Communication was excellent during both the booking process and the trip itself. Everything was well organized and clearly taken care of. The dive itself was exceptional, with loggerhead turtles, goliath groupers, lemon sharks, and bull sharks all making appearances. The next day I booked a guided night dive at Blue Heron Bridge with Ethan. Once again, the communication was top-notch. Ethan was a fantastic guide, expertly taking us to several micro-environments and pointing out an incredible variety of critters--many of which I had never seen before, even though I had visited the bridge a couple of times previously.

Before booking, we were very clear that we were relatively new divers and had never done a drift dive. We specifically expressed that we wanted to feel safe and properly supported. We were assured it would be fine, but once we were in the water, the support simply wasn't there. There was very little help with weights at the start. I quickly realized I was underweighted and had to go back and get more, which immediately separated me from the group. From there, things only got worse. I ended up alone on the reef during a drift -- something that should never happen -- and ultimately had to surface solo and wait for the boat by myself. To make matters worse, my surface marker/flag device wouldn't inflate properly, and I had to be picked up alone. At no point did I feel like anyone from the team was proactively ensuring I was safe or accounted for. Afterward, the only response I received was essentially, "Sorry you had a bad experience." That was the extent of the support. The diving itself may be beautiful, but the staff's lack of attentiveness and concern for client safety and experience was deeply disappointing. When newer divers communicate nervousness and inexperience with drift diving, that should be taken seriously -- not brushed aside. This wasn't about conditions or bad luck. It was about a lack of care and leadership. I would not recommend this operation to newer divers, and I left feeling unsettled rather than excited about the dive.

Do NOT recommend…read more I'll be straightforward: there is no way the glowing reviews for this place reflect what's actually happening here. My experience at Force-E Scuba Center on Blue Heron Blvd was the single worst gear rental I've had anywhere in the world; I've rented in Maui, Bali, and plenty of other places in between. I came in the night before renting to check availability. The woman working that evening was friendly, helpful, and told me no reservations were needed and that they do fittings. Great first impression. I came back the next morning ready to go. She wasn't there. A younger staff member assisted us, and from the very first question we asked, he made it obvious that we were an inconvenience. When we asked the difference between a snorkel vest and a life jacket, because we'd never used one, he was visibly irritated. When we asked how to inflate the snorkel vest, he had the same irritated reaction. Any question we had was met with visible disdain, like we were wasting his time for wanting to understand equipment we'd never used prior. When I asked about fittings and mentioned the woman the night before had said they do them, he just said in a visibly upset manner "no." One word. No explanation. The equipment itself was dirty when we received it. There was grime and buildup which we had to wash off ourselves back at the hotel before we could even put it on. And for the price they charge, a defogger isn't included. You pay extra for that. Every other rental shop I've used where they charge similarly to this place has always included it without the need to ask it. Once we got in the water, it got worse. The snorkel vest I was wearing auto-deflated on its own throughout the entire session, forcing me to stop swimming repeatedly just to re-inflate it. The masks leaked. The snorkels functioned for about half the time and then started letting water in despite a proper seal on the mouthpiece; near the end, the airflow was blocked altogether. It wrecked the experience entirely. We returned everything immediately and mentioned the faults when we did. They dismissed it without a second thought. The return itself was its own ordeal. The older man behind the register told me to go wash the equipment outside in a very rude manner; this had never been shared with us. When I went out and cleaned them, he accused me out loud, in front of other customers, that I hadn't washed them. I told him clearly: "I received this equipment dirty, and it's cleaner now than when I got it." He turned red, started making frustrated noises, and just stood there expressing his irritation with body language while I waited silently for him to take the equipment. He eventually told another employee to "just process the return to get him out of here." I shouldn't have had to defend myself for returning rental gear in better condition than I received it. Pro: They're open late. That's genuinely the only positive thing I can say, and even that led me here, so it doesn't count for much. Con: Faulty equipment that ruined a day of snorkeling while on vacation, gear that was dirty from the moment it was handed over, a staff that ranged from dismissive to outright hostile, a defogger that is not included despite how much you already pay, and a return process where a staff member yelled at me in front of other customers for no valid reason. All of it could've been avoided by going literally anywhere else. Tip: Don't come here. Find another shop. The equipment fails, the staff is hostile, and you'll spend your vacation frustrated instead of enjoying the water.
