Before you consider hiring this organization, please understand their deceptive pricing model: The Real Cost Breakdown: $350 "Service Fee" - This only covers UP TO two hours of travel time (not actual service) $350 PER HOUR for the actual work performed You will pay for travel time to OTHER customers' jobs Expect to pay at least $1,000 for even basic service calls When I questioned these excessive charges, I was given the runaround with no resolution. Management refused to address my concerns about the unclear pricing that was never properly explained upfront. Additional Concerns: The service technician arrived with a firearm visibly hanging out of his pants - completely unprofessional and concerning for a home service visit Staff was dismissive when I tried to discuss the final bill Their pricing structure appears deliberately misleading BOTTOM LINE: Save yourself time, money, and frustration. This company charges premium prices for substandard service while hiding their true costs. I'd award Joe Alcorn and Valley Pump 10 stars if I could! Our community well (6 houses), experienced total outage on the evening of 22Oct25. I called and left message and got immediate response from Joe saying he would call in the morning after they started work at 8am but warned me to insure all CB's were switched off. He called as he promised and hearing my situation arranged his schedule to come out personally and evaluate the well and then send out a hoist truck with all the needed pieces for whatever they discovered. This truck arrived about 1pm with a very capable crew. They checked the electrical connection to the submersible pump and discovered that it was shorted out and needed repacement. They had done prior research and came with the original well drilling report so they knew the well depth and the original flow/minute. They quickly pulled everything out of the 6" casing and set it aside--the casing seal was shot, the checkvalve on the pump was holed by electrolysis, and the electrical connections were degraded. They then assembled new plastic pipes (schedule 120) with appropriate connectors, with new submersible pump and checkvalves, new wire, new casing seal, and all the other needed parts. The two crewmen knew what they were doing and worked together to efficiently do the needed tasks. All tools were available on the truck. After dropping pump and piping back in the well and setting the casement seal, they hooked the pump discharge pipe to a short drain pipe and ran the pump until the water ran clear. They measured the water level before inserting the pump, and after it had been pumping and insured that the flow rate was retained and the water level remained acceptable even during pumping operation. They then completed the hookup to the pressure tanks, installed a new control box, pressurized the 4 tanks, and proceeded to fill them with water. And they hauled away the debris. When they left about 4:30 everything was working and water was being resupplied to all 6 houses on the well system. Wonderful, honest, knowledgable, hard working company. In my case there were no surprises--such as a well that was running out of water, or difficult well access, or a well that had a damaged casing, or one in which pieces of the mechanism had deteriorated and fallen into the well. Such things can't be estimated accurately and all known in advance but I have confidence that Joe and his company would do their best to minimize cost to customer for the additional time and materials required to do an excellent job. Valley Pump and their employee have to make a living like everyone else--salaries, accounting, warehouse, trained employees, estimators, service trucks, inventory, WA taxes. If autodealers can charge $300/hr for car repairs and one technician, certainly a company like Valley Pump can charge $350/hr for two qualified technicians plus a specialized hoist truck with their tools and supplies. Brianna B. doesn't have a clue about the real cost of doing business today in WA. And Tom L, you were the one that needed to provide access to the well so if you don't have the proper road then you decide either to leave your well broken or you accept any damage resulting from access. I was shocked to hear getting 1 tank replaced would cost more than 3 times the price when I had 2 tanks serviced last time at a much lower price. Woke up yesterday morning to no water pressure - this is always a pucker moment for anyone living on a well! Got ahold of Dave at Valley Pump, who was able to diagnose all possible failure points over the phone, and talked me through removing the pressure control box for inspection. Despite being a busy day, Dave took time to test my control box, identified multiple issues, and set me up with a replacement box. We contacted Valley to come out to do some maintenance as well as teach us about our well. We were quoted around $450 for this service. They came out drained the tanks, checked the pressure, replaced a control box and billed us for $1636.34. After calling and discussing this, Joe (owner) stated he can reduce it by $100. Not great at all. Still very unhappy with the price difference. Hard lessoned learned! Make sure you get clear quotes of service charge, rates for each worker, how long the work will take and a detailed quote before hiring. read more

Excellent service! Our shared well went down and I called Valley Pump. They walked me through some trouble shooting and after finding a dead mouse in the relay box (which tripped the fuse box), I was able to get our system up and running at no cost! I was so impressed with the professional help that I scheduled a checkup service and they found one of our three pressure tanks had a failed bladder. Found out Valley Pump was the company that installed the filter system for my well for the previous owner. I called Valley Pump and they were friendly and patient over the phone because I knew nothing about well water as I've always depended on city water... Unsure if the previous owner did any well maintenance in almost 5 years, I scheduled a service appointment with Valley Pump because my filter told me to (and probably should've done before I moved in). They sent two technicians out who knew exactly what they were doing and were knowledgeable, friendly, and patient while I watched them do their thing hoping to learn something. At the end, the tech found out I knew nothing and walked me through how the system worked, things to look out for, and DIY maintenance. read more

I had them come out to check out my water system for service to see if anything was wrong. They did nothing didnt change filters or add salt to my softeners instead they said I needed a new system. So not true the system just needed salt and new micron filters. This place is a total scam I would never use this place again beware dont use this place. They're great salesmen and are so nice but really they just want to steal your money and do nothing. BEWARE DONT USE THIS PLACE SCAMMERS!!!! No professional at all didnt even leave an invoice for the service. Service cost isnt sure around $350 for 1 hour of work which they did nothing. Didn't discuss service call fee, performed unauthorized work that took 30 minutes (put 2 bags of our salt in our brine tank and hit the Regenerate button) and didn't fix the problem with the water softener and invoiced us $380. We learned this summer that we had an issue with our well water, and we turned to Valley Pump. Despite the fact that they were totally slammed during the height of the summer, they helped get our water tested, and when the results showed that we had no choice but to have water filtration be installed in our pump house, they really went above and beyond to fit us in so that we could again have great water. In the end, our project came in right on track with the estimate that we had received, and we couldn't be happier. After the installation was completed, we actually ran into two (very minor) issues at different times, and Alex and the folks at Valley Pump NW took care of the issues immediately. It's great to have them available and know that they stand behind their work. I had actually called them once a year previously to ask about something odd with my well, and they gave me some tips to try since it would be awhile before they could come out. It is this dedication to helping the customer that prompted us to call them this year, and we are so glad that we did. read more

I went to Valley Pump to see if they could help me find the Well ID# for the well at my house. It was supposed to be on the well head but it wasn't. I'd spent a couple hours on the King County website to no avail. I finally decided to go the Valley Pump since they installed the pump. I met Alexis and she worked her magic and was able to find the well ID # for me in a flash so I could get my Water Test processed that day. Apparently it was on a Department of Health website under the Well Name. Go figure. In any event, I truly appreciate Alexis and her determination to work through the issue with me and get me an ANSWER! So many people today do the absolute minimum to help customers but not Alexis! So, I called them to re-schedule a couple days later - incredulously I was stood-up again with no phone call to explain. I have used this company for over 20 years. They are honest and hard working. When the pump went out after so many years it was on the weekend and after hours. They came and found the problem and while it wasn't an inexpensive fix it was done right the first time. I had water in a matter of hours and it saved out plants at the nursery. They were the only people I would use. Can't recommend these guys any higher. I always knew the price going in and they have helped me now even after moving out of their service area. THIS HAS BEEN A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE My well pump stopped working on Tuesday, Feb. 7th and my husband called Valley Pump Inc to come and try and fix the pump. When Alex from Valley Pump in Auburn, WA arrived to assess the problem he said he could be out the next day and could probably get his truck down to our lower part of the property where the well is located. He expressed concern that if his truck gets stuck we would have to pay for a tow truck to get his truck out. I was uncomfortable with him saying they might get stuck, but we desperately need water. Long story short, they got their truck stuck in the mud (because the ground is wet from a previous storm) near our well. It took a day to get their truck unstuck and when they did, they damaged the door on their truck. Valley Pump tried charging my husband I $3000+ for labor and they never touched or fixed our pump!! The labor charged was all for them trying to get their truck out of the mud. My husband paid them, but I asked him to stop payment on the check because they are now threatening to take us to court because they want us to pay for the damage they caused to their truck. I have also spoken to several people (other companies in this field) and they have all told me that you cannot charge labor fees when no work at all was done. They are supposed to be the professionals and know whether or not their equipment can handle a job or even get to the location of the repair. And my husband and I did nothing to cause damage to their truck, shouldn't they have insurance? And to charge labor cost of $3000 with no repair work done at all is terrible! They should have known they would need to "board in" and "board" their vehicle back out. My husband did agree to pay for half of the towing however. BUT, in getting their vehicle towed off of our property they left a fallen tree on our road to the well, (which they caused). I have called other well pump companies and they have told me they have heard that Valley Pump Inc has had a really bad reputation in the past and we should not be charged for work not done. Other comments have been that these other well companies won't even recommend Valley Pump Inc. Life lesson, don't call a company out of desperation and trust them! Worst customer service I've ever encountered! In the spirit of wanting to work with a small, local company who seemed to have a good reputation for customer service, I reached out to Valley Pump for my well needs. I contacted them three separate times and I was promised that they would either call me back or they would stop by and there was absolutely no follow through. I only write a Yelp review when I am very disappointed and this is why I am taking time out during the busiest time of the year for a farmer to write this review. There are other well/pump companies out there, especially if you are farmer, and I recommend you hire someone other than Valley. They clearly do not support farming anymore. read more

We woke up this morning to find that we did not have water. I was so SO LUCKY to find Valley Pump. When I called the office staff was very helpful. They had someone out to my house quickly. After diagnosing the problem they explained it to me in a way that I understood. The technicians were polite, friendly and knew exactly what they were talking about. Horrible experience. Would not recommend. I never write bad reviews, but my husband and I were very disappointed with how Valley Pump conducted business. They diagnosed the problem with our well incorrectly, and charged us for a part they never replaced or even touched. We were told what the cost of labor would be over the phone, but were charged way more. My husband ended up fixing our problem after Valley Pump came out and replaced our well pump, which come to find out was still working and wasn't the problem (it was an electrical problem). They never tested the well pump before replacing it, which should have been done. It took months for the owner to get back to husband after my husband had called over 10 times. Finally the owner tested our old well pump and did admit it was still working. He did take off the charge for the part they never touched and took a little bit off of the labor charge, but we still had to pay thousands of dollars for something that would have cost hardly anything! I'm sad to say that we will never use them again. read more

Following one of the recent storms, our well quit pumping. Pump was old and was expecting to have to replace it. Called Valley Pump, they came out same day and confirmed pump was still good and just needed a new pressure switch. Could have very easily sold us something we didn't need. Reasonable service call fee. When our pump does go out, we'll be calling them. read more
