    The Mojito is delicious
    Val G.

Stopped in here for a $5 Mojito and it turned into $10 Mojito because you can't have just ONE!. It was very good prepared by our bar tender that was super friendly. Suggested we try the Ox Tail soup but we had lunch just a few hours ago. Saw it served to another table and man did I want to try it. I guess I will have to come back. This place is in the middle of Little Havana or Calle Ocho. This is a great place to have a couple of Mojitos and watch the activity on the street. I highly recommend at least having a drink here. I plan to come hungry next time.

The weather in Miami was great that we decided to eat outside. No reservations is needed. The waiter was very helpful on helping with the menu. We end up getting The Trio cubano with white rice, sweet plantains, yucan... To drink, mojito and passion fruit juice. The food was delicious. Definitely, recommend this place in calle ocho.

This place is in the heart of Little Havana where most food is catered to tourists, which usually means overpriced and under seasoned. However, this restaurant does a really good job of serving authentic Cuban food. The service was really good, despite us sitting outside in the patio. Are drinks were replenished quickly and they were very accommodating to all requests. My chicken sandwich was very filling and genuinely really tasty. The mojitos were also good and packed a punch.

Super friendly and helpful staff, in English or Spanish. Huge portions all at very reasonable prices!! The food was delicious, everything was super tasty and the lechon was one of the best things I've eaten in a a long time and I will be thinking about it for awhile. Also didn't snicker when I ordered double dessert

While in Miami recently, I Yelped for the best Cuban breakfast place and this one had the top reviews. It wasn't crowded early on a Saturday so four of us sat inside and enjoyed traditional Cuban breakfasts and cafe con leche. Everything was pretty good: The food, service and seating area. One hiccup: I received a $20 off offer (of a $100 purchase) by checking into Yelp when I arrived. None of the staff was familiar with the offer even though there were Yelp stickers on their doors. I wasn't about to leave without getting the discount so I remained firm and they eventually relented after calling someone. I was then told, "You'd better give us a good review!" OK, here it is...

Part of a little Havana tour. Very good Cuban coffee. Empanada had a very nice crunch. Ground beef with potatoes on the inside. A lot of different sauce options depending how spicy you want it.

So we returned to Little Havana to grab some lunch. This wasn't our first choice, but the first choice was closed they day we were in the neighborhood. Cuban food. The server said "everything is good" when asked about the menu, which isn't very helpful. Not everything was explicitly Cuban, but he claimed it was "Cuban style". Also not very helpful. I ended up ordering the Bandeja El Cristo, and my wife ordered the Solomillo. Both were fine, but a little disappointing. The Solomillo was what appeared to be a stir-fry with a pile of rice/beans and a few slices of plantains. The flavor of the rice/beans was actually very nice. The "stir-fry" was nothing special. Meanwhile, my bandeja was a mixed bag. The tamale was almost all masa; very little filling. The rice was rice, the beans were black beans. Very basic, no seasoning. Then there were two cups with meat. Those were pretty good. I ended up mixing the rice and beans (which still wasn't as good as the rice/beans mix my wife was served), and the one meat with the tamale to make up for the fact there was almost no filling. The mango smoothie was all smoothie (i.e. creamy), and very little mango. My lemonade was better. All in all, a mixed bag of "pretty good" and "mediocre". And a bit pricey.

    Are all menu items halal?

The restaurant is called El Cristo, what do you think? No, the answer is no. In fact, I'm sure none of the meat dishes are halal. They also serve alcohol, so there's that.

There was always plenty of places to choose from but when we arrived everyone was closed or closing soon. Ball & Chain was the only place that seemed to open. They had live music so we decided to walk in and were fortune to be able to get at the bar and just relax. The staff was great, it did take forever to a bartender to acknowledge us, but I be fair we weren't in any rush. My wife and I both ordered mojitos. I got the classic and she got hers with passion fruit. They were both good, but pricey. Which is understandable in a place like this. The vibes were there and the live music was great. Can definitely see us returning next time we're in Miami.

The place has an energy…read moreabout it that is unmatched; people dancing, incredible live music, and all around friendly staff. There is such an incredible uniqueness about the staff as well. During live performances, one waitress would get up on stage and play instruments and at other times bartenders would join in. I was truly smiling from ear to ear all night. I drank delicious mojitos all night and even with a packed venue the drinks came out extremely fast! Although the restaurant was packed, our waitress remained extremely kind and attentive throughout the night. To me, the food was just good. We had the Jamón Serrano Croquetas to start. They were a little cold for my taste and not the best I've ever had but they weren't bad. My husband really loved his skirt steak ropa vieja and didn't leave a single grain of rice. I opted for the rabo encendido pasta. I like that they weren't skimpy on the rabo. The downside of this place is that to maximize space, you're packed in like sardines. The tables are basically on top of each other. A larger sized person would not fit getting in and out of their seat and my husband was constantly backing up into the people seated behind him. Overall, this is a place you definitely visit for the atmosphere above food. I will 100% be coming back for drinks, appetizers and more live music. It is an incredible spot especially for those looking for Cuban nostalgia.
