We stopped in after lunch, but before Happy Hour. The restaurant was empty so we opted to sit at the bar and were greeted by Ashley. We ordered the crawfish pistollet, always a must with any meal. It's toasty and savory, I have no other way to describe it other than perfection. This location recently received new menus that are bright, colorful, and easy to read. We opted for the lunch menu. The grilled chicken breast is served with melted cheese and sautéed mushrooms over a bed of shrimp fried rice. The chicken was moist and grilled perfectly. This is a happening place. I love the atmosphere here. The table setup for a crawfish boil was great. I saw that they prepared the tables with bibs and gloves for those who purchased those meals. I love that! I want to come back and try it out here. I did order the fisherman's platter and couldn't finish it. There was so much food. It was delicious! My husband ordered the Texas Redfish combo and enjoyed his meal as well. The fried green tomatoes were seasoned well and I love the different sauces to use with this. Now I will say the service could've been better because I heard several tables near us frustrated waiting for the waiter to order their meal. I am a fan of Bluewater and visit this location and the OG location about 7 miles to the east on FM 1960 from time to time. However I only order one item from their menu and nothing else. My favorite is the blackened catfish regular size that comes with one fillet with shrimp fried rice, buttered toast and my chosen side of the grilled vegetables for $12.49. They have a larger version with 2 fillets for $16.79. The plate comes with one plump blackened catfish fillet on top of a bed of shrimp fried rice. Next to it is a mound of grilled veggies and all of this is slightly covered in a butter sauce that is the secret to its success. I love the taste of this meal and think of it as comfort food. The toast can be used to mop up some of the sauce at the bottom of the plate adding to the enjoyment. This location has parking in its strip center along with an unpaved lot next to it. They have a large outdoor dining area with a bar and open sides that can be closed due to the weather. There is a separate bar area inside and table service has always been very good too. read more

I consider myself a somewhat regular at Bluewater Seafood. I go there about twice a month and spend a fair amount. But over the past 6 to 12 months, the food and service have gone downhill. Super salty crab legs, old crawfish, inconsistency in recipes.... But today left me in disbelief. I ordered one cluster of Snow Crab legs, I told the server I couldn't eat more than that. The price quoted was a little over $17. Well, they brought me two clusters. I thought, their mistake. It happens. And when the check came, they billed me for two clusters. I politely pointed out the issue. (By the way, I didn't even finish the first cluster because the meat was too salty. And I had asked ahead of time if "the salty cook" was cooking.) I had the leftovers in a to go box thinking I'd feed it to my dogs. The manager came over and told me I had to give back the second cluster of crab legs if she was going to correct the bill! She tried to shame me like I was pulling some kind of scam! I very politely and nicely took the second cluster out of my to go box and handed it to her and she walked away. I've spent hard earned money at Bluewater Seafood about twice a month for more than 10 years. And that's how I was treated. That was my experience, but give it a try and make your own judgement. read more

We came here after work for a coworkers birthday. The food was delicious and the drinks were on point as well. We had jalapeño bites, crawfish, and I ordered the red fish. We started our meal wit' a couple cups of loaded gumbo, shrimp, crab and sausage....very tasty and loaded with lots of good-sized shrimp. My wife enjoyed a six count plate of coconut shrimp which I helped her with. She got sweet potato fries and hush puppies, all 5 stars. The fries must have looked good to our grandbaby because he snatched one off her plate while I was trying to take a picture of it. I was intrigued by the boudin burger, glad i ordered it because it was amazing. Half a pound of ground beef with boudin mixed in, cheese, lots of bacon, grilled mushrooms, jalapenos, avocado and pico de gallo. Came with fries and a couple onion rings. Great night for a chill dinner and baseball. Came in to watch the Yankee game and have a good meal. The hostess allowed me to choose a seat of my choice and took my drink order to help with service. The crawfish was incredible, I ordered the roasted garlic flavor and it was packed with flavor without being overpowering. Perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. First off let me say the customer service was very good. No complaints in regards to the staff members at all. But the crawfish was disappointing. I ordered three pounds of their original old bay seasoned crawfish with extra seasoning and two extra potatoes and one boiled egg. Let's start with the extra potatoes, I was told while placing the order it comes with one potato and one corn so I only ordered two more but as you can see by the picture there's only two. So I was charged for two more but only received one. Next the crawfish, there was no extra seasoning anywhere. It actually lacked seasoning! The flavor was horrible and gritty and there's no way old bay is used in this boil. The crawfish was a decent size and hot to touch so I will for sure give them that but the taste is nothing I would want to taste again. I also asked for garlic to be added to the boil but instead it was just sprinkled on top after everything was plated into the container. Do better bluewater. 4/10 overall. read more

We went with the Bluewater OG seasoning - spicy and garlicky. Delicious flavors! The shrimp, corn, purists, andouille side were excellent too! The crab clusters were worth the additional charge. The blackened salmon dish was delicious and moist. The kid's meals were large for the 7 & 4 y/o children in the family. Clean inside and out. I like that they gave us bibs and gloves. There is a bucket and roll of paper towels to stay clean. They also had a bottle of the dry seasoning at the table. Parking lot has a paved portion and a gravel area for additional parking. We really enjoyed this place. We'll be back and quote recommend. We were able to walk right in and get a table. Though it was a wait for service after we sat down. The waiter suggested the special they had where if you bought 2 crab leg clusters you go one free and that's what I went with. The flavor was good, though it was not spicy at all when I asked for spicy. The pistolet didn't have a ton of flavor either. The hurricane was delicious. There were some flies in the restaurant, it might be from the front door opening so much. But it's distracting when you're eating. On-site parking. The young lady that took care of us, Arly, was the BEST! Ask for her if you go She came to check on us throughout the meal to make sure we had everything we needed. We wanted for nothing with her. We had everything we needed. I had the one pound of boiled shrimp, potatoes, and corn with their spicy sauce. It was the perfect amount of spice. Full of flavor and not overwhelming with the amount of spices used. This will become my usual when I visit. The vibe of the restaurant was great also. Good flavor and fresh enough. I had a platter with grilled or sautéed oysters, scallops, and fish. The platter was pretty good, tender. It wasn't super flavorful but mild. We didn't like the oyster part though. Kind of a weird textural thing and a higher fishy flavor which kind of threw us off. The not so great was the etouffee. It was so bland comparatively to other places. It took a lot of black pepper, some salt, and hot sauce to doctor it up. The gumbo was also just ok. Not the worst, not the best. My friend had an appetizer with bacon wrapped jalapeños and those were very good. Would come back again for some things. Pricing is reasonable. read more

I used to come here all the time back in the day. Decided to make a stop in and couldn't have been more disappointed. First we ordered the kids food just so it came out and they were good. With that we ordered some cold shrimp for appetizers. For our meals we ordered the create your own boil. The waitress was trying to tell us that everything is made fresh but then went on to admit that everything comes frozen, even the lobster tail. So we passed on the tail and went for all crab. The boil came out about 45 minutes later with no other food. So they finally bring the kids food out after we ask about it. The burger was missing fries because I'm sure it had been sitting under the heat lamp and forgotten about so they made new fries. Now, we started breaking into the crab and it was freezing cold and felt like rubber. You could barely even get it out of the shell without it just crumbling into strips. I don't think I've ever had crab that was THAT BAD. We made our complaints known and Daniel the manager came to try to make things right. We even said we'd pay for the boudin balls which was the only good thing we had but he refused. Hopefully he gets some support from the owners to bring quality up. Anyways. We ordered 5lbs of crawfish for 3 people that came with potatoes/corn and added sausage. As someone who's had many styles of crawfish from all over Houston, this place was very disappointing when it came to crawfish. My parents said it tasted frozen (like they cooked it previously and saved it for later), and the flavor of the crawfish itself was not something I was a fan of. The size of the crawfish was all over the place so I suspect they purchase sacks of mixed sizes. The juice inside tasted like they seasoned the water with chicken bullion and a lot of cumin, which was something I wasn't a fan of, and lacked depth in the flavor outside of tasting just that. I'm assuming for happy hour. I ordered the boiled shrimp w/ spicy garlic. Pretty tasty but there was an off spice that made it a bit bitter. Like burnt old bay. I didn't care for it but the shrimp were cooked well. Not overcooked. I got the crawfish pistolet. Pretty simple and tasty. Basically crawfish queso in bread. Bread was a bit too toasty on the outside. Also got the lunch friend shrimp and catfish. Catfish was perfectly cooked. Shrimp was over fried and bland. Shrimp definitely was not fresh. It was one of those frozen panko butterfly shrimp. Fries were decent. Love the build and design. Way more space indoor and out but IMO the champions location is better flavor wise. read more

Mr. Pickey tried the sweet potato fries for the first time and decided he liked those a lot better than the regular fries and the onion rings . And I ordered a side of coleslaw, which we both agreed was really quite good as the crunch was still there, and it was very fresh tasting with a slightly sweet sauce--easy to tell they make it themselves. I was deeply disappointed by my experience at Blue Water Restaurant. I was there with my family, including my grandchildren, and we've dined at this place many times without incident. But tonight was very, very unfair. Despite paying nearly $500 and leaving a $90.00 tip because the waitress forgot to add the gratuity, the service was abysmal. The waitress checked on us only twice, got multiple parts of our order wrong, and, at the end, after paying our bill. her friend a former waitress who was drunk As f*#+ followed us outside accusing us of not paying, even though we had. When we asked for help, the manager was unhelpful and dishonest. In fact, the same waitress (Erin) interrupted us as we spoke to the manager, asking for a shirt for her friends who were the same who chased after us to acuse us of not paying. On top of all this, we felt racially profiled, as the waitress treated us unfairly, seemingly because we are Hispanic. I cannot recommend this place at all, and we will not be returning read more
