My girlfriend and her family are currently out of the country because their grandmother passed away this past Friday. The entire family had to leave suddenly, which meant her nephew, who was graduating today, and his 21 year old sister stayed behind alone. To make things even more emotional, their mother passed away from cancer three years ago. I volunteered to take him to his graduation so he would still have someone there supporting him on such an important day. When I arrived at Archibald Flowers, they were extremely busy because of graduation season. I gave them my friend's name, but they initially could not find the order. Eventually they located it and brought out a beautiful white lei. I placed it in the car, and just as I was about to leave, one of the employees came outside and explained they had accidentally given me the wrong one and that my friend had actually ordered the Bombay lei. I opened the trunk, and the employee kindly told me I could choose whichever one I preferred. I asked if there was a price difference, and at that moment, who I believe was the owner came outside. I told her I simply wanted whichever lei had originally been ordered. She then smiled and said, "You know what, for the confusion, just take both." I was honestly taken aback. I asked if she was sure, and she said yes. I thanked her deeply. What she did not know is how much this meant to this young man and his family during such a difficult and emotional time. When I later called my girlfriend to tell her what happened, she became emotional and said, "I think that was my sister sending a gift," referring to her late sister. To the beautiful salt and pepper haired woman who helped us today, thank you for your generosity and kindness. You may never fully know how meaningful your gesture was for this family. In a world where people are often rushed and distracted, your compassion stood out in such a powerful way. We will absolutely continue purchasing flowers from Archibald Flowers. My employer sent flowers to my home, which was a very nice gesture. However, when I opened the pkg, I was a little thrown off because I've never known someone to receive a dozen roses and a box of chocolate covered strawberries as a "condolence." But, here we were. The outside of the box said, keep refrigerated, but the box was warm. The roses looked a little worse for wear, and the strawberries were a COMPLETE mess. The strawberries were mushy and the chocolate was completely melted. It was a disgusting mess. I let my boss know because it's not cheap to send flowers...and chocolate covered strawberries! I tried to call the place listed on the label. It said it was Ava's flowers, but I couldn't get anywhere. So I just left it up to my employer to deal with. About five or six weeks later, I received another pkg. This time it came from another popular flower company. This was a more appropriate gift....an orchid. Of course it was a replacement from my employer. It was beautiful and in perfect condition. I found out later that my employer initially ordered a plant. They never ordered roses & chocolate covered strawberries! That's just what Ava's sent. ‍ Also, I have seen several people online say, "Ava's is a scam! Do not order from them!" Buyer Beware!!

I ordered my girlfriend 2 dozen roses to be delivered next day 07/30. She did receive the flowers however it was only 1 dozen and I was charged for 2. The receipt on the order shows "One Dozen Roses - 24 Stems" which doesn't even make any sense. 24 stems means 24 roses, 2 dozen. Then I received an email at 3PM on 07/30, after the flowers were delivered, stating that my original order could not be fulfilled and that they were automatically going to send a new order for delivery 07/31. So aside from the fact that they only had one dozen roses delivered even though I paid for 2 dozen they also charged me a second time for the second order on 07/31 which I did not authorize. Now if they couldn't fulfill the original order for whatever reason, why would issue a second charge? This also seems like a pretty common issue with them. If you go to their customer service page one of the issues you can select is "I was charged twice for my order". So I was charged $178.66 twice for 1 dozen roses. Also forget about contacting their customer service. Trying to reach anyone at all has been the most frustrating and painful experience Ive had dealing with customer service of any kind. Once I would eventually get someone on the phone we would get disconnected and I would have to go through the painful process of trying to reach someone again. I will say that I am thankful that the actual floral designer that was fulfilling the order (Safeway lol) reached out to me directly because they were also confused by the second order they already fulfilled the day prior. They are sending out another dozen roses free of charge. Update: After spending 2 and a half hours trying to reach someone at Ava's flowers I finally got ahold of someone. They stated on their end they could not see the second charge and recommend I contact my bank. Save yourself the headache and avoid this service as much as humanly possible.

I went to Blueleaf for my wedding flowers. I had not heard of the place but a friend recommended it, so I went to check it out. When I first walked in I noticed how beautiful the displays were, it wasn't like what you see in most flower shops. There were beautiful tropical flowers and contemporary arrangements that I hadn't seen at the other places I had checked out -so I came back. I am glad I did.
