Back at Blue Haven South again. My favorite sports bar in NYC. Great drinks, great food, great sporty vibe with all the sports on probably 40 TVs. But most of all hands down the best bartenders and service in town. To the names of the previous bartenders with whom I have interacted, I have to add Autumn, Ava, and Andrea!!! Love this place so much!

Rueben Sandwhich not edible. We had two sandwiches that were all fat and no meat. Meat was tough.

I really liked this place. I think the old Ainsworth used to be here. Y'all know the one, on Fulton street in the financial district. I didn't know why it seemed so much larger but I went with some colleagues. They had happy hour and we got some really good drinks. I did the watermelon margarita. So good, made with fresh watermelon juice! We also ordered a bunch of food. We shared buffalo wings, fries, guac, quesadilla and everything was tasty. Perfect bar food. Tons of TVs everywhere so if you're looking for a sports bar, this is it. We went during the US Open so tennis was on. The waitress was so nice and I had a great time. I'd definitely make that a regular happy hour spot for an afterwork drink or mixer.

Great sports bar with lots of TVs and a wide variety of drinks! It's much larger on the inside than it looks, so there's different sections of the bar with different vibes and liveliness. We sat at the bar and only had drinks, so I can't speak to the food, but the wings next to us smelled great! Overall, a fun spot to catch some sports! We really appreciated that they did a collab with Wilka's to celebrate the NCAA WBB final!

A Guinness from Blue Haven South. Not mine though.

I'll keep this one more on the short side since I don't have much to say on this. I had some friends visiting from faraway Finland and they were doing their tourism thing to absorb as much of the city as possible. The overall plan initially was to meet in Manhattan once they had walked over the Brooklyn Bridge and then head into Chinatown for some eats. Sadly, they opted to eat in Brooklyn and ran on the late side to meet so that dinner part was off the table. Having walked so much they were quite thirsty, and being Finns a cold beer or two was high on the agenda. As I haven't drank in a few years, I very rarely pop into the bars and didn't know much of the area that I was once familiar with the establishments of but luckily we quickly found Blue Haven South that welcomed us all in. There were seven of us in all so they brought us to a spacious table in the back and we were attended to by the awesome Lor. I will guess this was short for Lauren or Laura. The friends had pints of Guinness, a couple of shots and then some Corona's while I stuck with a Sprite and water. Adventurous I know. Since they already ate, I was the only one ravenous and ordered a batch of buffalo chicken tenders and some french fries. There was a more expansive menu but I felt having things for others to pick at was a better idea. They were playing solid tunes and there were a whole lot of televisions showing assorted sporting events. The overall ambience seemed fine and since its near the courts and some of the further up Wall Street offices the crowd was a nice mix of professionals. One thing to point out was how spacious it seemed to be. There were a few sections that you could secure yourself away and if you are someone who hosts regular networking events, you would be able to do that without being cramped into the mix of everyone else. I am going to recommend this spot to friends who do that and keep this on my area recommendations list so I can go again. I will still with the Sprite of course but might look into a burger of something else next time. Thanks to the friendly and quick moving staff. Oh yeah there is also some WiFi if you must get TikToks and Instagrams up right away.

Super live, super lit! Don't worry about trying to think here. It's way too loud to care & that's exactly how we want game night right?! Watching the Lions with the NYers and it's fun!

RAGS IN FOUR!!!!! Came here to chug beer towers and watch a ranger's game. The staff is incredibly hype and so attentive. if you want to see a certain game, they will accommodate you. Every time the rangers scored, they'd come around with a bubble gun and a horn. In between periods, loud/fun music was playing and everyone got on their chairs to dance and sing along. Started with two beer towers, ended with many rounds of shots.

This bar used to be The Fulton and Ainsworth years ago. Honestly, if I didn't look at the awning, they all look the same inside. A quick drink before dinner at Blue Haven was a convenient choice since it is steps from the subway station. My friend arrived earlier and we sat at the bar. It was a quiet night with the lights being a tad too bright but whatever. I ordered an Aperol Spritz which wasn't executed very well. I mentioned it to the bartender who resolved the issue by adding more Aperol and Club soda. Scratching my head with that call to action. Blue Haven is a decent pit stop for whatever--drinks, appetizers or perhaps a meal.

I was starving when I arrived in NYC, but I wasn't in the mood for pizza. Luckily, I stumbled upon a real gem while waiting to check into my hotel. I arrived during lunchtime, so the sports bar was fairly empty, but it was still very inviting with TVs everywhere. It was the perfect spot for sports and beer! After perusing the menu, I asked the bartender for recommendations, and she suggested the buffalo chicken wrap. It was packed with flavor and so hearty! I was thrilled that it came with honey mustard, which was the perfect complement to the wrap. The food was so good that I couldn't finish it all, so I took the other half with me and enjoyed it later. I washed it down with a Tito's and cranberry, which was the perfect drink to accompany my meal. I also tried the guacamole, and it was delicious! The girls next to me raved about their quesadilla and wings, too. I'm disappointed that I didn't have time to explore more of the menu, but I know that when I'm back in this area of NYC, Blue Haven will be at the top of my list. Enjoy!

A very solid 4. Large upscale sports bar with 12$ lunch specials during the week. Beth was on point and made us feel so welcome. Pulled pork sandwich surprisingly good as was the Mexican salad. Food 2 levels above normal sports bars.

Found my new favorite sports bar in downtown Manhattan! Big on the Rangers, Knicks, and Yankees games. Amazing crowd if ya know what I mean (lots of women) and I nearly fell in love with several staff members. Wings and mozzarella sticks were delicious! Walking distance from the ferry terminal and concert venues like Pier 17 at the south street sea port. Will be returning here often!

Taking off a star because I had a weird experience with the people at the front. I'm currently recovering from an injury and I'm in a pretty obvious neck brace. I was visiting with two people who were on their way and would be arriving in about 10-15 minutes and the people at the front told me I couldn't be seated until they arrived. I understand that this is normal protocol, but I pointed out my neck brace and asked if an exception could be made because it's significantly more comfortable for me to sit down (and there was no room at the bar). They said that their manager wouldn't let them do that, and that they couldn't seat me until the rest of my party was there. There were tons of table tables available the entire time and when my friend arrived about 12 minutes later, they seated us, I totally could've sat the whole time and it wouldn't have been a problem. Not the end of the world and I probably could've pushed it harder, but it definitely was a little awkward!

I ordered a turkey sandwich and a drink and settled in to watch the game. The first issue was that the sandwich took over 45 minutes to arrive, and nobody mentioned the delay or checked in about it. Annoying, but not the end of the world during a packed Finals game. What happened next was. After I finished my drink, one bartender - a larger guy with curly hair - picked up my empty can, banged it on the bar twice, and said, "Bro, do you want another one?" I replied, "I'm good for now, thanks." He then told me, "You need to keep ordering drinks if you want to keep your seat. There are lots of people behind you drinking who would take your seat." I honestly thought he was joking. I told him I had already ordered food and a drink, arrived early, and was there to watch the game. He basically repeated that if I wasn't continuing to order drinks, someone else would take my spot. I've been going to bars for over 20 years and have never had a bartender tell me I needed to keep buying alcohol in order to keep a seat after already ordering food and drinks. I've certainly never had one say it in such a rude and confrontational way. To be clear, my issue is not with the rest of the staff. Everyone else seemed to be working hard during an incredibly busy night, and I still left a 20% tip because I know tips are shared. My issue is with one bartender who apparently thinks pressuring customers into buying more drinks is acceptable customer service. There are plenty of great places in NYC to watch a game. This was my first visit to True North, and unfortunately it will be my last.
