Wow, this breakfast spot is such a hidden gem with fantastic food. If you are in the Fremont area, definitely check out the Stone Way Cafe. When you arrive parking can be difficult but there's a few spots out front or parallel parking throughout the Fremont area. When you walk in the breakfast shop will feel lively, open, and welcoming. There may be a line out the door but definitely don't let that stop you as the line moves pretty quick. To order you'll place your order at the counter, be handed a number, and then proceed to a table as it's open seating. I ordered the breakfast burrito (Eggs, cheese, sausage, pico de galla, chipotle sauce, home fries wrapped in flour tortilla). The chipotle sauce and flavors mixed together make an excellent burrito. My partner ordered the breakfast tortilla stack (Corn tortillas, house-made chorizo, queso oaxaca, spinach, jalapenos, caramelized onions, enchilada sauce, egg) which also is delicious. I have heard about the breakfast burrito here for forever and finally got the chance to try it! It is indeed massive and can be split amongst 2 people, or if you're really hungry I'm sure you could finish it yourself too. You order at the counter here and they give you a buzzer to grab your food when its ready. I love how they have booth indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor is especially nice on a good day. I chose the pulled pork breakfast burrito which came with a generous amount of potatoes, eggs, meat, and sauce. The tortilla was nicely crisp and held it all together well. I ended up revisiting SWC at its current location after stopping at a nearby artisan chocolate shop, and wanted to make use of my epic score of a parking spot (3/10/26). I had not eaten yet and tiny samples of chocolate was not going to silence my growling stomach at 230pm! I walked in and there was a sizable crowd in line and also seated throughout the cafe. Judging from the laptop crowd, there must be decent available WiFi connection. The posted menus offered a nice variety of food, beverages, and snack items. The staff were really upbeat and welcoming: from the person who rang up my order, another person who crafted my 12oz mocha, and the two folks working the kitchen line. Pretty efficient team working in tandem because the line moved in reasonable time. In addition to my 12oz mocha, I also ordered the Cuban Sandwich, which also came with a side salad. I appreciated the care given to both items - nice latte art, well composed tasty salad (fresh greens, bright vinaigrette, and sunflower seeds), and quite the mammoth, generously filled with roasted pulled pork, ham, melty Swiss cheese, pickle, and mustard. The sandwich was perfected toasted via plancha or on the flat top. Half of it, the salad, and the mocha were all on point. The other half I brought home and was devoured by The Homie. I got the butternut squash savory muffin, which was nice and buttery albeit a tad dry in the middle + it was a little bit too salty for my taste. Came here for lunch with a friend at noon on Tuesday and it was bustling but we still were able to order right away and get a table. I had the Alaskan Cod tacos and they were delicious. The side salad that came with it was good too. My friend had the Mediterranean Chicken Salad which was generous and she enjoyed it. I can't digest dairy products so when I let the cashier know, she made sure there was no cheese or other dairy on the tacos. I asked if the tortillas were grilled in butter and she checked with the cooks to make sure that they were not. I appreciated this considerate level of service. This was my first time at Stone Way Cafe and I liked it. The place has a good vibe, great staff, lots of tables and seating, and an affordable menu for Seattle! Will definitely be back. read more

It's more of a casual, fast-food-style spot where you order and pay at the counter, pick up your food yourself, and choose any available seating both indoor and outdoor. We visited on a Sunday around 11:30 AM and the place was packed. I ordered the Cajun Benedict, and unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. The Cajun was barely cooked and the eggs meant to be poached were completely overcooked. They were more like hard-boiled eggs, and I even had to remove the yolk. Food - I got the chicken and waffles which came with country white gravy. The chicken was kinda like chicken fried steak - no bones and flattened out. The waffles came with maple syrup. We got our food to go so it might have gotten soggy in the car but the flavors we're great. We'll have to try dining in next time. Stone Way Cafe was one of those spots I followed on Instagram long before I finally got the chance to visit. Known for their breakfast burritos, I made my way there on a sunny Saturday morning around 9:30 a.m. It was easy to find free street parking just a few blocks away, but as expected, there was already a line of 15+ people out the door. It's clear the staff have a solid process down, because we only had to wait about 15 mins for our order. My friend and I each ordered the sausage breakfast burrito, a side of potatoes, a matcha oat milk latte, and their special coconut cold brew. The burritos were generously sized and packed with flavor. We didn't realize they already came with potatoes inside, so the extra side of potatoes ended up being a bit much which was good to know for next time. Towards the end, my burrito was pretty oily but that makes sense since it was sausage. Both drinks were solid, but nothing to write home about. I really appreciated that the restaurant offered a variety of hot sauces -- sriracha, Valentino's, and Tapatío -- which is essential for me when it comes to breakfast. Prices were fair for Seattle, especially considering the portion sizes and quality. The cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great spot year-round. When my wife brought me here, my first thought was, 'Oh great; another Seattle hipster cafe'. I'm happy to be so wrong! THE ROSES: Stone Way Cafe (SWC) actually has some off street parking. Not a lot, but by Wallingford standards, it's pretty generous. The staff is remarkably, well, normal. They're professional and courteous, not the heavily inked-and-pierced '2Kool4U' types who look like escapees from a circus sideshow that you normally find in this neighborhood. The dining space is roomy, airy and very pleasant. the perimeter is closed in with garage doors that can be opened on warm days. Very clean and inviting atmosphere. The menu is, quite frankly, remarkable. While it's not huge, it still 'covers the waterfront' by offering hearty traditional fare (biscuits and gravy), but also healthy cuisine that you actually want to eat (try the quinoa bowl; it made a believer out of me!). Prices are very reasonable. THE THORNS: No table service. You place your order at the counter and then go fetch it when called. But then again, this may be a big reason why the prices are reasonable? NEITHER ROSE NOR THORN: It's definitely a younger crowd here, but not the annoying hipster types. SWC makes a point to strike a MOR vibe; there are none of the 'Woke' trappings you normally find in indie establishments like this, that go out of their way to wear their (progressive) politics on their sleeve.
