My co-worker invited me to come and enjoy some drinks and karaoke with her so I made my way down to this place on boulder hwy, it was quite an experience! As I entered in I could hear the jukebox music playing a lively country music tune that came into audio clarity as I stepped in. I felt I was thrown into one of those movies where the main character is the stranger who walks into a local country western bar and *boom*, you're in another world far away from the glitz and hustle of the nearby downtown Las Vegas city life. If there was a remnant of old town Fremont, this would be that place. There's a certain throwback feel and charm to this place. For instance, they do not accept credit cards, its cash only. My friend is not there yet so I step up to order a drink. There's a gentleman next to me who is singing along with a country song from the jukebox, he turns to me and smiles and sing me a verse. I smile and we chit chat about living in Texas. We both had that in common. Turns out the bartender had met me before and while we caught my co-worker shows up and the fun begins. From the many local regulars who know each other and those who are new to this place, there's a friendly vibe here. It also helps that the drinks are cheap here! Karaoke starts at 8pm and the KJ has many selections and there's even a little area of you want to dance! I would definitely come here again and invite more people. Ask for Chris - the bartender there, he'll take good care of you! :)

So this is a Vegas country dive bar that has karaoke. It is 4 miles down Boulder Highway from downtown - bar names don't get much more on point than that eh? (East Vegas Wasteland Bar was considered too honest) Anyway this place is the most authentic Texas Roadhouse style saloon that I've seen in Vegas, not that I've really been looking. The karaoke is DJ'd by a man with a HANDLEBAR MUSTACHE who looks like a real cowboy. There is a shotgun behind the counter next to the register. I noted three cowboy hats. They have an extensive selection of cheap beers and liquors, and enough whiskey to get a donkey drunk. I went with the $3 (!?) draft pint of Amberbock, a domestic with a darker color and more flavor than most. The karaoke was not as awful as I had feared, although there was a lot of Garth Brooks in the hizzy, peeps.

Welcome to Frankie's Tiki Room…read more This Iconic Tiki bar on Charleston Blvd/Shadow Ln on the east side of Downtown Las Vegas. It's the world's only 24 hour Tiki Bar, opening its doors in December of 2008, nearly 18 full years ago. It has a spacious but limited parking lot, bright neon sign, cool outside entrance and even more wonder inside. True to tiki decor with island themed fixtures, tables, patterns, seating and ambiance. Hints of surfing culture, rockabilly and retro. Perfect signature original or classic tiki drinks via their menu as well as full bar, soft drinks and beer. The Makalele Knockout is probably one of my personal favs with rum(s), lime, hibiscus and a incredible blend of flavors. However the Tiki Bandit, Frankiestein, Dr No, ScruV and numerous others might speak to you. I've been to Frankie's a few times about 10 years ago, so it was nice to stop in with a group of buds and share some convo as well as meet up with my oldest best friend and her wife, who ironically is who I came to Frankie's with those first times a decade ago. All tiki drinks are currently $15 and well worth it. You're able to drink, gamble (at the bar), smoke, converse, sway (good music) but limited space and enjoy the night or day away. Seating goes quick at night, especially on weekends, but arriving earlier (before 8pm) can help. Sometimes tables, seats and areas open up faster if you're patient. All the staff, including the bartenders and door guy are thoughtful and personable. We eventually got part of the area that's slightly enclosed with a great view of the entire bar especially being a group of 6 to 8 at once point. High recommend.

I have been to Frankie's may times over the years and every time I go, it continues to impress. Their prices are reasonable, their drinks are stout and delicious and the bartenders are always great. We came in tonight for one drink and that is what we had, one drink each. The Jet Pilot is delicious as is the scorpion. The interior decor is amazing, very tiki and dimly lit. I prefer this place to Golden Tiki, as there are no time limits enforced on how long you can stay. Simply put, Frankie's is an outstanding tiki bar with outstanding drinks. If you're into the tiki vibe or all things tiki, this should be on your list of places to frequent.

The service is top notch, the ladies are wonderful even when they are intentionally projecting insults at you with the megaphone. You will get a good laugh. The bartenders dance on the bar top every hour so make sure you get your crap off the bar when they do! Ask for a water or get cocky and you might be wearing the water instead of drinking it. I've been sprayed with the water gun a time or two. Haha! If it's your first time I recommend asking for a "hog piss" shot. They are only $3 at the time of writing this and actually pretty tasty. Don't forget to buy your bartender one as well! The security staff was very professional and they do check IDs. They were on top of everything very discretely without disruption. Shout out to Nathan! Great guy! I had some guy starting an altercation with me thinking my beer was his. The security team noticed the interaction and immediately redirected him without further escalation. This was my first time to the new location and I stayed at the Plaza Hotel just so I was close to my favorite bar. This bar is also very lady friendly, not just for the guys. I see wedding parties come in all the time. Everyone has a blast! Only complaints I had about this location was you had to walk through the casino to use the restroom and then come back. Also the bartenders have to tame it down a bit from their previous location since it's located in a casino. Also if you are easily offended from profanity or crude comments then this isn't the place for you. I personally love it. This is a temporary location and I can't wait for the opening of their new permanent location. I had a great time as always and will be back as always! I highly recommend going to Hogs if you have not been. You will not be disappointed. Don't forget to tip your bartenders! To the Plaza Hotel...Good move allowing Hogs to be part of your establishment. That was the only reason I stayed at the Plaza during my stay and also enjoyed your hotel. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks again to the Hogs and Heifers Family for always making us feel part of the family and not just a fixture. See ya soon!

You walk and they check your ID so don't bring the kids, this is not for them! Security does. It play either, they watch everyone and everything looking out for their all female bartender crew! It was my birthday the day we went and the friends we were with mentioned it which resulted in shots of course! We ordered drinks and just took it all in. The bartenders are fantastic, fun, full of energy and wild! They jump up on the bar and dance to certain songs ( I'll let you go see what ones) The one thing to note is they ONLY TAKE CASH!! If your drink is almost gone they automatically refill you as well so it can add up quickly! Definitely spent more than planned but not mad about it! Would definitely go back!

This occurred well over a year ago (09.27.24 to be exact) so hopefully he has moved on. Bartender described himself as a "professor" of all things beer and blabbed on and on about this and that. We were drinking and enjoying a framboise lambic that I regularly have at home. He said well if you like that you have to give this a try. So, we did. He didn't mention the cost and we didn't ask. The lambic we were were drinking cost $14 per bottle/glass. We ordered ONE bottle of his recommended beer "Framboise 2022" (which was not as good as the $14 one we were drinking, btw), at a cost of $35. We were heading to a show so when the bill came we were in a hurry so paid it without reviewing it. Our bad, but much more so the bartender's as he ensured 1) a larger bill for the owner, and 2) a bigger tip for himself. I have meant to stop by to discuss with the owners but the opportunity has not presented itself. I like the place and will possibly return but never again will I be pegged a ringer for a "clueless tourist", there or anywhere in LV! P.S., I'm from NYC and never, ever did crap like that happen at any bar I ever visited -- and there were many! For the owners ... Recipt states "Server: Andrew & Rose S [owners, as I understand, not bartender's name who waited on us]", Check No. 65, 09.27.24, 6:40 p.m., Total: $85.00

The decor is perfect for a trip through time. There's a huge variety of beer between the on tap and bottled. It's the old school order at the bar and take your drinks to the table. Bartender was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The beer was served in the proper glassware. The decor has an incredible number of vintage signs, promotional displays, clocks, etc. some for beer brands no longer made. There is also a huge beer can collection. It's a very nice breaking from blinding flashing lights and loud music. Tip: From the outside you will think you're on the wrong street. There's no sign, flashing lights, folding message boards, etc. Open the door by the 222 and step into yesteryear with a modern supply chain. It's worth a visit.

First visit to Red Dwarf and it definitely won't be my last…read more I've been to their sister spot, Gray Witch, plenty of times and have always loved it, so I was excited to finally check out Red Dwarf. While both locations serve incredible Detroit-style pizza, they each have their own personality. Gray Witch has this cool, witchy, slightly punk-rock vibe, while Red Dwarf leans into a quirky, eclectic tiki-bar atmosphere that's unlike anywhere else in Vegas. The space is surprisingly roomy inside, with plenty of character and a fun atmosphere. The service was friendly, fast, and welcoming from start to finish. One thing I always notice is cleanliness, and while the bathroom is small, it was spotless--which honestly goes a long way for me. They also have a great beer selection, a full bar, and a refreshingly straightforward menu. I appreciate when restaurants focus on doing a handful of things really well instead of trying to do everything. We ordered the White Pie and the Meatsa Meatsa, and I was genuinely shocked when they arrived. Coming from Gray Witch, where I've only had pizza that comes with two slices for roughly $15, I wasn't expecting full Detroit-style pans with six slices each. At around $19 for an entire pizza, the value is fantastic. The standout was absolutely the Meatsa Meatsa. It was phenomenal--loaded with flavor without feeling heavy. The White Pie was also very good, just a little lighter and more subtle. Honestly, it may have suffered from being compared directly to how incredible the Meatsa Meatsa was. I kept feeling like it was missing one little thing, but I'd happily order it again. One thing I love about their Detroit-style pizza is how light, fluffy, and airy it is. In photos, these pizzas look dense and heavy, but they're surprisingly easy to eat. The texture is spot on. I also love that you can build your own pizza, and after looking around, the wings caught my eye as well. I didn't try them this visit, but they looked fantastic and are definitely on the list for next time. I'm also already planning a return trip to try the pineapple pie. Nothing but great things to say about Red Dwarf. Great pizza, great service, great value, and a unique atmosphere that makes the experience memorable. Vegas has a lot of pizza options, but both Red Dwarf and Gray Witch have managed to create something special. They share the same foundation of outstanding Detroit-style pizza, but each has its own distinct identity. Red Dwarf delivers a fun, eclectic tiki-bar experience with incredible pizza, while Gray Witch brings a quirky, witchy, punk-rock energy all its own. They're different, but they complement each other perfectly. Can't wait to come back and keep working my way through both the pizza menu and the drink list.
