The diviest of dive bars there ever was. Some days they stay open til the last drink is ordered. Other days they have a decent blues set happening. Don't expect anything and just go with it. There's a pool table, most seating is around the bar and the bartender is just trying to do their best with what they've got. We attended a performance by a friend and his band at this venue. It's a pleasant and peaceful location, and we were joined by many friends who came to support our friend and his band. There were multiple bands scheduled to perform, but our friend and his band truly stole the show with their fantastic performance! The service was excellent, the venue was well-maintained, and despite the music, the sound quality was impressive enough to allow for conversations. THIS PLACE IS TRASH. I have visited dive bars all throughout the valley and this is BY FAR the nastiest, sleeziest, up front joke of a dive bar I have ever been too. First off , upon arrival the bartender who was heavily tattooed and nipples coming out of her shirt , was talking to three men at the bar and after sitting for more than two minutes she still had not left them to greet me . I literally had to wave her down . That should have never been a problem in A slow slow slow bar with me being the 5th person in there . Most importantly let's get to the reason I am so disgusted with this place , after multiple bathroom breaks the bartender was taking , I started to notice a burnt, popcorn smell, like she had been going to smoke pills. And after returning she was even more of an air head than before . I know dive bars lack rules and stipulations but doing drugs in the bathroom on a MORNING shift should not be allowed anywhere . LaDonna rudely kicked my service dog out of the building. I am a weekly patron and dogs are a common staple in this bar because of it I enjoy the company. The Blooze Bar now has a sign out front discriminating against all dogs except 2 explicitly named people... my dog is a service dog. I was aggressively asked for my paperwork which is illegal and in tact at the house. If I had been treated with any kind of kindness I wouldn't have made a big deal but LaDonna has been nothing but trouble since she started. when I told her we wouldn't be back because of her attitude she said oh well. well.. oh well to the $$$$ I spend regularly Blooze Bar. read more

This place is fairly far outside of my normal evening outing circle, however, one of my favorite bands happen to be playing there one evening. And therefore a journeyed out of my circle to see them. The boy had a lot of space, tables to sit and watch the live bands on stage perform. There was also a lot of seating around the bar and the bartender was very friendly and the service was excellent. It was a little challenging due to construction out front but that's not their fault. If I live closer I would frequent more often because it was an enjoyable experience. read more

I go to play at the Wednesday weekly jam sessions. After tolerating the so called "teasing" (actually offensive, sexist and demeaning comments) from the jam host, I finally voiced my complaint to owner, Jen. Big mistake. Apparently Jen feels that this is the way men behave in a bar and I should stop being a "cry baby" and I probably did something to provoke this behavior and finally she demanded "Why do I continue to go to the jams?" Good question. Somehow I was under the impression a bar owner (especially female) would be concerned about someone she allowed on her premises who was creating a hostile environment. I've noticed that a number of female musicians have stopped attending this jam. Even the guys have commented on how uncomfortable they feel but the jam host ignores or defends his actions. Its hard to believe that this behavior is allowed to continue. She expressed no interest in "Me too" movement. read more

This bar has just gone from bad to worse. For the last few months, absolutely no draft beer available. Many evenings they are closed by 6 including weekends. Dirty and smells bad. Unfortunately, this is the closest bar near my laundromat. Mom assuming the owners plan to sell off as much booze that remains and sell their property. Having no expectations whatsoever, I spent last Saturday night at The Blooze, and had a great time... I went to see Ultimate Bon Jovi and was super impressed with the band. I can't get Bon Jovi songs out of my head ever since! It's definitely a dive bar, but along with cheap drinks, a very casual environment, friendly bartenders, pool, and a very entertaining crowd, you'll find that the Blooze Bar calendar is filled with all kinds of Rock 'n' Roll band performances. It's worth mentioning that the accoustics weren't the greatest, but with a $5 cover, I can't complain too much about that! Upon quick glance at their calendar (link on their website), I see that there is Happy Hour from 3-6 Mondays-Fridays and an occasional karaoke night + some fun bands coming soon including a Rod Stewart Tribute Band. It appears they've also had a ZZ-Top Tribute Band, Tribute to Rush, Motley Crue, AC/DC, and more. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to hang at Blooze unless I was going for another show, but if and when Ultimate Bon Jovi returns, "I'll Be There For You!" read more

I went here for midget wrestling and the first drinks I got I had to tell the girl behind the bar 3 times what I wanted before she got it. I think she was high or on drugs. Then my girl went up to get drinks...she ordered a tequila sprite and it smelled and tasted weird so she went back up and ask for another one. It smelled and tasted weird as well. The bartender told her she's not making a new drink and she is going to charge for both drinks. My girl said fine charge me but I want Cuervo and sprite. That's when my girl noticed that the bar tender put away the bottle that she made the first two drinks from and it had a bee on the front. We looked up liquor with a bee on the front and she found a whiskey bottle that was exactly like to one the bar tender had. Nuff said! read more

This place is not bad. The bartenders are friendly and it attracts a nice crowd of slightly older patrons. And I love that they have live music and a small dance floor. I would give them four stars but they are extremely inconsistent. You never know if they will have music and what kind they will have. They don't keep their website or Facebook up to date. And if you call the bartenders don't usually know either. Please stop wasting money on bands that you don't even list on your website calendar or Facebook. read more

I might have gone on a bad night, as it was Heavy metal night. The Blooze was very scary to me. It was a total biker bar to me. Everyone in black, smoking, tatooes and piercings everywhere. I was literally scared to go in. The rest of my group finally showed up and went in. It's a small bar with no table serve for drinks. I don't believe they had any food. I recommend not booking through the Blooze Bar in AZ. We had locked in this show back in August through the venues Facebook page (website doesn't work and we had sent two emails with no response) I don't normally reach out to a venue after locking in a date with them unless I need something from them or need information and I had already worked out everything in the conversation we had on messenger so I felt I had no reason to reach out to them. I messaged them the morning of our show (Oct. 3rd) letting them know what time we'd be loading in and to make sure everything was good to go. A man representing them calls me yelling at me that a women named "Larry" who booked us through THEIR business page on Facebook was a "band groupie" that somehow got into their account and booked shows for them without his knowledge? He then proceeds to yell at me like it was my fault that they're unorganized and not communicating; I'd had an event page up for months, I'd tagged their pages in multiple posts leading up to the show, HOW are YOU the person booking shows at this venue and didn't see that we had a show happening until 8 hours before the show starts?? He also tried to spring on a $500 rental fee last minute for the night after this "Larry" person confirmed over a month ago that there was no rental fee.. Very proud of myself for the way I handled it because the blatant disrespect towards me was extreme and unnecessary when none of the problems stemmed from me or my team. Like I said, DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEM. This was a very sloppy interaction on their part. I'm a professional and I don't appreciate when a venue/promoter disrespects me. We had drove over 1,400 miles out to AZ to do a handful of shows and the audacity to speak to me like I'm the problem? BLOOZE, you need to get your business straight, it isn't the artist's fault that you guys can't communicate and if you're the owner, I'd look into hiring someone else or tightening up your workers because that interaction was unnacceptable. He told me after yelling at me for 15 minutes straight that all he was trying to do was figure out how we could make this work, I told him that based on this interaction that there is no making it work, and that was that.... Hope this helps anyone looking for venues in Phoenix. Look somewhere else. It's not worth a last minute cancellation. read more

This review is being left from a musicians view and also 4 months after the fact. So I've had time to think it over.. Mainly for any bands looking to play at the Blooze bar. It took months - many many texts and phone calls back and forth to schedule a show. It was very frustrating. I'd give our open dates on request. Wait.. nothing.. then a month or two later I'd get a text asking for our available dates. Happened 3-4 times. Literally 40 messages and 5-6 phone calls to book one show. Took 4 months We agree on a price .. it's documented in many texts. We do the show and the Check is written out for $100 less than agreed. I show proof of payment issue and lady at the bar can't write me another check.. asks me to take it up with management. Fine .. no worries. Back to the texts again. Back and forth. She doesn't do PayPal or any other simple payment method. Says she will mail the $100. Ok cool. I wait 3 weeks. Nothing. I text again. She says oh, it must have gotten lost in the mail -- she said she sent it in cash and wasn't even worried it got lost ?? So then asks me too sign up for some payment app.. I do. Tell her I'm on, and wait for weeks. Now I'm ghosted. No responses. It isn't all about the $100..some of this review is the frustration / chaos / poor organization ... waste of time.. I don't think she ever sent the money nor did she ever have the intention of paying. Bands - if you play there. Ask for the check before you start. It's a big stage (lights are a little epileptic) Or find places that pay what they say they will pay. Patrons - please support Blooze. Buy more drinks. Go there more often. After an awesome evening at "The Blooze" two things have become self evident. One: I need to get my tattoo. Two: The Blooze has officially dethroned "The Bikini" as my favorite dive bar. We went to "The Blooze" last night to check out a couple of surf-rock bands, The Surfside IV and Secrete Samurai, from San Diego. Now normally, The Blooze is a NASCAR haven. NASCAR memorabilia adorns every surface but the floor in the place. I was a little apprehensive of checking out this place, but there was no need to worry. This place is great. Plenty of seating throughout the bar, a dance floor, and they even had Guinness on tap which is always good. While the bands were playing classic movies featuring Tony Randall and Jane Mansfield were playing on the many TV screens throughout the bar. There are two pool tables that were occupied most of the evening. Outside they had VIP parking for hotrods so it was like a mini car show and great music. The best part about the night was the Surfside go-go dancers and their little "Devilette" horns. Very cute! All in all, I give "The Blooze" four out of 5 stars and look forward to the next Surf Rock band night. read more

The Blooze is a dive bar by categorization only. It is much too clean, organized, and well lit to actually meet dive bar standards. A classy dive bar, if you will. I went to see The Limit CLub play for Thursday Rockabilly Night, and the stage set up is fantastic! It has the whole lights/sound set up down perfectly. There are two 27 inch monitors mounted on either end of the stage so that people sitting in the back of the bar can see what's going on, and the checkerboard dance-floor is a nice touch! Drinks are cheap if you like domestic beer or well drinks. And the bathrooms are super clean if your bladder isn't up to binge drinking! The ladies room even has pictures of 1980s hotties plastered all over the inside of the stalls. Overall, this is a great little bar to see a local band and have a cheap drink. Just beware of the scary bikers that seem to perpetually hang out in front of places like this! read more

A couple friends and I wanted to play some pool near my house. This is where we ended up. I purchased a pitcher and approximately five bottles of beer over the course of two hours. My tab was $12.50.
