake. But, these cooked are the best. read more

I used to pass by this little cookie shop all the time when I worked in the area. It smells heavenly and they look freshly made, but overall, my experience here was pretty "bleh". I got the chocolate and peanut butter cookie. Although it wasn't too pricey or anything, the quality was just alright. Nothing to write home about or anything. To be fair, they're made thick. Move over chips ahoy. If you like your cookies like I like my ladies, these cookies got curves. Chocolate varieties have a signature huge chocolate chunk in the centre. My favourite: oatmeal raisin. Not to sweet and nice and chewy. The place has been there for 20 years. It is a Vancouver staple even if you don't think of it like that. The lower rating is due to price and quality. As much as I recall it being amazing, I have to go with face value at time of review. Decent cookie, needs maybe a few more raisins and the price is high (the location probably speaks to that). Worth a try. read more

We had these cookies delivered to our office and they were good for that purpose. I found they were fresh and surely baked that day and looked very appealing but they were extremely heavy and most people at the office found them to be a little too much especially in size. Owner was extremely rude and yelled at me over the phone. I wanted to buy some white chocolate macadamia cookies for my friend and phoned in to see if they had any left since this was late in the afternoon. So I call and a chinese woman answers. She asks me what I want and I asked if she had any white chocolate macadamia cookies left. Immediately she raised her voice and said, "What do you mean if we have any left??" I'm like, "Do you have any left in stock?" but she proceeded to actuallly yell at me saying, "What do you mean?! We have a large dough of it! I don't know what you want!!" I proceeded to attempt to explain if she had any already baked and for sale but she spoke to someone else in chinese (I'm chinese so I understood) in an aggravated tone saying , "Come here and see what this guy wants, I don't know what he wants!" The other person never came and instead, she picked up the phone again and after a few more attempts (and her yelling at me everytime I asked a question), I finally got through to her. At the end, I thanked her but she replied with an annoyed mumble and hung up. I must stress that at no point did I raise my voice or antagonize her in any way. She was immediately hostile which caught me by surprise. I am unsure if she was having a bad day or what, but what happened was totally uncalled for. read more

I will admit that they do have the best chocolate chip cookies that just melt in your mouth. Too bad that this location is too tucked away.
