Love this place! Great atmosphere and live music. Great for a date or girls night out. After live music is over a DJ plays with a disco ball and strobes. 3 bars. Great time! read more

Ok I just came here to get a drink and get back to work on a Sunday evening. I was surprised that this bar had a $5 cover charge, I paid it sat down. I thought there may be a waiter/waitress coming by to take my order or give me a menu and after a while I realized no one was coming and that I would have to go to the bar to get drinks. This is tricky because I came by myself and had a table if I leave my table it would be up for grabs. Lucky I met a gentleman that joined my table so that I could get a drink. I ordered a Green apple martini it was so good it even had a slice of Apple in the drink. However the Apple slice was gross maybe because it was soaked in liquor so I didn't eat it. I did notice that it was starting to get crowded (parking spots were filling up) around 10:30pm. I was only here for about 30 minutes. After my drink I left, I don't even know how the bathrooms look here! I sat close to the outside so I don't know how the inner side of this place looks, but from where I was sitting when I have more time, I have to come back for a girls night out. read more

Went to this place because I really wanted a martini. The martini was excellent but the place just was not my scene- loud music and super dark. There was nothing wrong with it, I would just pick something a little more lowkey (and not so dimly lit) next time. Our server was lovely and the drink was great but it just want not my favorite place for a weeknight drink. read more

Absolutely love this place! Exceptional service, large selection of drinks, I've never had a drink that I didn't like here. I've attended a couple of events hosted here and they have always been so much fun. There is plenty of room to dance near the stage Dan throughout the entire place including the patio which has a bar area. It's nice to have outdoor patio seating with the bar nearby instead of having to go all the way inside to get another drink. All of the cocktail waitresses are not only beautiful but they are attentive and helpful if you are not sure what to order. I know I already mentioned the patio but it is especially nice when the weather cools down to be able to have a drink on the patio and just sit and relax while listening to a live band. I'm not sure the schedule or frequency of when they have live music is really nice to enjoy the live bands and a cocktail! read more

Great pizza pepperoni flatbread! The cultural music is excellent. The drinks are tasty. I recommend going with friends or family.

I dont know how to say or where to start. First of all don't ever open a tab because they will let anybody and everybody put drinks on it without even verifying who's who and make you pay for it when you had 6 drinks during happy hour and your bill was $300. Second they will tell your 60-year-old mother to shut the f*** up because she doesn't know what she's talking about when she asked about the happy hour specials when they tried to charge us full price. Then tried to fight me and my brother outside of the place. See for yourself or take my word either way this place has the worst service I've ever experience and the bathrooms are in porta potty's around the corner. Health inspection please Ohhh and they want you to pay $16 a drink but use porta potty's out side. read more

First of all I am not one to ever right a bad review on a place. I get it things happen. But I have been coming to Blue Martini for over 12 years!!! Yes! That long! Back when the staff was respectful and kind. In the last year or maybe even 2 the entire environment has changed. If you were ever a regular here you will notice all of the people that used to frequent there on Thursday nights and the weekends no longer go there. They have moved their nights out to places they actually appreciate their business and aren't treated like trash! Especially when you have done nothing but support this place of business for many years! I have had lots of bdays there. Celebrated all 3 day weekends there and holidays! I have never caused problems there ever! I guess I will be seeing my Roscoe sing at the Womack now. And continue my weekly happy hours at Modern (with amazing staff and DJ) and Chauncey where at least the staff isn't rude! If I am going to pay that much for a drink and food I would at least like to be appreciated. Also my son who is 29 and disabled was highly disrespected by the bouncer at the front door!!! I sure hope they start to realize all the regulars that have been coming there for years have taken their business elsewhere. Let me add this isn't the first time I have been treated rudely. I have stopped coming there several times. And every time I try to give it another chance I am reminded why no one goes there anymore. read more

Don't think I'll go back again for happy hour... My friend likes outdoor dining by the bar, and I don't mind it until someone lights up a cigarette, or even worse, a cigar. Today was a hot one, but with the occasional breeze and the intermittent misters going off and on, drinking outdoors was tolerable. Only ordered mango mojitos today, and I surprised my friend by ordering two-- I usually just stick to the one. Don't know why, since both of my mojitos were very sweet (as if made with a simple syrup, instead of a muddler, mint, and sugar), and I didn't even finish my first, let alone half of my second. City iced water were in plastic glasses that had hard water stains on them. These should be polished to keep them looking sparkling-new! Friend had the Shrimp Martini, $13.50 during happy hour. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/blue-martini-lounge-phoenix-3?select=U9-fli37mQMC9-vyXV0LaA Four large shrimp with a zesty cocktail sauce that friend really enjoyed. I wondered why only four? Great visit with friend, but we'll try somewhere else in High Street for our next happy hour get-together. That, or we may be back, but I'll order something else to drink (and possibly sit indoors, away from the smoke!). read more

OK, you know that when minivans from Maryvale labeled "West Side Cab" in olde English font are circling City North at 2am, you're in for a treat. Goodness gracious, a large portion of clientele are coming from the other side of town (I thought it was just me) on a *Thursday* night just to get down on some Latin music that this is indeed the real deal. Yes, the band was amazing. Quality live music, not just your average cover band. It was incredibly loud as well, and I mean that in a good way. It felt like I was in an actual show, not a bar. It was PACKED, but seating wasn't too tough to find because everyone was dancing. My only problem is that said seating was right in front of the stage, so it was kinda hard to talk to anyone. I just kept slamming my reasonably priced Bombay Sapphire & Tonics from your very polite bartenders until I felt ready to get up. I hate clubs, but I like this place. Kudos. By 1AM, the DJ was spinning some quality tunes, and some total strangers were trying to dance on me. My date got pissed off, but it was totally worth, and if any employees are reading this, know I owe you a hi five. Overall, this is quite possibly the wildest place outside of Mill you could spend a random Thursday. I like. My only concern was that so much of the seating further away from the stage was unused, even when there was clearly a demand for it. There were no signs indicating it was VIP or anything, it was just reserved for what I presume to be the quiet, daytime restaurant hours. I'll be back to check out that cocktail menu sometime (I glimpsed the prices...you've got a LOT to live up to), but just know that at the very least I have to give my endorsement for Blue Martini's nightlife experience. read more

Thieves galore! I was there dancing on Latin night and a guy stole my phone! I was quick to see he took it and got it out if his pocket, the manager came and asked me what I wanted to do, I told him I'll let the police deal with it, no surprise the police did nothing, 5 minutes later the guy was allowed back in the establishment. Never going back there! Update: I was telling my girlfriend this story and she told me she was roofied there! read more

I've been here many times with my girlfriends for happy hour and drinks. I'm not sure if they still have them, but I got a free Ladies VIP Card that gives you 1 free drink every time you come. I would always get a Dirty Martini extra dirty! It was quite large, but after your free one they are expensive. The food on happy hour is great and pretty cheap. I've also been here late at night for a birthday party and had a lot of fun. The band was great and fun to dance to, but the drinks were very expensive. It's a great place to people watch for most people get very dressed up to mingle! I'd come back here for some happy hour specials. read more

Blue Martini consistently served an incredible happy hour no matter the location across every state. Where else can you have a Stoli Elite martini with blue cheese stuffed olives for $7??? We arrived at Blue Martini for their coveted happy hour (4pm-8pm everyday) which includes half price cocktails and half price appetizers. The venue usually implements a strict dress code, however are more lax during happy hour. Us guys wore shorts and polos, lady a nice sun dress. We sat in their outdoor seating which was perfectly cooled with misters. Live music was topping on perfect ambiance. Our server was adorable and on point. She engaged us in fun conversation and served us with consistency and was prompt. Every cocktail we tried was perfect. The right amount of liquor and we love that the shaker is delivered with the drink so you can continue to cool and refill as you sip. Food was fantastic. We tried the BBQ chicken flatbread, shrimp, and baked brie. All appetizers were beautifully presented and fresh. Overall an amazing experience at an incredible place. We highly recommend. read more

Went here on a Friday night to have a few drinks, since we are staying at a nearby resort. Great little place with killer live music that was geared towards a 30's and up crowd. There was no cover charge (this evening) and it was pretty busy when we arrived at 9. It picked up even more as the live music started and a dance floor cleared in the middle of the bar. It was a spacious enough area to now be crowded, but to be comfortable dancing. We will be back next time we stay in the area for more music, dancing, and nightlife. read more

It's been really difficult for me to find cool places to drink at and dine at in north Phoenix (if you know of somewhere cool, please, please, please leave it in the comments for me), but I had a good time at Blue Martini at CityNorth. I've been to Blue Martini once before for a karaoke night, but I had two huge meals there recently that allowed me to sample a ton of their signature martinis and dishes. Blue Martini is the anchor of CityNorth, a retail and living space that only completed the first phase of its development. Our server assured us the complex would soon be built up again, with more restaurants and shops to come besides the few (Kona Grill, Bebe, Ocean Prime, to name a few) it has now. Not surprisingly, Blue Martini's signature menu item is its martinis. The menu boasts more than 40 varieties and come in just about any flavor you might like. Probably my favorite martini I tried during the weekend was the Caramel Swirl, with Van Gogh Dutch Caramel Vodka, Irish Cream Liqueur and cream in a glass topped with caramel. It was sweet and didn't taste like alcohol, and if you love caramel, it's a no-brainer. The Espresso Martini is almost as tasty, with Grey Goose Vodka, Borghetti Espresso Liqueur and Irish Cream in a chocolate-covered glass. It definitely has that coffee taste. A restaurant favorite is the Bellini, a peachy drink filled with Grey Goose Vodka, Peach Schnapps, peach puree, Chandon sparkling wine and a splash of orange juice. It was fruity and had a tropical vibe to it. I also tried the Tootsie Roll, which tasted like an orange Tootsie Roll pop, and The Perfect Pear, which tasted more sour than pear-like-our table wouldn't recommend that one. Food-wise, we sampled a little bit of everything on the menu. By far, my favorite dish on the tiny menu is the Margherita Flatbread, which had the perfect consistency because it had lots of cheese and wasn't too crispy. This is what I'd get every time if I went back for food. We also tried the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, which came with fried pita chips. I was not a fan of the pita because it was too thick and hard, and the hummus was just mediocre to me. I felt the exact same way about the Spinach and Artichoke dip, which also came with fried pita chips and wasn't spectacular. We also tried the Baked Brie en Croute, a breid cheese puff over a strawberry cabernet sauce that came with crackers and grapes. It was a really delicious dish-I just wish there was more of it! My friends loved the Sliced Beef Tenderloin. And we all gobbled up the White Chocolate Mousse cake dessert, which was rich and creamy and came with an Oreo cookie crust and white chocolate and whipped cream. While the food and drinks were great, I'd try to go during happy hour if you could, since cocktails are all half-off from 3-7 p.m. daily, and food is discounted. Most martinis cost around $12, and food generally ranges between $10-$20, so this is definitely the best time to go. Sit on the heated patio, which has some sports televisions to check out, or head inside to the cozy, sleek sports bar lounge. read more

I came here on a Friday night around 11 and the party already started! There's a huge disco ball above a relatively standard size dance floor with some strobe lights coming from the bar, also hitting on the live band playing cover songs from the 80's to now - mostly rock and pop songs. The crowd was everything from mid 20's to late 50's. My friend and I easily got a spot by the bar which was nice. Although there was a lot of free seating inside and outside. Inside there are two bars, one underneath the platform of the live band/stage and another bar in the back where it's quieter and away from the dance floor as well. There's also a third bar outside, a huge one at that, with lots of seating at and around the bar. The food was phenomenal, shared the Beef Tenderloin and Apple Tart ala Mode. My friend had some drinks which tasted great. But both the food and drinks are extremely pricey. To get in, the cover for ladies was $5, which I found funny since it's more of a restaurant anyway than a nightclub like Maya or Mint in old town haha. There's tons of police at the front which was comforting. The bathrooms were stunning, granite and marble throughout and extremely clean! Overall, very lavish - more so than the restaurant itself, haha. The bartenders and staff were very helpful even though they were immensely busy they made sure to come back and check on you - even though it seemed like they didn't have the time to, but they did anyway, lots of points there! Overall it's a nice place, even for dancing. But it's also more chill and relaxed than a traditional dance club or nightclub because it does serve food and has more seating and areas for conversation rather than investing in a large dance floor (more of a makeshift let's move some tables out of the way). A cute transformation of restaurant gone nightclub. Honestly, I think Sandbar at Desert Ridge does a better job of this, but if you're looking for something more "high end" this is where it's at and it's not far from Desert Ridge, it's in City North which is 5 minutes away. read more

Went to the blue martini last night and although the live music was nice, I will never return to this establishment again. The wait staff is slow and the manager is extremely rude. We were quoted one price for a booth and they charged us double. Then they tried to not let us spend the remaining $90 on our tab. The manager is a jerk and is probably racist. Just skip this and go somewhere else. Save yourself a headache and a lot of money. The Las Vegas location was a lot better read more

I live next to City North and have been to Blue Martini on multiple occasions. Happy hour is the best time to go. The crowd is more of what you would expect for an upscale Scottsdale type establishment. (even though this is actually situated in North Phoenix). The food is pretty great at the happy hour prices. Ranging from your flat breads to lamb chops. They have many martinis on the menu that are very tasty. (go figure, hence the name right). Wednesday is ladies night (also Cougar night) but Fridays/Saturdays are a more heavily ladened with cougars on the prowl and men cruising the scene ranging from your youngsters looking for a sugar mama and older men in there 50's/60's trying to dress as if they are still in there late 20's, early 30's.. Good place to people watch. read more

Went on a Sunday night. Loved it. Mature crowd, live band, food and drinks were great as well.

So this is the second time I have been to Blue Martini and I just don't see the luster of this place. The food is good not great the drinks are good but way over priced. I mean I guess if you are looking for a rich old man or rich cougar then this place is for you. For a person who wants to go out with friends and enjoy my night and not pay $200 for some drinks and a small bite then this is not it. So go for Happy Hour get half off everything and leave by 7 so you don't get raped by there $11 rum and coke charges in a very small glass with lots of ice. read more

In town visiting went to Blue Martini on a Sunday night.Live music was great, drinks were good, food menu was limited.

I've been here a bunch of times. The live bad is cool but be ready to pay to see them. Ok no big deal. Happy hour is pretty good too and they have Titos on HH and a ton of food items for a decent price. The wait staff is super cool and nice. Most recently, I went here for some networking events and they seem to control madness and get everything going in order. I ordered two doubles on HH the other night. One was $10 and the other was $18. Which made NO sense to me at all. I'm not worried about $8 I promise you, but it's the principle of the whole thing. After going back to the server she checked with her manager and her manager said something random. And came back and didn't change my bill. Then I spoke directly with the manager and explained my reasoning. After not trying to feel like a douche about the $8 difference she understood and agreed with my reasoning. I'm not trying to prove anyone wrong just do the right thing and she did. The food was pretty good. The teriyaki chick was good and the cheese board and fruit platter was also good. The vibe is a bit older crowd for my liking but nonetheless people seem to have a great time here. I will be back for more events and to hang out there. Most of the bands I've seen are pretty cool and again it's a good vibe. read more

My former boss hangs out here consistently.. he's a creepy dirty old man in his early 60's in an "open marriage" who trolls for women here..ick but the Urban Spoon app picked it so I thought Id give it a shot and keep an open mind. I have so much to say.. but lets start with the decor..At first glance it looks like a Tommy Bahamas, Abercrombie & Fitch store or possible a pottery barn. Plantation shutters , dark wood tables, with nicely carved highback chairs...then there is the ceiling...whick looks like its out of an 80s art show. Black glossy block design with blue and red neon lighting..and a disco ball in he center. Its tacky and ruins any class this place might exude..but that's not all. The waitresses wearing ligh blue satin corsets with black bras...trashy, & far from classy.. it exudes a wanna be upscale gentleman's club and it completely misses the mark. As for the clientele.. Im 38 and I was the youngest patron in there..It was a Sunday and appeared to be AARP night. But as we were leaving it was packing up with overly tanned, overly coiffed Jersey Shore type bikers. It seems there was an auction happening and ther was a "Scott Weiland" look alike going table to table trying to hustle cash out of the patrons for raffle tickets. It was weird and uncomfortable. First.. who carries cash anymore.. Second.. it would have been smart for the waitresses to propose the purchases to their respective tables and have the option to charge their debit card to purchase the ticket..much like you would a gratuity. I have to say the martini selection is extensive and fantastical!! Their food was quite delicious, the service was friendly and for that i would return and the only reason I give it 3 stars..but its the only reason....it seeps an incredibly creepy vibe. read more

This place is actually really fantastic. Nice atmosphere with some dang good cocktails, and live music that's not too loud. Unfortunately our first encounter with a server left such a sour taste in my mouth, even though the rest of the servers were polite and accommodating. After being seated for 20 minutes and not having a single server approach us, I went to the bar and grabbed the attention of one of the staff members. She was a shorter staff member with shoulder length blonde, frizzy hair. She already look agitated but she was the first person I could get ahold of. I asked her if we had to order at the bar, and she said a waitress would come to the table. I said we had been waiting for 20 minutes and hadn't seen a waitress, and she responded in a snappy tone, "well there's only one server going around and she'll get with you when she can, so you can wait," and walked off quickly. The waitress showed up two minutes later and was apologetic, but at that point I was turned off by the experience I didn't want to drink. I'd come back because like I said, the drinks were delicious but I wasn't in the mood after that. read more

Okay, this place is a joke, first thing when you walk in you see a sign "No Baseball caps allowed". I get it if you are at a 5-star restaurant but you sell Flatbread & Tacos and Tuna that I would not feed to my cat or dog. We are in Arizona where people use hats to cover themselves from the sun on your open-air patio! Also, did you bother to ask the person why they may need to wear the hat maybe they have skin cancer and are protecting themselves from the sun or maybe they just had chemo treatments and their hair is falling out and they wanted to cover their head? But the good news is we left and did not stay and found tons of better options for food and atmosphere. Never would walk into your establishment again!!!! Train your staff to ask questions rather than tell people to leave, because our $300 got spent walking over to Nori Sushi which was fabulous! read more

Terrible experience the first time I tried going. I'm almost 29 years old, dealing with a disability, and was trying to meet my mom and her friends who were already inside. The short security guard at front was super rude, almost like it was part of his job description, or something. I miss placed my ID, but luckily have a picture of the front and back on my phone. He said OK let me look and after taking a split second glance at it he says "nope, won't work" then he goes "bye bye". Basically treating me like a homeless person something He obviously has something against me for some reason. But I was nothing but nice to him and his colleague. I've never been to that place before in my life. So I don't know what the grudge is about. My mom is a regular at this place. She was even going to have her birthday here with a lot of people, but not anymore. I definitely wouldn't recommend going here if you're looking to be respected. Sorry guys we had nothing but nice things to say about you guys before but that bridge has been burnt. We will just continue to go to modern Margarita across the street. read more

For a Specialty Martini and a light meal (menu is really heavy appetizers, not meals) this is a good place to go. Happy hour runs later than most places (7- or 7:30PM) and if you are Female, you join their 'club' and your first drink is FREE!! They usually have a decent dance band on weekends, but it does get crowded and the dance floor is small. And it is a pretty young crowd, but we usually make it through the first set of the band!!
