Wish there was a tart or spicy sauce to cut all the richness. Burgers $16 include fries which is nice. The burgers, although they are quality made - juicy and indulgent, are not my absolute favorite in Miami. The Jambalaya $23 was well made and all the expected flavors were there. The large glass windows and cute interior are inviting, but unfortunately our party of four had to sit outside. Several bugs decided to land in our drinks. We were lucky to arrive in the small parking lot before valet had a chance to set up. The manager or employee from the adjacent motel, which is being renovated, was nice enough to remove some cones blocking a spot so we could park. Otherwise, parking can be kind of tough. Awesome service and food. We went on a weekday At 3pm so it wasn't busy. Parked in the lot on the north side of building. We split the ragout sandwich which is multiple meats stewed in a tomato sauce and then shredded. It is put on a sesame roll and topped with mozzarella cheese. It's served with fresh cut French fries with the skin on them. The bread pudding is amazing. It's served warm with a side of cayenne pepper whipped cream....all homemade. The shrimp and grits comes with a good amount of shrimp, I was surprised, and it tasted fresh and good. My friends loved it. The Big Ragout was my boyfriends favorite, it was huge! The flavor and quality is on point, but I could only have one bite because it was very heavy for me, but it was very tasty! I recommend trying it if you come here. The Breakfast burrito was fresh and good, but I wouldn't get it again, the chipotle sour cream was a nice addition, but its literally just bacon egg and cheese in a tortilla, I would get something else here, they have so many interesting and unique items to try! So we arrived just before opening on a Tuesday night. Our waitress affirmed our decision to come early as she mentioned the crowd they would be expecting. Rightfully so. The food was amazing. We ordered the Mac, Vaca Frita Tostones, & the Big Ragout. I was super hungry when we arrived so the Big Ragout was "my" dish & we shared the Mac. The tostone was good. The orange mojo sauce wasn't overwhelming, which was a pleasant surprise. The Mac was DELICIOUS! We kept it unadulterated & ordered without any fix-ins. The Big Ragout was ginormous AND superb. The pulled meats were SO tender. The sauce was great. Note. I mentioned how hungry I was. When it arrived, I swore I was going to destroy the dish. Apparently, it packs a punch. My boyfriend and I ventured into the city for brunch on a lazy Sunday on a recent vacation in Miami Beach. We were very excited to try this place after all the rave reviews. When we arrived around noon, there was a group of people waiting outside the restaurant. The restaurant is attached to a small motel and seems a bit out of place with its valet area located central to the motel. We preferred to sit inside, so we put our names down on the wait and decided to wait outside with everyone else because the inside of the restaurant is incredibly small. We were told our wait would be about 30 minutes and luckily our table was ready in about 20 minutes. There were a few names called before ours and I think the patrons know to eat and keep it moving here because of the limited seating. I ordered their specialty iced coffee, which is pretty strong, be warned! They also have thermos of hot coffee available, and if the Miami weather were any cooler, I would have considered ordering one! My boyfriend and I KNEW we had to absolutely order the Mac (Cavatappi, Fontina, Cheddar, Parm Cheeses) because of all the great reviews, but neither of us wanted to eat that as our main, so we made a crazy decision to order that as a starter. It was absolutely worth it! I loved the combination of the three cheeses in the dish, and it arrives at your table as a beautiful masterpiece of white cheesy glory, still piping hot with lots of steam. The Mac is very creamy but not too heavy to handle and it's definitely worth ordering. Be warned, there are no "small" sides or portions of this, so be ready to go all in! We finished every bite. For my main, I ordered the Shrimp and Grits - Trugole Cheese, Neuske Bacon New Orleans style "BBQ" sauce. There are a few things I liked about this dish and a few things I didn't like: I liked the fresh shrimp and crawfish, and the bacon was a great added touch. I had trouble wrapping my mind around the New Orleans BBQ sauce at first, but it soon grew on me. I did not like the grits mainly because of the consistency. The grits reminded me more of mushy mashed potatoes than true grits--and as a girl born and raised in Georgia, I should know! The dish is also very salty and pretty greasy. I only picked at the seafood and barely touched my grits, but towards the end of my meal, I could see the grease covering my plate. The boyfriend ordered the Brandon's Breakfast: Pancakes, French Toast, Bacon, Sausage, Toast, Hash, Fruit Salad, all covered in delicious maple syrup! I knew he would order this the moment I saw it on the menu because a whole bunch of random breakfast food covered in maple syrup is totally his thing. He really enjoyed everything it had to offer and gave a heroic attempt to eat most of the dish. Service here meets the standard but is not extraordinary, I assume it's because they're accustomed to getting patrons in and out. This place is good, but overall it wasn't a wow experience for me, and I wouldn't jump at the $15 roundtrip Uber ride to from Miami Beach just to eat here. A few Monday's ago we decided to have dinner at Blue Collar. Place is small, you can sit inside and outside. Unfortunately we decided to seat inside and I say unfortunately because the kitchen is way to close to the tables so it gets uncomfortably hot and something that I don't love about a restaurant is when you walk out smelling like you were cooking for a few hours. Service is good but not amazing, drinks didn't come fast, refills, etc. the place is small so I didn't understand why this happened. They should put the same emphasis to service as much they put the attention to the food. We started with the vaca frita tostones. They were delicious plus I liked that there were small bites. Also we ordered crispy chicken, artichokes and Brussel sprouts... all very good! Made a reservation for Saturday night. I googled "best macaroni and cheese in Miami" and this place was on the list. The mac was pretty good - well sauced and cheesy. The spare ribs were super soft. The jambalaya was a little over seasoned and would have been better with something more bland. The atmosphere is super chill. Liked how the waiters all had tuxedo T-shirts. We came back here for a second time for lunch. It was kind a late and they were just finishing up brunch but they were kind enough to let us have lunch before they were getting ready for the dinner service. My girlfriend had the shrimp and grits which she said was very tasty and flavorful. And I had the big Ragout sandwich. It was similar to what I had last time which was a veal and pork Ragu on a toasted roll covered with cheese. It was absolutely delicious but was a lot so obviously I did not finish it but ate the other half the next day. I can't believe it took me this long to visit Blue Collar! It was delishhh! Seriously, I'm upset it took me this long to come to this tiny gem! First things first, parking is around the corner & to the side of the old motel, so once you figure that out, you're good. The host quickly greeted my friend and I, and then we were given the option of either indoor or outdoor dining. Since the indoor had a 20 minute wait, we opted for the outdoors. Within minutes of being seated the waitress greeted us with waters in hand, and recommended her favorite items since we told her we were first timers! With her recommendation, I ordered the Pulled Pork Benedict and my friend ordered the Duck McMuffin. The portion size was better than expected! I ate half of my delicious meal and got a to-go box for the rest which I ended up having a few hours later. For dessert, we tried the chocolate cake! Yumm! I'm a huge lover of Mignonette so I had to come here, plus I must admit I was a bit skeptical to see this place had over 1k ratings and a rating just as high as one of my all time favs, mignonette... but boy, this place did not disappoint. Next, we shared an order of the Ragout. The pasta is obviously home made and a bit al dente. Overall, i thought both the appretizer and main course were very good. But nothing, and i mean nothing, could've prepared me for what was to come.. dessert.. They offer three, but they really should only offer one.. The Bread Pudding. I dont think im overstating things when i tell you this is quite possibly the best restaurant dessert i have ever had. in my life. ever. My waiter warned me hot is very hot so I went the safe route and got it medium. The moment of truth came when they placed the plate down before me. It was very delicious and tender big pieces of stewed oxtail. Three large pieces and one small piece. The spice level was nice, it had some kick but without being overpowering or mercilessly uneatable. I was happy with the medium spice level. Blue Collar will always be top-notch for me. My rating is actually 4.5 and could've been a 5 star rating if it wasnt for two very important things, which ill cover in a few. I came on a Sat evening for an early dinner. The restaurants recently added on-site parking spots, so no worries there..easy parking and free! The outdoor patio is always nice, but all tables were taken. We decided to eat inside, which only has 1 other party. Social distancing of tables were in place. Been meaning to come here a long time and made it for lunch while on business in the area, which doesn't happen much given the area. I had the often-pictured "big ragout" sandwich with fries. Salad might have been a smarter choice given the size of this thing (I don't think it would be healthy to even try to eat the whole thing and all the fries). I like that they bring filtered water to the table, and a bottle of it, without all the pretension (and cost) of asking "sparkling or still?" The name is Blue Collar after all. The sandwich was good, but at the time of eating it I felt like the meat needed more seasoning. Later that day I realized how wrong I was: I was very dehydrated, meaning that the meat must be very salty without showing it. The bun was crisp without being hard, which must take a very deft hand, and the whole thing did NOT turn into a sloppy mess, which again shows a certain level of skill. There were a lot of sandwiches on the lunch menu here that sounded appealing, and if not for all the hype over the "big ragout" I may have tried the cheesesteak or "corben" (brisket, with a side of latkes instead of fries - an interesting change of pace). Blue collar would do well to offer half-sized portions of these monster sandwiches, but maybe the check would then be too low to be profitable. Maybe a food truck as a second branch? I'd give it a 3.5, but round up to a 4 on the basis that I'd probably be more of a fan of the other sandwich offerings, and look forward to a return visit to test that theory. read more

Love coming here for lunch and dinner. It taste like fancy home-made food, if that makes any sense. Everything taste fresh and too good to be healthy. Definitely a must try. Space is a bit tight both inside and out, but its worth the claustrophobia. read more

I met friends for dinner at Blue Collar a few weeks ago on a Tuesday night and was floored by how busy the restaurant was for a Tuesday night. There were three of us and we waited about twenty minutes for a table; thankfully, our meal we well-worth the wait. To start, we shared the grilled pears, the saffron arancini and the caramelized brussel sprouts. The pears were delicious and who would have thought brussel sprouts could taste so good?! My favorite (of course it had to be the fried dish) were the arancini. They were served in a delectable sauce. I couldn't get enough! The serving sizes of the appetizers weren't large at all so we didn't feel like we'd ordered too much. Besides, we wanted to try as much as we could in one visit. Our trio wasn't as adventurous in choosing entrees. We each ordered the grilled chicken which comes with two sides from the veggie chalkboard of your choosing.. I had the blue cheese grilled asparagus and the sweet potato plantain mash. Both were delicious. My friends both had the sweet potato mash but one had the buttered baby bok choy which she loved and the other had the roasted artichoke hearts which she hated. For dessert we shared the bread pudding which was also wonderful. We also shared a bottle of the Bigtime Malbec by Guggenheim /Argentina which was excellent! Overall, we had an excellent meal. The service was spot on and the food was perfect (all except for the artichoke hearts). I will definitely be returning to Blue Collar and cannot wait to try their brunch menu! read more
