I ordered the avacado bowl with chicken. The chicken was so overcooked it was like chewing on leather. The avacado was slimy, almost translucent and most likely came out of a bag and definitely was not fresh. The server never asked if we liked our meals or I would have mentioned the mushy avacado. I did tell her at the end of the meal and her response was "oh". The flies that kept buzzing around our food did not help and the windows were not open. I find it inappropriate for waitresses to wear skin tight, super short booty shorts that show far more detail than most women want to see. read more

Came in for first time on a Friday evening just after the happy hour beer special had expired. Ordered a "Tall" draft expecting a TALL as served at most other places in Lansing area. When it came in a small clear plastic cup, I asked server George about it being a large and he pointed out it said 20 oz on the bottom of the cup. The bill called it a "Schooner", boy what a mis-label if I ever saw one. Would hate to see their small (regular size) beer. Maybe it is served in a dixie cup. My fish basket 5 pc, was great with plenty of fries and coleslaw, and hushpuppies. Wife chose the Jumbo Coconut shrimp basket that really contained "Jumbo" shrimp and plenty of dipping sauce. Overall fair for the money, EXCEPT the pretend Schooner thing. Guess rule is if you want any beer bargain there, must arrive before the 7 pm cutoff time. READ WHOLE THING While me and my boyfriend were there we ordered, a maple margarita, waters, vodka cranberry, pretzel bites, 8in pepperoni pizza and the street tacos with jalapeno corn on the side (extra). out waitress was very very nice. she did everything we needed and was super polite. the maple margarita was one of the hardest to get down drinks i've ever ordered. tequila and cinnamon do not mix do not get that drink. the restaurant was a nice cute dive bar vibe and if perfect for dive bar quality. but the food. my tacos were good with the corn on the side - i love corn so i ordered that extra - i was happy with what i got. the pretzels we ordered were amazing and the picky eater boyfriend i have liked them too. he is the pickiest eater ive ever met. he did not like the pizza. you cant expect the best from a dive bar. i had a good experience my boyfriend did not, but i did not like that margarita. i had an overall 8/10 experience for a dive bar while my bf says he had a 4/10. take that with what you will. i would go again. he wouldn't. read more

Ok. I DONT LIKE FISH. Or eating them at least. But my wife does. Finding a good seafood restaurant that thinks about the OTHER people is hard. Even harder in central Michigan. But we found one. And have lived close to it for last few years without knowing it existed. We passed it going to the lake here and thought.... We should try that. We were blown away. Aesthetically, it's gorgeous. Spacious and clean. Something for everyone. We were quickly seated and served a couple draft beers on the rooftop. It was a gorgeous 80 degrees and cool breezes from the water were a nice touch. Our server was quick and friendly. The upstairs menu is smaller than the bottom but that's ok. It was a lunch for us. I ordered Olive burger (a Lansing thing) my wife ordered shrimp. Both came with a generous amount of fries that were hot and crisp. The food was above average and we can't believe we have been so close but so far from this venue. Cost was VERY reasonable. Cute spot, super close to where my friend lives, so we walked here and got to cross through Lake Lansing South Park to get here, which was a cute walk up. The restaurant itself is very "lake life" decor themed and very nautical in general. I think on better weather days/summertime, they have a whole rooftop patio vibe going as well, which could be cute. But for us, even though we came here in the summertime as well, it seemed like there wasn't a whole lot of people who came here for on a Sunday mid-afternoon in July, so their rooftop area was closed and there was maybe 4 or 5 other tables occupied other than ours. This was all perfectly fine for our purposes since we just wanted a simple meal and to catch up, but it just looks like this restaurant has so much more potential. The food was fine, but truly nothing to write home about. I got a caesar salad that came with Goldfish crackers as my croutons, which I found hilariously kitschy and so random, but it worked I guess even if I did feel a tad bit like a kid! The menu was also highly seafood oriented as well, which is a bit suspect too given that this is located in the Lansing/Haslett area of Michigan that is completely landlocked. I got fish and chips and to no one's surprise, they were very unremarkable. But what mattered was my little adventure this day with my friends and this was a good environment for us to hang out in, so I appreciated the vibes if not the food. read more

Love the atmosphere of this place especially in summer! Bright, airy, beachy vibe with a bit of a grungy bar feel too. The Al's bluegill entree was flavorful, freshly cooked, hot with a nice savory light cornmeal breading. The cod fish basket was also excellent, tasted fresh, hot! Hush puppies were cooked perfectly. The fries were 10/10, onion rings 8/10. Coleslaw also above average. Fisherman's stew was tasty but came out luke warm instead of hot. The soup tasted like a creamy mix between New England and manhattan clam chowders. Beers were cold and service, including time to receive meals, was perfect. We were heading home from Lansing and stopped into this Town to see what was going on for the day since it was a beautiful Sunday. We were driving by Lake Lansing and came upon this restaurant just in time for lunch. It looks like it belongs in a beach resort town with the open garage doors and rooftop seating. I got the fish tacos and the choice was pan fried fish or blackened fish. I chose the blackened fish. They had a bit of a bite to them which I like. They also came with rice and coleslaw which was pretty tasty. My friend got the grouper sandwich and it came with french fries and coleslaw and he really enjoyed it. read more

I ended up uncontrollably vomiting multiple times it was a very bad experience I also know of several other people who have had the same issue with this establishment to add to this the owners were very unprofessional walking or should I say stumbling around drunk by 6 pm at an Easter dinner event with tons of people trying to eat dinner and young children eating Easter dinner with there families it was very unprofessional. Wish I could give 0 stars. A LONG wait and the restaurant wasn't even a 1/6 full. My fish tacos were fine- not great. My husband's street tacos....whoa. Barely anything in them. Some meat, a couple pieces of onions, a few pieces of mozzarella, no sauce. My daughter's personal pizza seemed good. My son's Cesar salad was ok. Manager said she would compensate part of the bill for the street tacos- she gave a lot of excuses for why it looked the way it did, then got a little combative. This restaurant charges the credit card service fee BEFORE you pay. Beware. We used to come here a lot. Used to be good. Not anymore. I can't imagine what it would be like with more people. Second time eating here. I really enjoy the summer vibes and having a roof top and open windows. When it's warm out it's a nice change from sitting indoors. Had the cod fish and chips and was very good. Family members have had the fish tacos and LOVED them. If you want a good fish dinner that isn't over priced... this is the spot. Update as of 7/2020: I have continued to support here during covid because of their outdoor seating. Food still does not disappoint. Fish tacos and street tacos are amazing. The meat in the street tacos is amazing. I kept them at 4 stars only because I do not agree on their menus. I don't see any way they can sanitize them and they are not clean. Arrived and there was nobody seating people or staff to be found for that matter. Finally got seated and had to ask for the table to be wiped down. Waitress instantly had an attitude at our request for the table wipe. Our appetizer was returned because it had no flavor. All of our drinks kept coming in different size glasses. My server today was Blake, and he was super attentive, and really great with helping me figure out what beer I wanted.I Highly recommend the LBC Amber Cream with the tacos btw. Visited on a fairly slow Sunday during covid when everyone was still required to have face masks. Don't have much to complain about. The service was good. The food came quick. Everything tasted as expected. Seems a lot of people haven't had the same experience? The atmosphere is cool. It's right next to Lake Lansing with an open-air concept as well as rooftop seating. A pretty cool place. The menu probably tries a little too hard. They offer grouper, which you don't see many places in Michigan. Not that that's a bad thing. They at least offer some creative things like a Perch Reuben (which was pretty good). Their tacos didn't skimp on fish and the fries were fine. This is a good place and I'm not sure why there are a lot of downer reviews. It's a touch different than most restaurant/pubs and has a solid variety of food. That passes my test. read more

I love this place. I recently found it and every time we have gone we have opted to sit outside on the patio upstairs which is amazing. The service is always friendly and pretty fast. We ordered a grilled salad and onion rings. The grilled salad was basic lettuce with a piece of warmed up chicken...southwest dressing watered down and thin. The portion was the size of a generous side salad at most... The onion rings were OK..nothing notable You can not have food on the open level...and you can not get the same beers that are available down stairs...the only thing I can give a thumbs up on was the live music.
