After so, many recommendations from a bunch of local people I finally got to try this place. One person told me to make reservations so I did and invited another couple to join us and even though the restaurant was closed till 4 PM, I was able to call in around 2:30 to make reservation reservations for my group. We came there and they right away, sat us down. We didn't even have to wait for anything and we ordered our food. The servers were outstanding and very hospitality. We ordered a seafood plate linguine and I ordered their burgers that came with fries and we were very satisfied and then my husband wanted to try a dessert because everything else taste wonderful. He really enjoyed the chocolate brownie dessert with ice ice cream. And then we got our BILL! The crazy thing about is that it was so cheap for everything we ordered. Our whole Bill with seafood plate linguine burger with fries and brownie with ice cream was $36 total. We were so shocked we haven't paid this low in such a long time for dinner especially a nice place and we were very satisfied with the meal. We arrived early on a Friday afternoon and were promptly seated on the outside gazebo; we loved being the only ones there for a while as it was very peaceful and relaxing. Kristin T. was a very friendly and attentive server making sure to check on us periodically and efficiently. We started with margaritas, which were delicious, and crab cakes appetizer. The Crab Cakes were tender-almost all crab meat, spectacular! We ordered a small Wedge Salad and Flounder-Scallops Plate and the Bowen's Grouper with Shrimp. Every single thing we ate was cooked to perfection and delicious. Ok, forget any reviews you read other than this. My wife and I tried this restaurant after reading nothing but great reviews. Nothing could be further than the truth. We started our evening at the bar for a cocktail before dinner. They had no Chardonnay at all for my wife. I ordered a Manhattan, but they had no sweet Vermouth. Not the bartenders fault (she was great). Let's move onto dinner...our waitress (rude) basically told us she wouldn't eat the Snapper (not fresh enough for her). She also wouldn't eat the ribs?? My wife settled for the lobster ravioli, but there was a hair in it. Now me, I ordered the ribeye, and it was a joke! It was like shoe leather and full of gristle. Bowen's Landing offers patio seating in addition to indoor seating. Peyton, our friendly and prompt server, recommended patio seating in the winter time. We tried the shrimp dip for an appetizer. It was very salty. We would not get it again but the crisp pita chips were good. We ordered the flounder with scallops. It was delicious. I wouldn't hesitate to order it again. We also ordered the shrimp pasta. It was a delightful dish and came with a side salad. The place was crowded, energy high, definitely a happening place. We went to Bowen's Landing today for a birthday dinner. Why wife and I both ordered the Filet Mignon and asked for medium rare. The steaks arrived with not a hint of pink, almost charred. They arrived with a side of 4 onion rings. There was no garnish, no butter, just a slab of meat. We sent them back and the replacements arrived a half hour later. While not overdone, they were both tough. To add insult to injury, they charged $42.00 for about a 6 oz filet and 4 onion rings. The service was fine and I admit they were busy. We wanted to like since it's a local restaurant, but we won't be going back. read more

I normally get a streak but wanted to try something different. I asked the waitress if the salmon was wild caught or farm raised and i was told ot was wild caught. Well i can tell you being from Alaska that this was definitely NOT wild caught. I was so disappointed in my dish. The salmon was not blackened at all, the salmon was light orange ( another clear indicator it was farm raised) the texture of the salmon was as if you had dipped bread into an egg mixture when making french toast.It was that soggy. The level of fishy taste was unbearable. The so called alfredo sauce was nothing but olive oil and butter and I never have to salt.My food and I had to salt it three times to get any flavor out of it. We also had 2 appetizers. It was supposed to be wedges of mozzarella. It was literally mozzarella sticks, then, we ordered the hush puppies and they were super dry.I don't know if it was just the day because we've had him before.And they've been amazing. The waitress was very nice and asked if I wanted something else. But I was not going to pay for another dish. And then when I got the bill and found out that it was a special of the day and it still cost $23.00 I was utterly shocked. Came here for dinner on a Tuesday night, and sat at the bar. First impression of the place was that it was a decently nice restaurant, serving primarily an older crowd. My server was friendly, and the food came out relatively fast. The food however, was very meh. I ended up getting the grouper as my entree with the scallops as an appetizer. The scallops were a good size, but didn't have much flavor, and were topped with Parmesan of all things. Not a fan. The grouper was also just ok. It was my 75th birthday and although we had never visited this restaurant before we had heard very good things about it from friends. As it was a warm and pleasant evening we decided to opt for dining on their patio; a very pleasant area with an open fireplace. As this was both my birthday and our first visit here we were offered complimentary deserts where my wife had the key lime pie and I had my favorite dish of homemade bread pudding with a drizzle of whisky sauce both of which were absolutely delicious. My wife and I and another couple met for dinner and even without reservations, were quickly seated by the very efficient staff. Our drink order was equally quick soon after being seated. Wait staff gave great service and our meals came pretty quick considering how busy they were. Salads were very good, as were the sides. I ordered a M-R fillet with baked potato with all the fixin's. Baked potato was very good with just the right proportions of butter, sour cream, etc. I'm sorry to say that the steak was awful. It came very rare--which I can tolerate if the quality is good, but this steak was riddled with fat and gristle. I may have salvaged two bites out of it. I did not want to make a fuss about it as we had invited guests for dinner, but it was the worst fillet I ever ordered and I'm in my 70's and order fillets all the time.
