Since I had a gift certificate I needed to use that night before leaving the area, I didn't have much choice, so I said sure. Then the Panang curry with shrimp came out, and the shrimp still had the tails on. I had to take each one out of the curry and de-tail them with my fingers. The plate was too small to hold the tails, and they didn't give me an extra dish, so the tails ended up on the table--kind of gross with all the curry sauce dripping off them. The mango sticky rice dessert came with mango still on the rind, so again I had to use my fingers and the spoon to separate it, and the rind also ended up on the table. My napkin got soaked from wiping my fingers with mango juice and curry sauce, and I had to grab an extra one from the table next to me. All of these things were a bit frustrating, but the food was absolutely amazing. I loved it and would come again if I lived in the area--just earlier, and I'd ask them to de-tail the shrimp for me.

The beautiful interior and inviting patio make it feel like you're dining somewhere much more upscale. Great food, excellent service, and a comfortable atmosphere--I would absolutely come back the next time I'm in Silverthorne.

The fruit was surprisingly good, strawberries, blueberries, and bananas with a light sprinkle of powdered sugar. A side of fruit can be pretty hit or miss when you substitute it at brunch, so I was pleasantly surprised. The eggs were cooked right, and the toast was fine. I opted for turkey bacon, though, and I'd recommend skipping it. It was pretty crispy and lacked much flavor. The standout was the cinnamon roll French toast. We ordered it to share with the table, and I highly recommend doing the same. It comes with two large cinnamon rolls that are soaked in egg batter and grilled French-toast style. It was top tier. I noticed several tables around us sharing the regular cinnamon roll as well, and those looked fantastic too. They also have a bakery counter inside with plenty of grab-and-go options. The pastries all looked great, along with fresh bread, cookies, and other sweet treats. If you're visiting Frisco and looking for brunch, Butterhorn is definitely worth a stop. And whatever you order, I'd make sure the cinnamon roll French toast makes it onto your table.
