You should avoid this place as I am tired of having to wait in line. All kidding aside, there is nothing at this place that is not delicious. From breakfast sandwiches to lunch to their awesome selection of baked goods, this humble place has some of the best food around. This probably explains why there is a line out the door every time I go there. Though the line is always long, it does move very quickly and the staff is very friendly and efficient. Phenomenal. Tucked away in a strip mall just off I-70. Playing The Decemberists and serving free samples of some of the best carrot cake I've had since my non-competitive, middle school baseball team Bake Sale. Solid breakfast items (egg and cheese on homemade breads), decadent treats (ginger creams - a whoopie pie but with ginger snaps instead of chocolate cakes), and decent lunch sandwiches (they had a little trouble understanding the grilled part of the tuna melt but good nonetheless). Some good deals as well: 2-for-1 on chocolate chip banana bread and bagel chips when I was there. A nice stop prior to a bike ride up the hill. read more

Stopped by for breakfast last Saturday. Ordered a breakfast burrito and my friend ordered Huevos Rancheros. Absolutely awful!! Burrito tortilla was dry and hard, a beginner chef could have made better scrambled eggs (very unappetizing), no salsa to speak of. Only item recognizable on the Huevos Rancheros was the tortilla! Egg was buried under some unknown "sauce" and the entire plate looked like it had been put together from the trash bin! Ordered brownie and lemon bar to take home. Couldn't cut the brownie with a master chef knife and lemon bar was completely without taste. Do NOT understand how this bakery can receive 5 stars. Obviously the people who wrote 5-star reviews have never tasted true pastries, nor the true huevos rancheros, or friends and acquaintances of the owner(s) wrote these 5-star reviews. I have lived in 27 different countries (including France and Mexico) and this "bakery" was, by far, the absolutely worst! Should have gone down the block a bit to Mickey D's for breakfast sausage, and good coffee, and much cheaper! read more

I read the reviews and wanted to a treat for my family. My daughter has an egg allergy, so I asked if the scones had eggs and was told they do. I asked if the croissants had eggs and was told they are brushed with eggs. I asked if they had anything without eggs, maybe the bagels? I was told they could not check an ingredient list because they came in a big box from a wholesaler in Breckenridge and there was no ingredient list. I asked for name of the wholesaler so I could check online. The wholesaler did not have an allergy or ingredient listing online and their phone number went to an answering machine. My husband and I stopped here on our way back to Denver last weekend. He has been dying to take me here- he has been here dozens of times traveling back and forth to the mountains. We walked in and there was quite a line, but it moved fast! We ordered two breakfast sandwiches and a cupcake to go. They were more then happy to accommodate my 'egg whites only' request and were patient with me when I changed my mind about a drink a few times. The staff is friendly and the pastries are great. I used Reil Mountain Confections (part of Blue Moon Bakery) for my October 2013 wedding. They provided us with free samples and several quotes before we found the perfect order for us. I had a small two tier cake and three varieties of cupcakes. The wedding cake was even more gorgeous than I pictured in my head! And the cupcakes tasted fabulous. Several times I've been in there I haven't had good service. The lady at the register was rude and carried on personal conversations while customers were in line waiting to pay. The wait times for food are also pretty slow. When ordering a bagel sandwich you wouldn't think it would take so long. However, the food is fantastic! The baked goods are amazing, there's so many options it's so hard to choose what to pick! The breakfast foods are great, and I've had a lunch sandwich that was also good. Today was the last time I eat here. The bagel sandwiches are tasty when prepared correctly, but you never know if they will be. More than half of the time, they forget an ingredient or put too much or too little of something. Zero standards or quality control. I like my bagel toasted, but at least half of the time the girls behind the counter will forget to put the bagel in the toaster and when the cook asks for the bagel they hand it to him untoasted and that's what I get. Today I ordered the turkey avocado sandwich and they forgot the Chipotle aioli so it was exceedingly bland. Don't ever buy the pastries at this place. They have zero flavor. I am not the only pers who says this. The only way to achieve such low levels of flavor is one of three ways: 1. They sit in the cooler for a week. 2. They use expired ingredients. 3. They use the cheapest imitation ingredients. The bakery at City Market has better tasting pastries which isn't saying much, because these have NO FLAVOR. I suspect the owner doesn't read these reviews but if he does. ... retrain your kitchen staff to be consistent and conscientious in their work. Then stop by the bakery at Whole Foods to get an idea of what really good pastries taste like. Ask their pastry chefs for some tips. I won't be eating here again and will tell others to avoid this place as well. read more

I FOUND THE TIP OF A RUBBER GLOVE in my bagel sandwich!!! Blue moon used to be my favorite place in silverthorne. Although the counter people were rude half the time I continued to go back again and again. I turned all my friends that we're visiting the mountains or that moved here onto this place. However, after today when I FOUND THE TIP OF A RUBBER GLOVE in my bagel sandwich I will NEVER be back and will make sure all my friends know about this disgusting incident. When I called to let them know this happened to me I was given to the "supposed manager" she was sarcastic and said that sometimes this just happens. Are you serious?!?!? So this may happen again and this is not a big deal? To me finding the tip of a USED GLOVE IN my sandwich should NEVER happen and what about the choking hazards involved here? I couldn't believe she made light of the situation. They did offer me store credit next time I came back.... Ha! I will NEVER go back to a place that straight up says this type of thing happens sometimes. So disgusting and horrifying ! I can't wait for Einstein's to open!
