    Lamb Tagine
    Antonietta D.

We were visiting Salem and wanted to eat something different than the usual pizza and burgers and decided to come here. The staff was extremely nice. We decided to eat outdoors cause the weather was nice. We ordered the traditional tea. I ordered lamb Tagine and my husband ordered chicken Tagine. The tea was supposed to be peppermint however it did not taste like peppermint and it still had the leaves inside. My dish came out right away. The food was a bit cold very flavorful and the lamb was very fatty. My husband's dish took forever to come out. I was already done eating by the time his plate came out. The waitress came out and apologized and said that the chicken was marinating. We thought he was going to receive chicken on the bone and he ended up getting chicken breast which to me should've been done very quickly however we both ended up eating by ourselves then the icing on the cake was when the bill came out! The waitress wanted to apologize by giving our drinks for free, which we appreciated, however with that said we paid $90 for a meal that we did not enjoy! I remember visiting Morocco and with $90 could've feed an entire village! Extremely overpriced dish.

Blue Fez was not that busy when we were there, but it should be packed with a line out the door. We enjoyed our food so much and our server was outstanding! Get the Tempranillo wine, to pair with the Paella, it was the perfect combination. The atmosphere was also amazing. We sat in high booths under beautiful curtains. Go there now!

We got the mosaic platter and it was absolutely delicious! All the flavors were great and unique to each dish. Nice portion, too. Would definitely come again and try other dishes, or the same thing again because it was so good!

This was the first time in ages we had been to Salem and during fall season. Lovely spot in downtown area and cozy interiors and ambience . We went on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was short staffed, but they did their best to get to all tables as fast as the way could. We started with the falafel and eggplant zaalouk. Falafel was a bit oily for me but tasty and the eggplant tapas was delicious. I wish they served it with pita bread in the side vs two tiny toasted ones. We are not huge eaters so always end up sharing the entree between me and my husband so we ordered the Tagine Marrakech with couscous. It was plenty for us and delicious. Just wished it was a bit more hot(temp wise) as it was a chilly night. Finished it with a dessert of Moroccan puréed dates with ice cream. It was more than enough for two and just the right amount of sweet for us ! Loved it! Really nice spot in Salem and I wish we had something like this closer to home .

Great restaurant in the heart of Salem. It was not busy during a weeknight and the waiter was very helpful. There is nice art work on the walls and traditional music playing. I ordered the mint tea which was not on the menu to share with my table. It came out in a pretty silver pot and had enough for at least 4-5 cups of tea. I ordered the lamb shank tagine which was delicious. Very tender and flavorful. The couscous under it was also very tasty. The portions are very generous and I surely could have split with another person.

Joined a few friends here on Saturday night. We opted to start with the Mosaik platter, a delightful sampling of all their apps. From the hummus to the beets and grape leaves, everything was seasoned and prepared to perfection. At the suggestion of our server, we also got an order of meatballs; these were tender and seasoned just right. Knowing we were saving room for dessert, we opted for the Lamb shank with couscous across the table. The lamb was so tender and juicy, the couscous so huge and, dare I say, fluffy! There were roasted carrots and, much to my delight, parsnips as well. For dessert, we chose the pistachio mouse cake and the Morrocan crepes. Beautifully plated! The pistachio really didn't have much mousse, but the cake was very good. The crepes were fried and drizzled with honey and nuts; so fricking yummy! Service was impeccable as well! Can't wait to come back!

Disorganized place, the waiters have no clue how to act. They seat people out if order. Never coming back.

BUT the menu rotates, so it might be a little womp if you go expecting the exact same dishes I had This is by far the best restaurant I've eaten at in Massachusetts. Everything was so, so, so yummy. Our top dishes were the beef carpaccio, octopus bruschetta, and ricotta loukamades. The beef carpaccio was flavorful and beautifully balanced, and the octopus bruschetta was another immediate favorite. But the ricotta loukamades??? Oh...the crimes I'd commit to eat those again Our least favorite was the harissa BBQ duck, but even that was still good. That honestly says a lot about the overall quality of the meal. I completely understand why this restaurant has so much hype. It may not be the most traditional Mediterranean or Turkish food, but it is gooooood. Every dish felt creative, polished, and genuinely exciting to eat. If I ever visit Boston again, I will WITHOUT A DOUBT be booking another reservation here just so I can try as many dishes as possible.

First impressions. - cool atmosphere. Attentive staff. No wait to sit. We ordered a few apps and drinks to start. The apps were genuinely good - steak and cheese egg roll things, hummus and pita (I do wish there was more pita, but I knew we had a lot of food coming) and the coconut shrimp. The cocktail was solid. I ordered a ribeye and she got the chicken sandwich. I am a steak snob - the steak was better and bigger than plenty of steakhouses I've been to. Medium rare and tasty. She enjoyed her sandwich. The fries are solid. Every request was accommodated, with a smile, and sometimes a joke - which was appreciated. It was more friendly feeling than stuffy. The negative reviews don't sound like the same place I enjoyed this evening. I'll definitely be returning.

Sultan: The lamb was stewed for a long time until incredibly tender and melted in your mouth, with absolutely no gamey taste. Although it's called "sweet lamb", it didn't have a strong sweetness; instead, it had a typical mild, complex flavor of onions, cumin, coriander seeds, and other spices. The Yellow Rice was likely seasoned with turmeric and saffron, making it very flavorful. The basmati rice grains were distinct but not too dry, perfect for mixing with the sauce. The White Garlic Sauce wasn't overpowering; it mainly added a touch of acidity, which, along with the cool, sweet corn, helped to cut through the greasiness. Actually, it was completely different from any other Moroccan lamb stew I've had. It was more like Yemeni Mandi, but with more layers of flavor and a more universally appealing taste. As a fusion dish, how can it not be considered a success? This restaurant offered self-build options, but I was rushing to the World Cup Fan Festival and didn't even have time to look at the menu carefully. The staff quickly recommended dishes and adjusted the ingredients based on my preferences. Excellent service.

I used my handy-dandy Yelp Boston app and landed on Nour cafe! I saw that they had #shawarma and that it was some of the best in the area, so here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: This place is literally a gas station, but there's nothing wrong with that. You pull up to the Shell, get some gas or park at a pump that's out of order or one of the available parking spots off to the right, but this place isn't really designed for you to dine in. Lol. Yes, you can sit in and eat off to the left side, but they really want you to leave. Once inside you make a right and above the drink coolers are a series of TVs that show you the menu. Continue to your right and you'll see the kitchen where all of the magic happens. Simple setup here. Service: There isn't any. You walk up to the counter, order your food, pay for it where you'd normally pay for gas then wait for them to call your name. My food was ready in 10 minutes. Food: I went with the mixed grill plate because I just FELT IN MY SOUL that I'd get a WHOLE LOT of food. Boy was I right! Lol. So the mixed grill plate comes with chicken shawarma, steak shawarma, ground lamb kabob, rice, a big pita, pickled vegetables, a slaw, a grilled onion mixture and hummus. Wow. Everything was SO good, SO seasoned and SO filling. I literally could eat on this for 2 and maybe 3 meals! I broke the pita into 4 smaller pieces and then made mini shawarmas with different meats in them! Lol. It was a bit messy, but you can totally eat this with a fork and knife without a problem. The food was excellent. Value: $16.99 is what I paid and when I got to my hotel then opened the lid to see all of that food I was just so blown away. How did they make any money by giving me all of this?! Lol. Astounded. Everything on the menu is cheap and there were many things under $10.00. In conclusion, I'd definitely pull up and get this exact same meal again! I went with the mixed grill to experience the different meats this place had to offer. I loved eating from here.
