I especially enjoy the zucchini fritters and sausage patties, and the chicken mango salad is excellent as well. The drink menu is equally fun, with a unique variety of milks like pistachio and walnut, paired with creative beverage options. Blue daisy exemplifies an aesthetic, overpriced, and mediocre at best brunch experience. I came on a Sunday around 12 and was seated right away. I was seated outside with a view of a busy road intersection, which made for nice people watching. The menu didn't have any stand-out dishes that you couldn't find at any other brunch place and there were barely any savory vegetarian options. I went with the Napa scramble. The scramble itself was very heavy on the spinach and light on the sun-dried tomatoes, which made for a not great texture and duller flavor. After trying the Melrose location I wanted to try Santa Monica! The area is super cute and not too hard to find meter parking, even for Sunday brunch. The vibe is really pretty, though some tables are a bit challenging to fit a larger party of 6. There were suuuuper cute outdoor plants in the middle of the tables so it was hard to see and hear the whole party. Thankfully, the staff were so nice and accommodating and let us move to a booth where we could combine tables! The team here were really friendly and food service was very fast - I'd come back just for the excellent service. The menu, however, has a lot of fun options! Meh. It's a cute outdoor patio, French vibes. However, you're really just looking out on a busy intersection of cars. We did not do the $29 bottomless mimosa offer, but that's a great deal. Service was ok, it wasn't super busy while we were here. I had the pistachio matcha, which was delicious. The menu left a little bit to be desired. I saw the ricotta berry crepe on Yelp, but they don't have it anymore. Nearly all of the sweet crepe/pancake/french toast items involved banana, which doesn't please everyone in my group. Food is MID. And expensive. I got eggs Benedict with "house" patties. One egg yolk was overcooked. Patties were dry and full of pepper. Potatoes were barely warm. Just moved to downtown Santa Monica and have been exploring all the local brunch spots -- and Blue Daisy Café is easily one of my favorites so far! It's super walkable from my new place, which already gives it bonus points, but everything from the food to the vibe made it such a great experience. The Pistachio Latte with whipped cold foam blew me away -- creamy, flavorful, and not too sugary. I could honestly drink that every day. I also tried the Breakfast Burrito, which was packed with flavor and came with a side of seasoned fries that were perfectly crispy and addictive (seriously, get the fries!). Found Blue Daisy on yelp while searching for brunch in SaMo. Arrived at the restaurant around 10:30 am and it was pretty empty, we were allowed to choose where we wanted to sit. We spotted a door leading to an outdoor patio area so we decided to seat ourselves there. Instead of physical menus, there are QR codes you scan to view online. After ordering, it took around 15 minutes to get our food. Our server was the sweetest and very friendly. We ordered the Napa Scramble, Zatar Eggs and a half order of pancakes. My friend who normally orders eggs / scrambles for breakfast said the Napa scramble was solid. I really enjoyed the zaatar eggs, it was a nice twist to incorporate Turkish sausage. Pancakes were pretty much your normal pancakes -- met my expectations. Overall the food didn't disappoint and we were glad we picked Blue Daisy, though I think the nice weather + cute outdoor seating played a big role in my impression. The total came out to be around $70 after tip, a bit steep but also pretty on par for brunch I suppose. It was a slow day with a light rain here in Santa Monica. My friend took me out to eat for lunch and suggested Blue Daisy. We were greeted quickly and pleasantly. We sat on the porch patio. This was a really sweet find. They have gluten-free options for crêpes and other dishes, including French toast. We ordered the gluten-free French toast and the bacon crêpe to share. The portion sizes were large, for sharing so it was nice to have some variety. The crêpe came with a salad, which was really good--I loved the dressing. The French toast was served with bananas and fresh strawberries, which made it even more enjoyable to have the fresh fruit. The waiters were very nice and helpful, but there was a slight delay in service. I had to ask for a menu and the check twice, even though it wasn't super busy at the time due to the fires and wind storm nearby. The food did come quickly, once we got the menus and ordered. We found parking on the street, which cost about $2.50 an hour, and we needed about an hour for the whole meal. I'm not sure if there was other parking nearby, but it wasn't hard to find. My daughter really enjoyed this spot, and so did I. If it hadn't been so windy, we would've loved to sit outside. While everything else was wonderful, the delay in getting menus and the check are why I gave them four out of five stars. We drove from Huntington Beach to meet up with a childhood friend I hadn't seen for some 35 years. She was staying one block away so she picked the place. This is a cozy and comfortable corner spot with a very creative menu. The staff is very friendly and efficient and they were very nice and patient as they didn't mind as they let the three of us stay and chat a bit longer. We hadn't been in Santa Monica for some 20 years so it was very wonderful to return for the day. Went here for lunch with a friend, we were seated fairly quickly. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Inside is so cute! To my knowledge they don't have paper menus, but through a QR code on the table. Two matchas and a fresh orange juice just to try it out, and we were really happy with everything. I am no stranger to being told the orange juice is fresh but then ordering to discover it was not. This was very fresh OJ! Both my girlfriend and I really loved it. The server, Elizabeth, was fantastic. Super accommodating, even with some pretty particular requests.
