The batter was light, crispy, and perfectly salted. The fried seafood platter was very lackluster. Unlike the calamari, the batter was soggy. Ok, this is going to be painful because the waitress was so nice but the food is horrible. We were the only diners at 7 p.m. on a Friday. The fried mushrooms were awful. "Flat" breading. - The cod was rubbery. I could not eat. Sent it back for fried catfish. Fishy. - -Tartar sauce is served in a plastic squeeze bottle and is runny. -Salad was just a very basic bowl of iceberg with three tiny slices of tomatoes and cucumber topped with mixed cheese. Dressing was like water and in a plastic squeeze bottle. - hushpuppies were the best thing, but not in the shape of a ball, but a small dog turd. - on the seafood platter, the best thing were the fried oysters. - baked potato was not even good. Served in foil and plain. You are given one plastic tube of sour cream and some margarine in those tiny cups (like at Wendy's or other fast food). No crackers on table. Before tip, $63. Very sad. They will be closed by October at this rate. read more

Hello , i would like to recommend this place if you want to enjoy your food peacefully! The special platter we got was very flavorful and not greasy at all. Sauces were good and not watered down plus the servers are very attentive and make sure you have it how you want it. The ambience is great overall, alot of parking as well. Blue Harbor is a newly opened seafood restaurant that isn't easily seen from FM 1960 but the Yelp location is accurate. There is plenty of parking available. Inside it's a large restaurant with a nautical decor. I visited for lunch and ordered the Friday special. It is a fillet of fried flounder with baby shrimp and comes with cole slaw, hush puppies, and a choice of fries, steamed veggies or a baked potato for $13. The food arrived less than 15 minutes later. I started with the small cup of slaw and liked it. There were a lot of fried shrimp (small to medium size) on the plate and one curled up piece of fish. Definitely more shrimp than fish. Taste wise they were good. The hushpuppies are not round but oblong in shape and had a good cornmeal taste. Finally the baked potato was hot and came with butter and sour cream on the side. This meal was a lot of food for the price and everything tasted good. The table service was warm and friendly. The lunch menu here is relatively inexpensive and the dinner menu rises in price by about 100%. read more

We enjoyed our spur of the moment visit on Saturday evening. The waitress was super nice and attentive. We ordered the sexy ceviche, you have the option of fish or shrimp and we chose to have it with fish. It tasted fresh, and had a good amount of spice. It was very delicious and was unlike any ceviche we have had. 10/10 recommend. We also ordered one of the fried platters that came with flounder, baby shrimp, deviled crab, fries and hush puppies. Everything came out hot and crispy. The fish was flaky and moist and the deviled crab had very nice flavour with an extra crispy crust. Unlike other reviews the tartar sauce was cold and thick and complimented the fish very nicely. We got this plus a soda for $34, and had enough food left to take back to our brother who also enjoyed it! We will be coming back! read more

This is a great family owned restaurant. My plate was well seasoned and hot. I tried the Fried Platter everyday special. They offered plain batter or salt and pepper. It was delicious and a great value. They even make a homemade hush puppy. I will be back, and I will recommend it to my family and friends. read more

I tried to give this place a chance since I was in the area, the french fries were not done, the shrimp lacked flavor, but were large in size, the hush puppies were not all the way done. How do you mess that up? The cook should've left fries and hush puppies in a few more minutes, soggy under cooked fries, yuck. Very disappointing, no wonder there was no one in the parking lot. I really don't see how this place can survive. Oh, and she ACCIDENTALLY charged me $5 for a large party when I ordered something to go. Never again. read more

This place recently opened, so we came by to check it out. We had early dinner on a Monday afternoon and my husband and I were the only customers. Within 5 minutes of being there, two bigger crowds came in. The lady who helped us was very kind and welcoming. We ordered a combination plate, catfish and shrimp, grilled flounder with grilled shrimp and steamed veggies. Both dishes came with hush puppies. I also ordered a tostada de aguachiles. We also ordered 6 piece wings, 3 naked, 3 hot. The grilled dish came with a house salad or you could pick coleslaw. The house salad was ehhh, (I'm not a fan of iceberg lettuce) your typical toppings, cheese, cucumber, tomato and your choice of dressing. The wait wasn't terribly long, especially since the lady serving us was pretty much doing it all on her own. Our dishes came out and they looked great. The flavor on both the fried and grilled dishes was excellent. The food was fresh and hot. The aguachiles tostada was so good! Just the right amount of spice and the crispiness of the purple/red onion was superb. Nothing fancy about the wings, but who comes to a seafood restaurant expecting the best wings. Since they recently opened, they were offering free drinks, which was nice of them. This place has potential, just needs the right amount of traffic. I was able to eat a delicious meal gluten free! Blue Harbor made my food from scratch and made it to my specifications. I ordered a mixed shrimp and octopus "mixto cocktel", which is sort of like ceviche with a tomato base. It was filled with nice sized shrimp (not baby shrimp) and octopus. Even without jalapeños or onions, it was slightly spicy, but super fresh and tasty! I also ordered a tostada. The scallops were tiny, but very soft and tender. The cilantro and avocado were a wonderful touch. Others in my party ordered the fried catfish, which they raved about and said it was the best they tasted. And coming from someone who is super picky about their food, it was a huge compliment. I was not able to eat the hush puppies, but the others in my party and people in the other Yelp reviews, all claim that it is a far superior hush puppy then they have ever had. All made in-house. The restaurant is quite new and does not seem to have very many patrons. Let's all support this local restaurant! They have two separate eating areas, which would make for a wonderful gathering place. And there are more than enough parking spaces. Everything tasted very fresh and made to order. The hostess/waitress was sweet, unbelievably accommodating and had no issues answering my questions about ingredients and changing up the dishes to fit my allergies. Blue Harbor is an excellent, casual seafood restaurant. It is relatively new to the area. My husband & I had a late lunch there today. He had the fried catfish, I had the broiled flounder and jumbo shrimp. The sides we chose were coleslaw, hush puppies (very tasty) and steamed veg's (broccoli, cauliflower and carrots). Went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. We were the only ones in the restaurant, I think that if you could see them from 1960 they might get better traffic. Food was good! We ordered the jumbo fried shrimp and fried Cod fish. It was lightly battered which was nice because you can taste the food. Nice size portions too. Service was fast and she was very nice.
