Located on one of the Downtown "T heads," it's got great views in addition to excellent food. It's higher-end American & Seafood, with a diverse enough menu to have something for almost anyone's tastes. The service is always top notch, and they have always been very accommodating as well. Need to switch a side to something "healthier"? No problem. Landry's Seafood House is part of the broader Landry's family of restaurants and hotels, and I believe they may be their flagship restaurant. My wife and I have come here for years. For the first two years, it was nothing short of amazing. Five star reviews all day long. However, tonight was absolutely insane. Our server was obviously tweaking out on drugs, and pretty much the rest of the staff walking around seemed like there were some of the same issues going on. If the restaurant is going in this direction, they should probably invest in an inventory of narcan. So sad to see how low the bar is being set at this nice establishment. read more

The restaurant offers seating on two floors, with the second floor being more comfortable and offering bar area seating. Food and drinks: Very good selection in both areas. They do craft good cocktails. You can also opt for good bottle of wine. Food selection was very good too. You can find here classic seafood dishes. Some with modern twist. All dishes we ordered were well prepared, had good flavours, seasonings and tasted good. I enjoyed gumbo flavour but my favourite was salad with tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. We made a reservation for 3:45 pm. We were seated with F. as our server. F. started off cordial, he answered our questions regarding recommendations and such. We ordered at 3:55 pm and long story short- did not receive our food until 4:45 pm. As you can imagine, this wait was frustrating. We overheard at the table next to us a server, C., offering bread to her party, about 35 minutes into this dreaded wait. We respectfully flagged her down and asked for some, saying we had been waiting forever without any bread, she explained it is usually upon request only but was more than happy to bring us baguettes. Now, this was my first time at Landry's Seafood House, though I've been to several Landry's restaurants before as a LSC member. But how would I know to request free bread? After 30 minutes of waiting, shouldn't F. have just brought us some? I would have as a waiter. But no- we had to ask another server. C. started taking care of us little by little. Kudos to her for trying to salvage our experience with the bread and even free ice cream. But there was just so much wrong. One thing was our drinks were empty visibly but we had to constantly remind F. about refills, and he was not checking in on us otherwise. Instead of him anticipating our concern and explaining the hour long wait for food, we eventually asked what was taking so long and he checked only then. He said the kitchen was backed up. There were also discrepancies in our ordering that made him charge us for free substitutions, but I luckily looked over the receipt so he could fix it. The worst part of all of this was the food was not even hot, not good, I will stick with local restaurants when visiting Corpus going forward. My thinking was oh, I can trust a Landry's spot- but I was wrong. I did see the manager much later in our experience come check on us. Stated off with some warm garlic bread which was ok. Then we ordered a starter of the crab and shrimp crab cakes which were a filled with a lot of filler!! The remoulade around the crab cakes did not have much flavor. My son got the salmon with rice and asparagus,,,Delicious with a honey type basalmic!! I ordered the lunch blackened mahi with onion strings and fried zucchini. The onion strings weren't bad...just bland. The zucchini was in a light batter and I thought they were just ok. The mahi sandwich was dry so I sent it back. If I were to go back I would order the salmon...but because of all of the flies and gnats i prob would not go back. Our server was friendly!! Not a terrible experience, but not overall that good to be honest. Decor was a little outdated and just a meh kind of lunch for two for $78 after tip and only water to drink. read more

Nice ambiance on a houseboat located on the T heads. The interior feels like an old train but of course wider. They have a great lunch special and I chose the fish tacos. They are excellent and came with onion strings and fries as well as a very fresh salad. Their house balsamic dressing was very tasty. The service was also excellent and attentive. The manager came by and got us our oysters on the half-shell quickly and I must add they were very fresh and plump. I would recommend them for the oysters as best I've had in years. We were looking for a place to eat near the Omni in Corpus Christi, so this ended up being our dinner selection. I was pleasantly surprised. The entire restaurant is set up on a barge-like structure that basically houses a decently-sized boat. It was a bit of a walk to get to the location and there's a lot of construction around, but it didn't kill the atmosphere once you got inside. Service was good. You could tell that the waiters are encouraged to upsell, or maybe it was just in our waiter's nature to offer a bunch of additional things that we didn't want or need. I don't blame him for trying. The place has an upscale vibe and you can tell that people don't come here for a budget dinner. I opted for the Mahi Mahi and my wife went with the Pontchatrain. We sampled each other's meals and agreed that while they were both good, we each ordered what would make us most happy. Saturday lunch with family for my cousins birthday unfortunately the best immediate thing for the entire table was our drinks. We each individually had overcooked food from shrimp, steak, to salmon. Alongside dishes like gumbo that simply tasted like gravy. Service was subpar the waiter refilled some drinks while leaving others empty throughout the entire encounter. I had to send my first salmon dish back as it was extremely overcooked and I'm still not sure if the croquette contained gluten which he ensured me none of the dish did. My second dish was much better only slightly undercooked. The manager came by and did apologize to us for the inconvenience. Drove in from out of town. Decided to eat at Landrys. Arrived at 7:42 pm 40 minute wait time We sat at the bar in the meantime. Took bartender 15 minutes to wait on us. We ordered 1/2 dozen oysters on the shell. After we were seated about 40 minutes later oysters were brought to our table and they were room temperature at best. Not Gulf oysters. Server took them away. Placed food order at 8:30 pm It's now 9:06 no food. Haven't seen our server in a while. About 9:46 food arrived. I had the redfish. Found a fish scale. Advised our server. We came here to avoid the Omni catering food and it wasn't bad. I think if you have mobility issues the stairs for the second floor dining might be an issue, for you, but it wasn't for us. Another thing is that there is a lot of construction around right now, so that might kill the ambiance for now. I expect it to be better once it's done, but it felt like a bit of a puzzle finding the place with the construction. Inside the customers, even the ones that wanted to appear rowdy were actually very chill. Something about the customers behavior was interesting, because they were all behaving like it was a five start fine dining restaurant, and I kinda liked it cause it made the experience more fun. I wasn't expecting that, because it's Landry's. The food was great, I didn't have much to say about that. Our waiter was okay for the most part. I think the only things that killed it for me are the stairs, because I don't know how that works for other people and just the construction around it and navigating it. I think the food was good and honestly if I was in Corpus again, I would definitely return here. And crazy enough when I use to live in Corpus I never came here. But I was also super broke back then, maybe that's why. However, it's a nice place and a great alternative if you are avoiding the Omni catering food. There was a smashed cockroach on the carpet next to the table and the restaurant appeared run-down overall. We came to Landry's our first night staying in Corpus Christi. It is literally across the street from our hotel. I had seen it on Yelp and it had good reviews. So we made the trek over. It was well worth the walk. It is so scenic and enjoyable. Walking init's like eating aboard an old ship. With wooden decor and a beautiful view of the harbor and skyline. We were seated pretty quickly and given menus. After a good look over I decided on the seafood gumbo. While waiting for my food I was brought some warm rolls and butter and I also ordered some oysters which were excellent. Now I have never had really good gulf cuisine. So when the gumbo arrived I wasn't sure what I was getting into. The sauce is a brown color and served over rice. At the first bite it almost tasted like dirty water. I'm sure that sounds gross. But I kept an open mind and allowed my taste buds to take in the complex flavors of this dish. It turned out to be one of the best meals I have ever had. So many flavors are going on. It was delicious. The service was great and I highly recommend this place. However another couple we know that is staying in the area came after we had left and mentioned they saw a cockroach crawling up a table and reported it to a server. The server said it happens when the back door is open. So idk about that. I didn't see anything like that. But I would definitely eat here again. read more

I know, I know, don't go to a chain place and expect it to knock you out of the park. But Landry's was open, and close to my hotel room. And looking back - I'd choose it again even if it weren't! I was so pleasantly surprised by the meal I had at Landry's. From the flavor to the quality and value, everything was solid. Each of me and my plus one ordered the lunch special which turned out to be a heck of a lot of food for your dollar. Starting off with the zucchini fries and gumbo, both were great. The fries clearly just came out of the fryer and never having experienced them before, I am a FAN! Perfect texture and delicious accompanying sauce. The gumbo was pretty good, shrimp a little tough but what do you expect when they get boiled into a soup. Needed a touch of hot sauce, which I was able to add myself. The fried shrimp plate was great! Tender perfectly fried shrimp and a solid french fry, would definitely get it again. As for the etouffee, we enjoyed it, but it tasted very strongly of the "mustard" you find in the body of a crawfish - for me, a huge plus, but may be a turn off to others who prefer a less fishy/milder taste. In a pretty quite lunch service, our server was so attentive and quite the jokester which only added to the experience. What do you know? This chain is staying afloat (literally) for a reason! My wife and I had dinner here on a Monday night. The restaurant was not crowded, less than half full. Wife had the sirloin and I had the broiled seafood. The sirloin was initially undercooked. We're typically not the type to send back food unless it's egregious. Our server Yvette recognized the mistake and handled it like a pro. The steak came back prepared correctly and tasted fantastic. Our food was very good. Yvette was very good. The restaurant appears to be a ship on the water. The view would be good but it was tough to really see because of the angle of the blinds and the glare from the lighting. No big deal but the view is probably better during the day. We started the meal off with the crab spinach artichoke dip. The menu said it was $12.50, but we were charged $17.50 for it. Not a bad dish, but the pricing was inconsistent. I had the almond-crusted mahi mahi, which was supposed to be the most popular item on the menu. The sauce served with it was a lemon roux-type sauce that did not pair well with the dish. Underneath was a bed of spinach that was ungodly salty, which was quite a surprise, along with some white rice that was mushy in some places and crunchy in others. On top of that was the almond-crusted mahi topped with pico de gallo, which, in my opinion, threw off the whole dish. This was $32.00. My partner had the maple bourbon salmon. The presentation was quite sad, it was just a piece of salmon on a big plate with a bourbon jelly on top, served with four asparagus that were not cooked all the way (still hard) and a soggy croquette. This was $32.00. The waitstaff was not consistent. There were five people working, but the bartender seemed to be doing most of the work, which made the service slow. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the seafood. The almond crusted Mahi Mahi was absolutely superb. No joke, it's been since living in Charleston that I've had a fish fillet that left me craving each next bite. It was fresh, flavorful, and had the perfect texture inside/out (perfectly cooked). The almonds added a pleasant crisp to the outside of the fillet that set it apart. The sauce was incredible, and the avocado/tomato combo was a pleasant compliment to the dish.
