Blue Mound Cafe Management, I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the unacceptable service and pricing issues I experienced during my recent visit. As a customer for many years I had expected a much higher standard of hospitality. The service was extremely slow and inattentive. We waited 25 minutes for someone to take our food order. When the food finally arrived my order was missing items. Of handling the error with professionalism the staff openly complained nearby making my party. Me feel unwelcome and like a major inconvenience. To make things worse I was overcharged on my bill. I was charged $10.00 for a smoked sausage that is clearly listed online for $6.49. This has happened in the past, but when I'm told it'll be fixed they call it double charging. This level of unprofessionalism, poor customer service and incorrect pricing is completely unacceptable. After years of supporting Blue Mound Cafe I am now seriously reconsidering whether I will ever return. I hope this feedback leads to changes, in how your team treats customers. read more

Always good food. Chicken Fried Steak is my go-to, but I have to have their home cut french fries (Some of them get dropped in the gravy). When I leave, I usually take a full stack of pancakes home. At home, I melt some real butter, and put more melted butter on a pancake than it ought to have. read more

Let me start by saying the service and the food was absolutely horrible today. I typically come here for the pulled chicken and dressing and or pulled turkey and dressing. Turkey served on Sunday. Depending on their mood they change the Chicken. Normally it's on Saturdays. Sometimes Fridays and was Thursdays I think. Moving forward I'll call ahead to confirm. Today of course they didn't have the chicken in dressing. They were offering southern style pork chops in gravy. I inquired about it and was told it was pork chops with brown gravy and cooked with onions and bell peppers...sounded delicious. I imagined slow cooked pork chops in a brown gravy, with onions and bell peppers. What arrived was slop. Fried porked chops smothered (drenched) in a super thick dark "jar" gravy with grilled onions and bell peppers. It was horrible in preparation and taste. The Mac in cheese was cooked to mush. We came here a month ago and learned that the restaurant was closed for a huge party. In fact all their locations were closed for a huge party. No biggie except this manager indicated we should have known as it had been posted for weeks.....posted where? The manager indicated this was the first complaint she's had in 5 years? That in itself irked me..... I love everything about Blue Mound, from its origin story of how the restaurant came to be and its charming story around the owners. Great service, great prices, cozy diner atmosphere. Food was fantastic. We both had chicken fried steak, eggs, and hash browns. One of the best cfs I've ever had. And the biscuit! I don't usually love biscuits but this one almost made me wish I had just ordered sausage and biscuits. We don't eat daytime meals out very often but I would come back here next time I had the chance - and I would love to come back to try the all you can eat fish Friday. read more

It was my brother and I first time here and it was delicious!!! Our server was kind, helpful in answering questions, and friendly. The ambiance was pleasant and the scenery was great. The Food: SO GOOD! My fried chicken fried was perfect. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was grateful for what I did receive. Not too fried and the chicken itself was perfect! My brother enjoyed his bacon and eggs along with some hash browns. He enjoyed the eggs so much, we ended up ordering a side of eggs. Everything was great. AND, for my coffee lovers, they had FRENCH VANILLA creamers A perfect spot for breakfast or brunch! If I'm in town again, I'll definitely return. Good job to the staff! Do not judge a book by its cover. I've seen reviews about this place but never have gone, but I wanted breakfast for dinner--and this is one of the few places that offers it. It's an older establishment and it had a "old diner" smell inside. We were greeted and seated promptly. I ordered the pancake combo (eggs, bacon and sausage, hashbrowns, a biscuit, and 1 large pancake). Wife had a 2 egg plate with meat and a biscuit with gravy. Food arrived quickly. Mine was great, scrambled eggs made perfectly, 2 strips of bacon and 2 sausage patties, and a fluffy biscuit...all were excellent. My wife's over-easy eggs were made properly as well. We shared the monster pancake which was thick and very cake-like, and it was more than enough for us. Service was attentive and personable, no complaints here. Checkout process was a little slow, as the line didn't move quickly and they seem to receive a high number of to-go orders...or at least they did at 6pm on Friday night. This was my first time coming here. I brought my mom here. She was with me after dropping off my pet at the crematorium. My dog had passed away the night before and I was definitely in an upset mood. Thisestablishment and the atmosphere and the waitress who helped us raise my vibe and really brought my spirits up. Our waitress went out of her way to help us and she was doing a really good job with everyone around. You could tell that she knew her stuff and she was a pro. All of the food was very delicious and hit the spot. My mom and I were both very satisfied and we're happy that we stopped at this place. We were not greeted by the older woman with a Karen haircut and hot pink hoops. We were met with attitude as soon as we walked in. Decided not to make a fuss out of it. She could be having a bad day. The same lady threw silverware onto our table and was refusing to make eye contact for some reason. A different waitress took our order who had fast and friendly service. If you aren't white passing you will be given looks and attitude by the patrons and some of the workers there. That ain't worth the food to be honest. Me and hubs went and we were seated very quick. The menu I very organized and there are definitely options for food. The waitress was quick and nice. Our food was served within a good amount of time and it was nice and warm. I took away 1 star due to the condition of the interior. The ceiling could def use some cleaning. And the bathrooms are SMALL.. I can only speak for the women's restroom, but that was a bit ick.. not just due to size but more like it was not maintained. This place is awesome!!!! Food was prepared properly with large portions of everything. The first night I had the stuffed bell pepper and the second night I had the meatloaf which was so huge I could not eat all of it. I went here on a Wednesday night and they have dinner specials. My dinner was $8.99 and it included 2 sides. They were not busy and it reminds me of the Dixie House, almost identical setup. A+ I ordered a simple egg breakfast with over medium eggs. The eggs were perfectly cooked. The hasbrowns looked like they could have been cooked more. I was concerned they were going to be semi hard. but they we're just fine. very tasty. The Gravy was average ready made style. The only thing they could do better with was the biscuits. Our first time to visit and the breakfast we had was great from the fluffy favored pancake (1) to the kitchen sink omelette to the fresh and flaky biscuit for the gravy all the way to the French toast & bananas. Cute little place with amazing food! Our server was sweet and you could tell a lot of people there knew her. Great servers keep people coming back for sure! My wife and I chose to eat at the Blue Mound Cafe, based on recommendations from friends on Friday night 08AUG2025. We arrived at 630PM and were seated by a gracious gentleman and he took our drink orders and he brought them to our table in short order. Que the crickets, it took 15 minutes before a server asked for our order. And the Cafe was NOT BUSY! So many open tables and servers not attending customers. Our Chicken Fried Steaks were coated with flour so heavy with salt and pepper, they were inedible without the bland creme gravy to offset the heavy handed over seasoning. Ive tasted sea water with less salt than that meats coating had! The fries were way under cooked and semi raw. Service by the server was spotty as she wandered in an out of the kitchen for long periods. I barely left a 5% tip and that was based on the gracious gentleman who seated us and was bussing tables. He was the only standout worth mentioning! They also do not offer a Military or Police discount,but that's fine. I understand margins are slim in the Restaurant business. We will not be going back to the Blue Mound cafe ever. read more

Manager patti hinton is mother of the owners and horrible to deal with. Very argumentative when I inquired about the HORRIBLY bad and worn carpet. Only had 1 waitress for entire resturant and cared NOTHING for her welfare. On 2nd visit she charged me a processing fee, when I inquired about it, she retorted at me " it is on the front door" but it is NOT!! she sent waitress to show me and prove me wrong, waitress told her its not present, the ran her mouth at me "every business is doing it" In the end the waitress told me dont come back. patti is in NO WAY a manager, doesnt even do her own job!!!! read more

First time trying this place out. Service was good, food would have been more enjoyable if the air conditioning was working properly. Mom and wife were hot the during the whole meal which was not enjoyable by the four of us.
