Such a cute little French cafe to have gone to for my first outing for 2026! I had a lavender latte, plain croissant, and caprese ficelle to go. Both, the gentleman taking my order, and the one who made my latte were very kind, professional and prompt with my order. There's caprese baguette was amazing and the coffee was perfection!!! The croissant was flaky on the outside and the inside is soft and melts in your mouth when chewing. Chefs kiss! There's a little seating area and hot cafe food if you have time. I was running errands with my medium sized dog, who was warmly welcomed by the smaller stuffed dog at the entrance door. This place is definitely one for repeat visits. Super cute European cafe with good food. My sister and I stopped by here for brunch and we shared the sunrise sandwich, which was the favorite, and the lox eggs Benedict - also super delicious. We also each got the cold foam iced matcha that we really enjoyed. Prices are very reasonable and you order at the counter. A very cute café along Montana Avenue, surrounded by my favorite boutiques--perfect for a relaxed stroll and a short break. The space is charming both inside and out, with a cozy, stylish feel that fits the street beautifully. The matcha was well made and enjoyable, and the service was warm and attentive. Pastries, including the canelé, were just okay and didn't taste very fresh, which was a bit disappointing. Really cute! But it's not really full service. You order inside, find a seat, and they'll bus the food to you. You do have to pick up drinks yourself. Seating is also mostly outside. There are a few indoor seats, but very few. Also not all outdoor seating is equal, some of the tables are lopsided. So you want to be on the deck and not on the grass. We ordered Eggs Up (scrambled eggs, bacon, sourdough, butter and jam) and Quiche Lorraine (eggs, bacon, onions, gruyere). We also got the Yuzu Matcha Lemonade. We spent ~$40 for brunch. Overall, food was fine - not super memorable. It's probably a good place to stop if you're shopping but not really a brunch destination. read more

My friend and I stopped in today for lunch at 11:30 and surprisingly, there was no line! I love the beautiful pink and white outside patio. You can get breakfast all day and enjoy the amazing plain, blueberry or chocolate pancakes with bananas and French whipped cream or Eggs Benedict with organic eggs on a brioche bun with avocado, hollandaise, and turkey or salmon lox and a mixed green salad. We also love the BLT with bacon, eggs over hard, avocado, melted white cheddar, lettuce and mayonnaise on grilled sourdough. Went here on a Saturday around 10. It wasn't too crowded and it's a cute spot with tables to sit at outside. There was eventually a singer who performed too. The food was pretty standard. Nothing to write home about but not awful. Just nothing special. However-service was not good. It took about 45 minutes for two omelettes. And it wasn't crowded so I don't know why it took so long. What an adorable brunch spot on Montana! I thought we were walking up to a private baby shower or birthday party when I saw the pink umbrellas but nope, just some super cute decor. All decor inside was really cute. Parking available on Montana or side streets. Welcoming staff. Inside there are grab and go options or you can order then grab a seat outside (looks like they're expanding to also have indoor seating soon). Plenty of shade with so many umbrellas. They even had live music! They brew intelligentsia which is wonderful for my coffee brain. Tried the Mozza Chicken Pesto Artisan Baguette and it was absolutely incredible. Almost perfect! Had a mini "reunion" with a friend from high school here! The staff is so very friendly and generous. (Shout out to a man named Tree!) They were enthusiastic about our little reunion, which was very sweet. The iced masala chai latte was exquisite! We both got it with oat milk, and I would drink another one right now! Delicious! Lovely French cafe on Montana with a beautiful indoor and outdoor aesthetic! Hard to miss with the bright pink furniture and umbrellas in their outdoor patio, it's giving desert chic. My favourite part is how they serve the drinks, it's a beautiful presentation within a branded can, I really loved the French toast latte, as per the recommendation of the person who helped me at the counter, and the rose almond latte was really good as well. Vibes were super cute with the pink. Drinks also presented super well. Inside they were doing construction and it was super hot. I was excited for a mid day matcha and coffee. All advertising said good vibes only but then they refuse to do anything other than what's on their menu. We asked for two eggs à la cart. They would not do it. The vegetable quiche was mediocre at best the over easy eggs came hard boiled. The coffee came after we were done with breakfast . We asked for honey with the coffee and they delivered brown sugar. The toast on the avocado toast was burnt. I cannot imagine anything worse than this restaurant and I reviewed a lot of restaurants. Do not take a chance of this restaurant. I finally went and tried Le Cafe De La Plage today for the first time and was quite impressed! The indoor decor and the outdoor patio area give the cafe such a warm, happy, and inviting feeling. Prices are pretty reasonable considering the amount of food that you get. The food itself is good too. I got the turkey sandwich (asked for no bacon) which came with a little side salad and I really enjoyed both. I asked the girl at the register which drink she recommended and she said the French Toast Latte which isn't technically on the menu. Glad Le Café de La Plage opened a location in Santa Monica. Been here many times so far, and service is amazing and very friendly every single time. Their outdoor patio is super cute and comfortable, and surprisingly large so it's never been an issue to find a table. Their pastries are definitely not the best but often have a good variety. I wouldn't rave about their quality. Haven't tried food but it looked really good! Very great selection of coffee, tea, latte and other similar beverages (lavender, rose and other flavors). Brand new French Cafe opened today!! The original one has been open in Malibu for 7 years so they know what they are doing! Their coffee menu is a good one. My mother-in-law came to visit from out of town and decided to treat me and my 2 kids to breakfast. The food was delicious and almost everyone was friendly, patient, and kind. Except one. With highlights, tattoos on her left arm and sporting black yoga pants, she was the epitome of a high school mean girl. We ordered our food and sat down outside. Everyone's food came except mine. I went inside and asked how long it would be and she told me they're working on it now. She never input it in the system. It happens, that's fine. But instead of saying a simple sorry since everyone was done eating and I was still waiting on my order, she barked at me and my MIL that "I forgot to press one little button and the order didn't go through. I'M SO SORRY THANK YEWWW" and walked away. Her tune completely changed the minute the owners walked in. It was "love" this and "love" that with a fake buttery voice. Highly performative and it made sense because I then saw her sit at a table with the owners probably getting her review. I love this cafe and all the people who work here. This person completely soured the experience and I'm going to give it some time before coming back. It's a shame because I live a block away and loved coming here and bringing others from out of town. read more
