The food is excellent, and the Halibut and Shrimp in the Cedar Boat is on my list of my favorites on the menu. It has a sweet honey ginger cream sauce that pairs well with the broccoli and sautéed coleslaw. The shrimp are huge and were cooked to perfection. The fish has a wonderful crabmeat stuffing on top as well that pairs nice with the perfectly cooked fish. Bella is a great server as well. She was very attentive and let me enjoy my 4 course meal. Rolita and David and the whole staff are amazing and create a positive welcoming atmosphere. The lighting is amazing while listening to smooth jazz. This has been my best restaurant experience yet. I will keep coming back, and I highly recommend this place. I will be back for more.The Chang's Seabass and the White Chocolate Bread Pudding are a must as well. BEWARE. My family visited earlier this week, and my mother (71) and grandmother (89) both got violently ill after sharing a sushi roll here. What followed was days of severe vomiting and diarrhea -- genuinely alarming given their age and how quickly dehydration can become dangerous for older adults. Finding a decent/subpar sushi spot in Spring has always been tough, but this experience takes this restaurant off our list for good. This place has been here for a very long time & yet we just recently tried them out. Glad we did as the menu had a good variety of food. While it primarily focuses on seafood, there were still plenty of other dishes including Italian and Asian cuisine. We started of with an order of calamari that our table shared. The seasoning on the calamari was fantastic, which is something I find lacking in other places sometimes. My husband ordere a pasta dish, my daughter order potstickers, and I ordered chicken with lemon sauce, capers, and grilled veggies. This is a wonderful family-owned restaurant in an area where I only know of corporate chains. My husband and I met up with some family who all live out there and it was our first time dining here. The interior is of a rustic fish shack interior that offers a full bar and an aquarium. I have had the blackened redfish lunch menu entree for $16 and added a side salad for another $3.50. The salad consisted of greens, cheese and a couple of cherry tomatoes with ranch dressing. The entree arrived later with a chipotle crabmeat sauce slathered over the redfish with grilled vegetables on the side. It was a good tasting meal that I enjoyed. On another occasion I tried their special of the day which was a pork ribeye in a mushroom cream sauce and mashed potatoes for lunch at $13. This meal was also good tasting with the mashed potatoes served in a separate baking cup. On both visits the table service was professional and attentive. Having lived in the area, I always passed it up. Never judge a book by its cover, because this place did not disappoint. It's a mix of being a place you can bring your family too or for a date night. Not knowing the vibe there, and thinking it was a regular seafood grill, we brought our toddler, and he was dazzled with the big fish tank that illuminated the table we sat at. We were the last ones to come in and the owner personally attended us along with the waiter and took their time speaking of the dishes and ingredients used. To start, we had the spicy margarita and as a margarita snob, this did not disappoint and is now a place I can attend regular without going far. We ordered based on the owners recommended dishes, and my goodness, I'm so glad we did. The ravioli appetizer was delicious and honestly the sea bass is the best fish dish I've had in a very long time. I forgot the names of the dishes but I made sure to take photos! My wife and I went to visit Red Seafood and Grill for lunch on my birthday. It had been awhile since we had dined there. We patronized them more in 2003 when they first opened. We were greeted promptly when we arrived and seated right in front of their gorgeous salt water fish tank. We were greeted by our server Ephraim and given our menus. It would have been nice if the special of the day would have been described and recommended, but no worries as usual I had cruised the menu online prior to arriving. We were promptly asked what drinks we would like and served in a timely manner. I ordered the blackened redfish and my wife ordered the grilled grouper. Both dishes were prepared perfectly, presented well, and the food temp when delivered our our table was on point. Rolls were served with the meal and they were just ok. Their are many types of rolls on the commercial market that I believe would have complimented the quality of the entrees much better. Since it was my birthday I wanted dessert. I ordered the white chocolate bread pudding and my wife ordered the tiramisu. Both desserts were fabulous. My wife mentioned my birthday to Ephraim and the comped both desserts. That was an awesome thing to do, and topped off a great dining experience. Parking is not a problem, and the restroom was clean but in my humble opinion in need of an renovation. I made the one hour drive to be able to experience similar menu items to Blue Onyx which is no longer open. My family and I were the first customers when the restaurant opened for dinner. While our waiter was great, the chef David Chang made a point to mingle and converse with other patrons and not my table of three. Despite me coming there and inquiring about items that were at the previous restaurant and generously ordering food and beverages, Chef Chang did not speak or offer the warm interactions that he did the other later arriving patrons. The only conclusion that I can come to is that he chose not to offer a Black family the same service. In this climate and economy, I am more mindful of whom I support and would recommend that nobody else does either. read more
