The BaDaBing sandwich is the way to go! It's the absolute perfect combination of breads, meats, mustard, peppers and 22 years of commitment from these awesome women at the Blue Heron!

The area where this restaurant is located is a blessing. Staff serve with sincerity and love. When you enter the door of the store, you will be greeted with a warm welcome. I eat love today and leave. First time? Ask chef's favorite sandwich!

Not a great place for good coffee at least by Seattle standards. The coffee is similar tasting to instant.

OMG, these were some of the best sandwiches we've had. I had the mean sandwich and my partner had the steak tartare. Their homemade mustard on the mean made the sandwich. The sandwiches are substantial on their own but the bag of fried potatoes make this a filling meal. First time here and we'll definitely be back. Thanks!

There's actually a hidden backyard seating area that's dog friendly. Owner was super friendly and went around asking about everyone's experiences. The Mean: Corned beef was not the most tender (I'm still partial to Dingfelder's), but it's well seasoned. Mint with mustard is a combination I never would have guessed would work, but the sharpness complemented each other nicely. Red cabbage had a nice tang and the soft bun for the contrast of texture. The Steak Tartare Club: Steak tartare surprisingly mild, almost feels more like a BLT with a background of slight beefy squishy texture (but in a good way!). The yuzu kosho was not too spicy and the rye bread toasted to a crisp added a good bit of crunch and almost nutty flavor. Will be back for the Hama Hama Oyster Po'Boy.

While other Serious Pie locations tend to be semi-upscale-yet-casual pizza joints, this spot felt more like an afterthought with its small, dark space and decidedly hole-in-the-wall vibe. The good news is, the pizza was still delish, as it always is at Serious Pie. We enjoyed the sweet sausage pizza that has become a fave over the years, along with a couple of beers which were served in plastic pint "glasses". Okay, I'm sure this makes me sound like a beer snob, but plastic?! Good beer just doesn't taste good in plastic. (Unless you're at a frat party?) Our server (who, by the way, was excellent) later told us he'd accidentally used the wrong glasses for the beer; so apparently it's something they're fixing. Yay! It was also darn cold inside. We had to keep our coats on the entire time. A door between the restaurant area and the semi-open entrance to what appears to be their central storage area would most likely help. Again, this all probably seems a bit petty. I'll own that. But as someone who loves Tom Douglas and his restaurants, and has had great experiences at other Serious Pie locations, this one was a disappointment. Especially since they're charging the same (some might say elevated) prices as they do at the other locations. Maybe if they called it something else, to differentiate it? Serious Pie Lite? Semi-Serious Pie? I dunno, but I expected just a little bit better from this iconic local brand.

I'm SO glad Other Coast proved me wrong. And I was blown away by what we got. For starters, I asked for a reco. The person behind the counter said the Michael King was super popular among veggies and vegans alike. I'm aways more likely to choose something I wouldn't make at home, and the dry rubbed tofu, roasted yams, and vegan cardamom-lime sauce fit right into that category. We paid, nabbed a table out front, and our names were soon called. Holy heck, those first few bites were just spectacular. What an interesting flavor combo! My only regret is that pickled onions weren't an option -- they would've added a great umami. My total came to just over $16 with tax and tip. We'll be back!

Both sandwiches were delicious and very filling. The spot itself is really small and not flashy at all. There are only a few bar seating chairs inside, and then 4 or 5 tables in their outdoor, on street seating area. We came at an odd time, around 3:30pm, so there was no line and a few open tables, but I am assuming this place gets real busy around peak lunch so would take that into consideration if you are looking to go sit and eat somewhere versus takeout. The staff was friendly and it did not take too long for our sandwiches to come out. The sandwiches were super fresh and the flavors were really good. I appreciated that the baguette was not too crispy (like cut the top of your mouth crispy) while still be well toasted. The Rajun Cajun is delicious, so it deserves all the hype it gets on the menu and on here!
