Small selection of bar snacks but we tried the guac and chips those were good, home made tortilla chips. The mozzarella sticks were so good we ordered 2 rounds lol. Great cheese pull. Then we decided fo do an order of calamari pro tip order some marinara. Its better then the sauce it comes with. I had a Moscow mule and a jalepeno margarita amazing. We stumbled into this place on St. Patrick's day. It wasn't really busy at all, but it was a Monday. I felt really cheated on March 17 with getting light "pint" of Guinness in a plastic cup when there were proper glasses behind the bar. The bartender was friendly and nice. read more

Nice hh spot if you work nearby. It's close to the wall st (2/3) station. There is hh from 4-7pm (e.g. beer, wine, etc.). The food was decent bar food (e.g. wings, quesadilla, chicken fingers). It does get loud but if you get a table in the back then noise level is ok. Friendly service! read more

The Fulling Shilling is a Irish Pub located in downtown Manhattan, near the financial district. This was my first time in Manhattan in over 10+ years and my first time going to The Full Shilling. The restaurant is quite large! As soon as you walk in, the restaurant immediately opens up to a bar and plenty of table seating. We had a party of 5, around lunch time at 12:30. We had no issues getting seated at the time and reservations weren't required. The service is tremendous! The team member at The Full Shilling seated us and provided menus. There were so many delicious items on their menu such as the shepherd's pie, but ultimately, I had to choose their corned beef sandwich on rye bread! The ambiance is loud and fun inside The Full Shilling! All of our meals came out in approximately 20 minutes. There was so much food! I couldn't finish the corned beef sandwich with a side of French Fries. The corned beef was flavorful! The rye bread enhance the overall meal. The French Fries were fried perfectly and seasoned well. Abience of an old Irish pub. Unlike the old NY days, staffed by local New Yorkers. Good, pleasant service, but takes a little away from the authentic nature of the place (don't think any NY pub has real Irish staff anymore, except many still do as bartenders). It is a place that is ideal for drinks and a hearty meal in a super casual setting. It is a quality option for afterwork shindigs for Wall Streeters and downtown residents. The exterior is a bit deceiving, as it doesn't give away how big this place really is. The bar is extensive, stocked with spirits with a nice sized counter. Apart from the bar, the dining room is pretty spacious and enough to catch most people by surprise. It's not the most well lit in here, but that's the plus side of an intimate feel in pub fashion. Irish pub with a bar bite feel is the best way I can describe their food. Their sandwiches and burgers are their biggest winners but folks looking for something light or hearty are sure to find it on this menu. I haven't tried their shepherd's pie just yet, but I've heard good things. Drinks wise, the standard run of the mill options are available and they most certainly have Guinness on tap. Service is the strongest asset. The bartenders are friendly, the managers are professional, and the crowds are never too overwhelming here. I've been here twice and haven't taken pictures. This is based on my most recent visit. I had the sirloin sandwich on garlic bread. It was delicious. I asked for the sirloin to be rare and it was cooked perfectly. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The sauce was flavorful. I ordered a side salad instead of fries. The vinaigrette was really light and perfect to accommodate the heavy sandwich. The happy hour drink prices are honored at the tables too. The place is nice. A little dark inside. Warm and feel good, neighborhood bar right next to my work place. We often meet here for happy hours or quick work lunches. They have an excellent lunch menu and good selection of beers and wines. Nice little Irish pub located near Wall street in the financial district in lower Manhattan. The inside decor is cool, with the paneling and walls flown in from Dublin. It's pretty much your standard pub set up, but the fact that there's not a whole lot of places to go out at in the area, this may be one of your best bets, if your hotel happens to be around here, which mine was. The food specials look great (I happened to be there on a day that lamb shank was a special but ordered a turkey burger instead). Let me begin by saying that the turkey burgers here are delicious! A great Irish restaurant/bar. I was able to eat here 2 nights. 1st was in setting area, I had the Shepherd Pie. I cannot say enough about it. Great flavors and a prefect mix as you dig it. Came here on a Sunday afternoon to grab some pub food. The bar is really pretty and looks like an Authentic Irish pub. There are 3 huge flat screens in the back and it must be packed during games. We were the only customers but it was a rainy day and this place is not on a busy street during the weekends. I ordered the chicken BLT and my bf got the Cajun chicken sandwich. Happy hour is just for drinks, without any food choices. However, their food options are reasonably priced compared to where we were in Philadelphia. Fish tacos, fish and chips, Cobb salad were solid choices. The french fries were a bit soggy, but it came with a side of ketchup and tartar sauce that were well seasoned. Cobb salad was a little warm for my taste, but the portion size was awesome. We accommodated putting a blue cheese on the side and gave me a great portion to. With an office full of people from Belfast, Ireland and other areas of the UK, the place has become a regular for my co-workers. They love the interior because it reminds them of home. The very large dining area in the back is a favor for some quiet chatting or some noise celebrating. For me it is only a short walk from our office building so it is easy to run down for a drink and snack and run back to finish some late work. We usually start with a Half Platter for $36; it includes wild wings, mozzarella sticks, crisp fried calamari, chicken fingers with sauces and garnish with veggie sticks. They have a full platter for $52 but everyone prefers the half platter for some reason. The cocktails are mostly $10 each (favors are the Hazelnut chocolate martinis) so it is beer for most of us. On Thursday, December 16, 2021 I went to Full Shilling (160 Pearl Street, NY NY 10005) with my coworkers to celebrate the holidays. At the bar Jack took my order. He was rude, short, and not at all friendly or engaging . Not even when I mistakenly gave him my BJs card to use as payment (I thought it was my BOA card). The rest of the evening he spent his time at the opposite end of the bar, serving folks down there smiling and enjoying his job. It just so happened that those folks were Caucasian and the majority of the folks on my end of the bar were Hispanic, Indian and African American like myself. We constantly had to over extend ourselves in order to get his attention. When he would finally come he would be rude and short. We ordered shots and an order fries, they never came. I asked Jack was he ok because he was giving off negative energy. As he was snatching up napkins and straws he rudely informed me that they were short staffed and it was a rough day. I said "ok but I don't need your attitude" Jack said "then fuck off and get the fuck out!" And walked away. Shocked and appalled I took my complaint to the manager Evelyn who in return said to me "well I'm not going to take your word for it, there's two sides to every story" as if I'm going to interrupt my good time with my coworkers to make a false allegation in the middle of a noisy bar. I took offense to both Jack's and Evelyn's behavior. Jack had an extremely poor and negative attitude and customer service the entire night and Evelyn the same when I gave my complaint. I felt that i was treated that way because I'm African American because afterwards saw both Evelyn and Jack laughing and enjoying a good time with my Caucasian coworkers and other white patrons but not giving an ounce of that joy to me or my other minority coworkers. Oddly enough though, the fries finally came and the ended up being on the house. Why thanks! I will never return to that establishment. I told all of my coworkers the negative experience that I had with the bartender Jack and Evelyn the manager. I will also share my experience verbally and on social media. I hope that Full Shilling can expand their staff so that Jack can be more pleasant to the minority patrons. read more

We stopped in on a slow Saturday night. Our server was also the bartender and bar back. She was attentive and friendly. The French onion soup was hot and delicious. It was not too salty and the cheese was flavorful. Shepherds pie was hot, just the right size for the big manly appetite of my date. Mashed potatoes were fresh and light. Meat filling was juicy. No peas in the pie- carrots were crunchy and yummy though. Our friends had burgers that were perfectly cooked on fresh buns. It was nice that it wasn't crowded and we could all talk. I have lived in NYC for years; in Murray Hill, Chelsea, the UWS, and I think this is one of my favorite bars in the whole city. The food is incredible at the price point (especially the fish and chips!). The drinks are fairly priced and poured with a heavy hand. The service is top notch and the establishment is clean and well decorated. I hate reviews that say things like "nothing extraordinary" or "what you'd expect" - don't come here for a white table cloth tasting menu. The Full Shilling is one of those NY Irish Pubs, that's been around for a while, that's not hip or expensive or trying to serve fancy cocktails or fancy food. It is what it is - a standard NY Irish pub. What I mean by that, is that if I think of a true Irish pub, without any NY influence, then I'd say the Dead Rabbit nearby is that place. That being said, it's much more expensive and not as easy to just walk in, grab a pint and sit down for food. Most of the time you need reservations, it's packed, etc. Molly's (on 3rd ave) is another authentic Irish Pub, but it's been fairly NY influenced, in my opinion. The Full Shilling on the other hand is user friendly. You can almost always get a table or seat at the bar, there's no reservations needed and it's never really packed, so you don't have to wait 10 minutes to get your drink or have your drink made. Plus, the Interior of the Bar and the back bar was Shipped directly from Belfast, Ireland and is over 100 Years Old. So that's pretty cool. I've been coming here since 2003 when I worked nearby at Deutsche Bank, and was definitely one of our after-work spots as there was literally NOTHING in the Financial District, other than a few hole-in-the wall bars at that time. Came here for Lunch on St. Patty's Day 2016. Got a Guinness & a Burger, both were good. The Food overall is pretty good pub food, but nothing spectacular. I'd put the Full Shilling in the same category as some of the other NY Irish Pubs in the city (below), although these are my favorites, over the Full Shilling to be honest: Molly's (on 3rd ave) Paddy Reilly's Landmark Tavern Failte Paddy Maguire's Puck Fair Dublin House Donovan's Pub (queens) McSorley's O'Hara's So if you're in the Financial District and want something more "Irish" then go to Dead Rabbit, and if you want something more "New Yawk" then go to O'Hara's, which was the pub of choice for all the 9/11 Responders (NY cops, firemen, etc.). But, if you're looking for a good blend, a "NY Irish Pub", which is something down the middle, then the Full Shilling is a great option. read more
