This is a really fun and iconic bar! Has a Southwestern feel to it. It's quite small, so you most likely will end up standing or on the stools near the walls. However, the walls have a counter with the stools, so you can order food and eat there! It's super crowded all the time (this was our third attempt getting my inside across 2 days), but so worth it! Our drinks were made quickly, but ordering them was a little trickier. They didn't have many people working (2? 3?) so it was easier to order at the bar then flag down a server. With it being a small space, it was would've been nice to order from a server. We had the prickly pear margaritas and the house margarita. While they tasted good, I'm not sure how authentic they were. But they were served icy cold, so can't complain too much! They were also a decent price. We also had their red pork and green pork tamales. The red was my favorite, with a hint of spice and flavorful pork. The green one was good too. We also had their nachos, which were pretty classic and appreciated by the group! Food came out in about 20-30 minutes. Prices were reasonable too. The best was the live music-- It's free! Lots of country classics. I would arriving around 1/1:15 pm, finding a seat, getting a drink and ordering food, and listening to the well-played tunes. It only has 1 small TV, so I'd go somewhere else if you're looking for a bar/pub to watch sports. Make sure to check out popular, well-known Rusty Spur Saloon for cold margaritas, delicious Mexican food, and dance worthy live music!

    15th anniversary country style.

Had a blast there celebrating our 15th Anniversary. Highly highly recommend. The two bartenders that night were great. Both even sang a song. Place was absolutely packed. We got lucky and found bar seats and bellied there for a few hours. Next time we are in Az will definitely be coming back here.

Our first stop when we landed in Scottsdale, Arizona was the Rusty Spur Saloon ‼ The Oldest Bar and last Cowboy Saloon With Live Country Music 7 Days + 7 Nights a Week! It's actually a historic building dating back to 1921 when it was a bank! Great cowboy vibes! You place your drinks and food orders at the bar. There are 2 unique bar stools! We stopped by several times throughout our visit- enjoyed the cold drinks and country music! Absolutely love this: Leave a dollar on our wall! Make your mark and leave a signed dollar bill to commemorate your visit to the Rusty Spur. At the end of the year, we clear the walls and donate it all to Phoenix Children's Hospital. We left a dollar $$ Highly recommend! Happy National Arizona Day‼ June 21, 2025

A fun country music dive bar with reasonable drinks, good service and good live music. We have the pork green chile which was quite decent. Definitely a must stop by when visiting Old Town Scottsdale. During the day you have a few tables and chairs .. At night this place gets quite busy and it's standing room only.

I'm not sure you can stop in Scottsdale and not visit the Rusty Spur. My friend and I had a mini crawl on a Thursday afternoon. We popped into the Rusty Spur around noon and were able to get a table. I opted for a margarita and he had a beer. There are no draft beer options available here. Bartenders were all extremely friendly and engaging. Rusty Spur is not very large, will get packed, but is an obligatory stop in Old Town. I'm glad I stopped in.

Scottsdale's first bar You've probably walked past the swinging doors and peaked in as you strolled through old town Scottsdale. Next time, actually stop in for a drink and stay a while listening to good country music. The Rusty Spur opened in 1951 as Scottsdale's first bar and is registered as an official historical landmark. The building was constructed in 1921 as a bank, and the original vault is still inside and has since been converted into a refrigerator. You'll find live music 7 days a week. Lunch includes burgers, chili, tamales, and more. And of course, you can wet yer whistle in some unique photo worthy seats at the bar.

    Live bands!

This was such a VIBE! We had dinner across the street at Beginners Luck and stopped by this cute country bar. They have live music at 8. The bartenders are so kind and the people are all nice! The band was AMAZING! Great vibe and cannot wait to go back!

The song playing when i walked in tells it all "time for a good time"! This place was jumping at 1:30 on a Thursday! So much fun! Drinks at a good price for Scottsdale and the stuff all looked like they were having a blast i love a place that can turn the energy on for the customer, admittedly i walked in a little hung over and i knew i was in for a good time two steps in. Onion rings are amazing do yourself a favor and go ahead and do that :) Secret menu- order the tamale... order a cowboy chili now let them make baby's it's a beautiful thing!

Amazing local tavern in old town Scottsdale - a must visit! Live music, friendly people, staff and musicians. Shout out to Josh for making our first visit memorable and interactive! We loved this spot, it's like walking back in time and stepping into an old saloon from the Wild West. A must see!

Stopped in for a beer or two, or three or was it 4? and a shot of Basil Hayden ( a good 2 oz pour) with a guy playing solo music which was fantastic! Great spot with many people having a great tune dancing, conversing and bartender was friendly as welcoming!

    Super hot date :-)

What happened to the large stuffed buffalo head? I don't see it in the photos.

It was still there last time I noticed. I reviewed my photos and I can confirm it was there on 4/29/18 anyway.

New to this . I'm coming over from UK in June to Phoenix and interested in the Rusty Spur . Is there an age limit in the eve as have 18yr old daughter with me ? Cheers

They allowed under 21 at the tables but not at the bar today.

The restaurant and bar were not busy, so I expected prompt service, but unfortunately the service was surprisingly slow. I ordered the Fish & Chips, and I will give credit where it's due, even though it wasn't a large serving, the food itself was good. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the visit. The noise level inside the restaurant was overwhelming. The music was excessively loud, and to be honest not all that good of selection, making conversation difficult, and the staff were laughing and talking loudly just to be heard over it. It created a chaotic atmosphere that wasn't enjoyable, especially for an early evening meal in an almost empty restaurant/bar. What concerned me most was the overall cleanliness. There was food on the floor, crumbs and debris on the tables, and dirt and food particles and trash along the ledge surrounding our booth. It didn't look like these areas had been properly cleaned for quite some time. The television above our booth was covered with fingerprints, smudges, and food splatter, and the windows and patio doors were equally dirty. When the front-of-house is in that condition, it naturally makes you wonder what the kitchen and back-of-house look like. To add to the disappointment, my bill included a 4% "Event Venue Fee." There was no live music, private event, or special function taking place, just a quiet early evening meal. Charging an event fee under those circumstances felt unjustified and left a poor final impression. While Whiskey Row may be a fun destination for live entertainment or a special event, I would not recommend it as a place to enjoy a meal. Between the slow service, excessive noise, lack of cleanliness, unexplained additional fee, and super high prices, the experience simply did not live up to the reputation or the celebrity name attached to it. Very disappointing. I won't be returning.

(May mama Coco rest in peace) The cocktails were solid overall, and I was happy to see a couple of mezcal options on the menu. That said, the drinks are definitely on the pricier side.
