This is a response to the review by MiREina N. I was seated right at the entrance and I heard and witnessed the whole exchange. The restaurant opens at 12 and me and my party of 6 were seated promptly upon opening. MiREina arrived 5 mins later and didn't have to wait more than 10 seconds and the server greeted her. She requested a larger table for her and her baby and the server asked if she needed space for the stroller as they would be able to move things around to accommodate. This Mireina told the server she wanted a larger table so she could have her 3 month old play on the table while she ate. At this point I was shocked myself. I think the server made the right decision to check with management and management said that they won't be able to accommodate that but if they would have the baby in the stroller they could certainly seat her and her 3 month old. This guest was very entitled and rude and honestly I know everyone has a different parenting style but it's not fair to subject yours on an establishment that is concerned about any accidents happening and worried about the safety of your baby. I've been here multiple times and it's so family friendly and they even now have a kids table for activities. read more

I took my 94-year-old mother to lunch here on June 9, 2026, expecting a special afternoon based on a pleasant experience I had about a year ago. Unfortunately, this visit was incredibly disappointing. When we arrived, there were only a few other customers dining. We were seated promptly at a corner table, but after that, we were essentially forgotten. For over 35 minutes, no one came to take our order, ask if we'd like something to drink, or even acknowledge that we were waiting. The front doors were wide open, and it was cold and windy inside. I had to get up and ask that they be closed. Even then, it took another 10 minutes before anyone responded to the request. During our wait, I watched staff clear tables and attend to other tasks while never once checking on us. Eventually, after sitting there feeling completely invisible, my mother and I quietly got up and left. I also noticed that the menu seemed much more limited than I remembered from my previous visit. The overall experience felt very different from the restaurant I had enjoyed before, which makes this even more disappointing. I chose this restaurant because I wanted to treat my mother to a special lunch, and sadly it turned out to be anything but special. Perhaps this was an isolated incident, but the lack of service and basic hospitality was shocking. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience warrants one. We just moved into the area and decided to stop by this quaint little restaurant, where we enjoyed an early dinner together on a Saturday night on the patio. Service was great, our hostess seated us right away, and our server brought us water right away. She gave us a few recommendations, which I love! Food was good overall. We specifically chose TerraTorry for their farm to table style dining and focus on local ingredients. The food was very fresh and they had a few good options for vegetarians. I looooved the flaming halloumi. They really put on a show for this! The waiter was very kind and helpful. He explained that their cocktails are low alcohol percentage because the liquor license only covers this. They were still really good and had a long selection of wines as well. I got the pasta dish with mushrooms which I loved! I loved the variety of mushrooms in the dish. My only complaint was that some of the mushroom chunks were huge and seemed to still have the chewy base of the stem on them. The desserts were good, with the chocolate chip cookies surprisingly being my favorite. Normally creme brulee is my go to dessert but this one tastes lighter than normal. Your staff repeatedly told me that my baby would have to remain in the stroller because of "liability." Those were the words used. I asked if I could have a larger table so we would have more room and be comfortable, and instead of addressing my concerns, your staff continued to make the situation feel unnecessarily difficult. It is also important to note that you never took the time to speak with me personally, despite the restaurant being completely empty. Rather than coming over, hearing my concerns, and understanding what actually happened, you chose to respond publicly with a version of events that does not reflect my experience. I go out to eat daily, honestly for almost every meal, and I have never encountered this type of situation anywhere else. I have dined at countless restaurants with my baby and have always been met with normal hospitality and understanding. This was the first time I was made to feel like bringing my infant with me was a problem. Instead of acknowledging how your staff handled the situation, your response paints me as an irresponsible parent. I have spent nearly 10 years as an educator and developmental specialist. The insinuation that I would knowingly put any child, especially my own infant, in an unsafe situation is completely offensive and frankly insulting. This experience was never about whether I had a reservation or what time I arrived. The restaurant was nearly empty, I was left standing outside in the heat waiting to be seated, and when I was finally addressed, I was made to feel unwelcome because I was dining alone with my baby. I'm glad I chose to leave. The restaurant across the street welcomed us immediately, treated us with kindness, and reminded me what genuine hospitality actually looks like. I was once again told they would not "assume that liability." Liability for what? Holding my own baby? That is one of the most ridiculous explanations I've ever heard from a restaurant. If that's truly their policy, it's unbelievably anti-family. If it isn't, then it was an embarrassing excuse to turn away a mother dining alone with her infant. Needless to say, I walked out. I crossed the street to The Win-Dow and had the exact opposite experience. I was welcomed immediately, treated with kindness, served quickly, and enjoyed a great meal without anyone acting like holding my own baby was some sort of legal crisis. I am a huge sucker for lemon ricotta pancakes and gourmet burgers. I saw that TerraTorry offered both and I could order them in the same meal, made this a instant visit for me. Unfortunately the meal fell very flat needs some improvment. We came at around 2pm on a Saturday and the restaurant was empty outside of one party who was eating outside. We also opted to eat outside since it was a nice day out. When we were seated at our table there was a coffee cup that was still dirty (coffee inside of it) that was still on the table. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning. The Burger - We specifically asked for no crispy opinions on the burger and they arrived with them on it. The server said it wouldn't be an issue to remove them. So we spent the first portion of the meal picking off the onions. The burger had a fresh baked bun and high quality meat, you'd think this would be a good burger. But the bun was very hard on the bottom and dense, and did not have the spongyness you'd expect from a brioche bun. The meat was very underseasoned and tasted like someone just put some beef with little salt of seasoning on a grill and cooked it. Yes, the meat taste of quality beef, but it lacked the preperations to make the patty flavorful. The fries would have been good except they had too much rosemary on them. They were a great crispyness and thickness but the rosemary was not needed. Then the fries came with guacamole type dipping sauce. Dipping fries in a guacamole seemed like an off combination and an aioli would have been much preferred. The lemon ricotta pancakes do not come with syrup. So be warned. They do come with a little bit of amazing jam though. The jam is really good, there is just not enough of it. We shared one pancake each, and it was hard to divide so little jam. When lemon ricotta pancakes are done right you don't even need syrup. These lacked a truly strong lemon flavor which is what I wanted to taste. They also were surprisingly thin and lacked any cake like consistency or flavor. I think that TerraTorry could easily turn this business around with a small little adjustments with their recipes. They do use quality ingredients here just need to perfect their cooking techniques and receipe. **Edit**: After seeing the comment left from management, I will revise my review by adding additional information. I dined here on July 2025, not on December 6th, 2025, as presumed. The pictures are accurate of what I have eaten and my experience at the establishment. The Kashk-E-Bademjoon was rich and flavorful, the flaming halloumi was such a fun standout, and the spicy tuna tostada and burrata were both fresh and delicious. Stopped by Terratorry in Santa Monica for happy hour and came away pretty impressed. The happy hour prices are actually pretty reasonable for the quality of food and drinks you're getting. My favorite dish of the night was easily the Cove Mussels. They came in a curry-based sauce that was absolutely delicious, and you'll definitely want some bread to soak up every last bit of it. The Kashk-e-Bademjoon was another standout and probably one of the most visually impressive dishes we ordered. We also tried the Spring Artichoke, Flaming Halloumi, and Spicy Tuna Tostada, all of which were solid and showed a lot of attention to detail. As for drinks, the Rosemary Mirage was my favorite. Tasty, refreshing, and presented beautifully like most of the cocktails we saw coming out of the bar. Overall, a great happy hour spot with quality food, creative drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere. Dined on the patio on a Thursday around 1:30 pm (they close at 3:00 pm for lunch). We waited for a while to be greeted/sat. There was only one employee working front of the house. She was super sweet, but definitely spread thin! Once seated, she gave us water quickly and asked us if we had any questions about the menu. There are no physical menus, which I personally don't love. We were told we could order directly with our server or through the QR code; however, QR code seemed like the best option since there was only one employee working front of house. I didn't love that if you order through the QR/Toast you had to tip/check out before even getting your food. There was no option to add more to your order as you dined, or wait to tip/pay until the end. That honestly killed the esthetic for me. It felt like fast casual. However, I will say the food was delicious. I ordered the grain bowl (quinoa, butternut squash, kale, apples, almonds, cranberries, crispy garbanzo beans, avocado, apple cider vin) and added shrimp. The meal had great flavor and was well balanced, but really overpriced imho. The grain bowl was $25 alone and another $14 to add a few shrimp. Unfortunately, would not return for lunch. Went for Saturday/weekend brunch and had the TerraTorry Breakfast with over easy eggs (nice and runny but not undercooked at all), smoked bacon (perfectly crispy without being even a tiny bit burnt), smashed potatoes (warm on the outside and warmer on the inside), piece of toast with a side of butter and the best name I have EVER had, as well as the Buttermilk & Vanilla Waffle which normally comes with brulee'd banana (but I'm allergic so I substituted for strawberry's), whipped honeycomb butter and maple syrup (but I also highly recommend using the jam on the waffle) and it was one of the best waffles I've ever had! TerraTorry is a new favorite for us! Charming little farm-to-table restaurant with an ever evolving menu - we've been wanting to try them for a while and finally had a child-free opportunity to check them out. We sat outdoors and the only downside was the lack of space heaters and the fact that most diners were inside so it was easy for the staff to keep getting caught up with them and forgetting to make their way outside. Fortunately, it wasn't too cold the night we were there, and we had plenty of time. When we had our server's attention, he was very friendly with many helpful suggestions. The look of the place is charming, and we loved the music they were playing over the speakers - more big band and jazz as opposed to the pop or synth you hear in so many other restaurants. We ended up ordering a bit too much and ran out of stomach space for dessert. Here's what we got: - Mussels: These were delivered to the table in the Dutch oven they were cooked in, and they tasted as good as they smelled when the lid came off. The broth was curried and just mildly spicy and sopping it up with the piping hot baguette it came with was the most satisfying experience for a mildly chilly evening. The mussels were tasty but the meat was disappointingly on the smaller side despite the shells being fair sized. I would totally get this again, and I think our kiddo would love it. - Kashk-e bademjoon: This is apparently the chef's mother-in-law's recipe, and it is a must get. Better than any other eggplant dip I've had at a Persian restaurant. It is served warm with hot puffy pita bread, and between this and the mussels I've had more carbs than I have in months, but it is so worth it. The fermented yogurt and mint add a depth of flavor, and the crispy onions on top bring a nice texture contrast. We are definitely getting this again. - Terratory burger: This is the one dish I would take a pass on in the future. While there was nothing objectionable about it, it just didn't have much flavor and lacked the write-home quality all the other dishes were imbued with. - Chilean salmon: The fish was outstanding. It was well cooked with a perfectly crispy skin that my daughter would have loved along with the sprinkling of chives. The bed of beluga lentils it was served on was creamy and heartwarming, and it was hard to stop eating this even when I was full. I'm so happy I finally went here. I had dinner last night with a friend and it was perfect for a nice dinner where we can actually talk. We shared a lovely artichoke arugula salad to start, followed by a tureen of mussels with crusty French bread, and the salmon entrée and fruit cobbler. All of the dishes were fantastic. Really fresh flavors and simple but elegant sauces. We were waited on by Zach and Henry and both were warm and friendly and yet professional. We stopped by Terra Tory to check out this new spot, and it's got some serious charm. We've always liked what this location used to be, so we were curious to see what they'd done with it. Walking in feels like a throwback to the '50s--Frank Sinatra and his crooning pals set the mood, and everyone greets you like you're their favorite cousin from out of town. We ordered the lobster salad, the chopped salad, and a burger. The food itself? Excellent. But... it took over 40 minutes to arrive. And this wasn't during a dinner rush--we had enough time to discuss our childhoods, finish our drinks, and consider whether we should grow our own lettuce. That said, the food was fresh and flavorful when it finally came, and all was forgiven when dessert arrived: a warm chocolate chip cookie with a banana cream dip that was so good and--miracle of miracles--came out in a jiffy. A sweet ending with no waiting! Bottom line: We recommend Terra Tory, especially if you're in the mood for good vibes and great food. I stopped by 10 Santa Monica restaurants to choose the best spot for 14 vibrant older adults to have a fun comfortable experience. Most places had blaring music you have to shout over. When I walked into TerraTorry, I immediately noticed the mellow jazz music and artistic decor. I spotted the rustic farmhouse table for a large group. Vases with beautiful flowers were placed on top. The Happy Hour menu offered "small bites", smaller portions and drinks at a lower price. Exactly what I wanted, a relaxed vibe, a touch of class, elegance and charm, yet affordable. I had two conversations with the lovely Bahar to plan my event. She is a gem, a delight to work with, clear and forthright in her communications. She went above and beyond to accommodate my requests. She opened up Happy Hour for us at 3:00 on a Saturday. She honored separate checks, extra work for the spirited server Zach. The food was uniquely prepared, super tasty and aesthetically appealing. A friend wanted to bring in a custom made birthday cake, which would require an understandable cake cutting fee. Bahar suggested that her pastry chef make a specialty cake, no cutting fee. So happy she did. I chose pistachio caramel. Gorgeous to see, tasty layers of pistachio butter, cream and cake with chopped pistachio nuts on top. Not too sweet or sugary, which we loved. I shared Thanksgiving feast with two friends at Terra Torry and it was wonderful. It was a prix fixe meal served somewhat family-style (appetizer, salad, and dessert served individually; main course served family-style). The food was delicious - even the turkey was moist, before adding the gravy and mashed potatoes. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We asked if they were going to do something similar for Christmas, or at least be open for Christmas dinner, and they hadn't yet decided. We'll certainly return if they're open for the holiday. Service was terrible. Food was so-so. I had the lobster roll. I'm from the Cape Cod area and I know a lot about lobster rolls. This was a mediocre. lobster roll at best.. There were apples in it and a weird kind of mayo. If you like lobster rolls don't order this one. The ambience was nothing to write home about. Just a bunch of chairs, outside. first of all, the prices were ridiculous. Iced tea was eight dollars! We had two iced teas, one lobster roll and three fish tacos that were very ordinary fish tacos. After the tip, it cost us about $120. You can get the same thing for half price across the street at Rosti's, or ice teas are four dollars and everything tastes better read more
