    Classic Roll

You want really, really, really, really good lobster rolls???? Here it is! Prior to visiting Cape May, I did a little research on the food scene and Quincy's immediately came up. At first, we were targeting their Washington Street Mall location, but we realized it wasn't their original spot as the original location was on Beach Ave, just a few blocks away. With Washington Street Mall being so busy and packed, we figured we'd give the original location a try instead since it was away from the buzz of the Mall area. This location was right across from the Cape May convention center, but the strip that the shop was part of was pretty dingy. The tables and chairs outside were all very dirty so make sure to give them a good wipe down first. When we arrived for an early dinner at 5PM on the Friday before Labor Day, we were surprised to see quite a few families sitting at the outdoor tables. How could that be???? It was ONLY 5PM! Luckily, they all finished quickly and we were able to snag a table outside. But there were other tables belonging to other establishments there that were free though. This location of Quincy's was as no frills as it got. It was slightly bigger than a hole in the wall with no indoor seating what so ever. All of the tables and seats were outside and there were only a few. After taking a gander at the menu, we ordered 1 Classic Roll, 1 Connecticut Roll, 1 Lobster Mac and Cheese and 1 Lobster Bisque. Let me just say, I haven't had a lobster roll in a longgggg time, but it was well worth the wait and more. All of the lobster in the rolls were so fresh and delicious. I easily could have eaten 3 of them by myself, but, unfortunately I only had 1. The Lobster Bisque and Lobster Mac & Cheese were very good too, but the Lobster rolls definitely had me wanting much, much more. One thing to note when dining outside is BEWARE OF THE SEAGULLS. Yes, they love lobster too (who or what doesn't????) and they will occasionally fly and land in the vicinity looking for food, so just keep a close eye on your food. As for parking, unfortunately, it's all street parking as Quincy's doesn't have a lot like so many of the Beach Ave establishments. However, if you decide to walk away from the Mall area, Quincy's is an excellent option.

Delicious lobster roll with a great ratio of bread to meat. For context, my boyfriend had never had a lobster roll he liked until this one and I'm so happy he did! I was happy as a clam with it. We also got the lobster bisque - of the 3 lobster bisques we had in the area, we ranked it 2/3 (all were good). It was very tasty with a high sherry flavor. Overall the lobster roll is a must, but a better lobster bisque is at the Lobster House. Friendly, prompt service and the seating is all outdoor.

Haven't eaten here in a while and I recently enjoyed lunch, yes with my dog. We ordered and ate outside at the tables. Lobster was so juicy and sweet. Yes I shared some with my fur baby too.

Really good lobster roll place in Cape May! It seems like it's been around for a long time. The lobster tasted fresh and they give you a lot of it on the lobster roll. It definitely hits the spot if you're in the mood for a lobster roll!

this was our first time trying a lobster roll and it did not disappoint! we ordered the classic roll which is served cold. it was small in size but very delicious. the fries came out piping hot, so they were definitely fresh! the pickles and lemon were a nice touch to add some acidity and freshness. service was good, nothing to complain about. there wasn't a line when we got there but it took about 20 minutes for our food to come out. the roll was about $20 and the fries were $6. there is no indoor seating and it is located in a little plaza with other food shops. whether or not you get a table just depends on how busy it is that day. we managed to get one right out front and we were not bothered by any seagulls!

Great lobster rolls at a decent price! No frills ambiance right in the beach. Tried both hot and cold with a slight preference for cold. Give them a try.

I completely understand why the line for Quincy's is out of the door when you're passing by. The los get rolls are stacked, flavorful, and delicious. The price also can't be beat. If you're in the area, definitely stop by to try one of their many roll options that comes with the perfect plain bag of lays chips. I promise you won't be disappointed !

Went here for lunch with my family and was excited to try the place out. As soon as we walked in, we said hello how are you with a smile and were returned with a straight face of the cashier who just looked at us and ignored us. We asked questions about what is good to eat and we were ignored while being dully stared 99% of the time. Started off with poor service to say the least. It was a simple space, just for ordering on the go. The food was very disappointing and was nothing special. I ordered the shrimp roll and there was plastic left on top of my roll. Out of 5 people, not a single one of us really enjoyed our food or would return back for more. The food looked nice and the colors presented it well but it also was not worth the price. $18 for a lobster roll thats not good and a $11 shrimp roll that wasn't anything special. The food was not filling, small portions. While it's location is convenient and near the beach, I would take the extra 5 minutes to reach a different spot with better food nearby.

My family and I loved this place! Such delicious and abundant lobster rolls. Served with chips and pickles. Delish! Also got the crab salad which was delicious and fresh as well.

Ohh, ohh, ohh how I wanted to love this place. It got great reviews.... but the lobster rolls were TINY ... I even ordered the 50% More for $6 more.... so I expected a couple of good bites. Maybe it was the fact that it cost so much that I was not satisfied. It's in the main busy area on Washington Mall. The outdoor seating wasn't bad. The order taker was very nice.

Chains can always be hit or miss, but this one is a hit. We ordered the crab roll, and the price could not be beat. The crab meat tasted very fresh, and there was a generous amount of it. As far as service and ambiance, the employee who served us was very friendly, and the location is perfectly situated near all of the shops, which makes for an easy grab and go between stores.

I also ordered a bottle of their house wine, and it was excellent. It was served nicely chilled with just the right amount of sweetness, making it the perfect pairing for my meal. The flavors complemented the gnocchi beautifully and made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. The sauce was fresh, light, and earthy, and I loved the addition of the pine nuts, which added a subtle crunch. I'm usually not a fan of mixing different textures in a dish, but everything came together so well that it completely changed my mind. The shrimp were cooked perfectly--tender, juicy, and full of flavor. My daughter ordered the seafood pasta, and she loved it as well. The seafood was fresh, the pasta was cooked perfectly, and the flavors blended together wonderfully. We both left our plates nearly empty because everything was just that good. We were seated outside, and the atmosphere couldn't have been better. The weather was beautiful, there was a nice breeze, and it made for such a relaxing dining experience. To top it all off, the woman who took our order was absolutely wonderful. She was funny, energetic, and incredibly kind, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Between the amazing food, delicious wine, beautiful outdoor seating, and exceptional service, this was easily one of my favorite dining experiences. I would happily return again and again.

The spaces are fairly narrow, though, so be careful to park fully between the white lines. If you come in through the back entrance near the bar, you'll need to turn right and walk all the way to the front to find the hostess stand. The bar-area staff seemed a little annoyed when people asked where the hostess stand or restrooms were, although I imagine they probably get those questions often. The hostess was pleasant and seated us promptly. One note for anyone who tends to get cold: bring a cardigan or light jacket. There was a floor vent right beside our table, and I got pretty chilly as the evening went on. The menu offered a wide range of options, from pork chops and duck to salmon, but I was not especially excited by many of the pairings. I started with the crab soup and ordered the blackened sea bass special with coconut rice for my entrée. For the table, we shared the bang bang shrimp and burrata. Both were adequately portioned for our party of five. The bang bang shrimp had the right amount of heat, and the burrata was a nice combination of warm pita bread, portobello mushroom, cooked red peppers, fresh greens, and burrata. I would recommend both appetizers. My crab soup arrived hot and was perfectly seasoned. The spice level was just right, and I liked the balance of small strips of crab throughout, along with a few larger pieces. In my opinion, it had an excellent ratio of crab meat, vegetables, and broth. Unfortunately, the entrées were less impressive. They were all beautifully presented--colorful and nicely portioned--but the flavors left something to be desired. My sea bass was certainly blackened, but I would have enjoyed it much more if the skin had been crisp. Instead, it was soggy, likely because it was placed directly on top of the coconut rice, which also became soggy. The mango pieces were larger than necessary, and there was far too much of the tomato, green pepper, and onion mixture on top. At $46, I expected more in terms of flavor. On a positive note, our waitress was friendly and professional, and the young man who brought out our food was pleasant as well. The food also arrived quickly. Since this was my first visit to the area, I would like to explore other local restaurants before returning. Still, I would not be opposed to giving Oyster Bay Restaurant & Bar another chance and trying a different entrée--possibly the swordfish.

Reservations are a must and don't forget to BYOB. The vibes are quaint with a very small indoor dining room and an outdoor patio that's a bit larger. I'm really glad we requested a table outside, because the patio was so nice on a warm summer evening. What we ate -- started things off with mozzarella and heirloom tomato salad (on special) and kale cesar. All produce is sourced locally from Beach Plum Farm and both dishes were fab. For our main we shared crab cakes and scallops. Both were so fresh and came with a large portion. Every entree comes with brown rice and house cabbage slaw. Reviews will mention that this is pretty plain, but with the fresh seafood and dipping sauces it's really the perfect accompaniment. The scallops came with a delicious sweet ginger sauce and the crab cakes came with a creamy lemony tartar sauce. The decor is fun and kitschy and the inflatable whale in the bathroom tub made me laugh. Don't forget to grab a chocolate bar at the Louisa's chocolate shop which is adjacent to the restaurant. I'll be thinking about this meal for a while.

We were seated immediately by our server Flossy who also had very good recommendations on what to order. I followed those recommendations and got the Crab Cakes and the Key Lime Pie Cheesecake. My friend ordered the Seafood Pesto. I loved the Crab Cakes, it went well with the mango sauce and it was a very lump meat crab cake. Might be one of the best crab cakes I've ever had. The key lime cheesecake was very fluffy, airy, with the perfect balance of sweet and citrus. The seafood pesto was just OK in my opinion. I did like the food for the most part. However, the portions are a little on the small side. If it weren't for dessert and Flossy giving me a second dinner roll (another point for service!) I think I would've left still hungry. To be fair, I am considered a big eater and I came in starving. There were a few other questionable choices that prevent me from fully recommending this place. Some may consider the dining room cozy, I found it cramped, especially as it started to fill up with other customers. So this place is likely not going to work with a big party even if it's half full. We were a little surprised when trying to find the restroom too. We were handed a key, and had to go outside and in their back alley on a little treasure hunt to find a door labeled "Locked door". When ordering dessert, I was surprised the dessert menu did not list any prices even though their main menu did. Kind of obnoxious and pretentious if you ask me, but Flossy mentioned they were all $18 and big enough to share. That brings me one other point: pricing. I loved the food, but felt each menu item was twice the price that was appropriate for the portion. All in all, Freda's cafe has good food and great service. But it's held back by portion sizes, pricing, and a few other weird issues.
