The staff is very supportive, although they appeared to be short staffed today. Apparently, others have discovered this special location as it was very busy today and people were lined up but we were in and out in 15-20 minutes. NOTE: Although, the signs say no crushed, if you are able to get the bar code available to be read, you should be ok. We just twist the item to semi-uncrushed so bar code can be read. Whatever you do at home, do not remove the wrapper with the bar code. Also note that more items are now recyclable. While we do recycle glass, we find glass to be not worth recycling due to weight and price per pound but we continue to do be recycling partners for California, even if it's glass.

I remember being…read morea little skeptical at first because recycling centers aren't always located in the best areas, and as a woman, safety is important to me. However, this place is close to stores and residential areas, and it's out in the open rather than tucked away in a hidden corner, which definitely makes me feel more comfortable and at ease. It's a little out of my way, but it's absolutely worth the extra drive for me, especially for the peace of mind and feeling of safety. I'm happy to have found this place!

It is tucked away but I did find it. The gentleman was very nice and helped me unload the two boxes from my car for removal/disposal free of charge. He did take my name and address down since there was one monitor/screen, but majority were old desk phones, cords/cables, computer keyboards, surge protectors, and some lab equipment like a pH meter and serological pipet. I was also able to get a receipt for my records and the experience was super easy. Their warehouse looked very organized and clean.

This place only serves Elk Grove residents. You must bring your utility bill or Driver's License…read moreshowing an Elk Grove address. This collection center accepts various recyclables such as card board, metal, yard waste, dirt/concrete, appliances, and e-waste. They also accept hazardous waste such as batteries, chemicals, motor oil, coolant, oil filters, and paint, etc. Propane tanks smaller than the 20lb size can be disposed here. Styrofoam is no longer accepted. Service is always good as the workers are efficient at unloading hazardous waste and directing customers on where to place the recyclables. All recyclable items are placed into large 20' roll off bins. The yard waste and metal bin is very tall (approximately 6' tall) so it is easier to dispose of yard waste using a truck and standing in the bed to throw the items in. Gasoline can also be disposed here, but if you want to keep your gas can it requires coming back at a later date to pick it up after it has been emptied. Tires are accepted once a month during the tire recycling events. There is a limit for how many tires can be disposed.
