Stopped in for brunch on our way through town. Our waitress was great, orders came out right, waters stayed filled, check ins were right on time and suggestions/descriptions were spot on! We started with the scone, it was alright- edges a made it seem a little dry but the middle was cooked perfect. Flavor was alright- wouldn't order it again though. Had a great breakfast for dinner during their third Thursday through August Breakfast for Dinner promo. Wish they would keep it going past August and other Breakfast/Lunch spots would catch on too! The Hostess, who may be the manager? was very friendly and informative. Our server Billy Bacon, oh yes, that's his name so he says LOL!! Also was top notch and enthusiastic to serve us hot delicious food. My husband had the Chicken and the Egg, he said it was good but would order the gravy on the side next time since it didn't seem to go with the dish. I had never heard of urban egg so we decided to give it a shot. Luckily it has a lot of tables because it was pretty busy, but we only waited a few minutes for a table on a Saturday. It appears to be a slightly upscale breakfast and lunch restaurant. We found out it was started in Colorado. The dining room was very clean and they have quite a few tables outside, on the patio as well. I had the shrimp and grits, which was pretty amazing. It seemed like a small portion at first, but it filled me up. Great flavors and the grits were cooked perfectly. I also ordered a biscuit and it was obviously homemade but it wasn't the best biscuit I've ever had. My wife really liked the tamale Benedict. I took a bite and it was good. The staff is attentive, friendly, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They're also fantastic with kids -- they hand out little iPad-style sketch pads to keep the little ones entertained, and even offer a small toy/trinket package you can purchase. Such a thoughtful touch that makes dining here a breeze for families. Now, on to the food (and it's saying something that I'm talking about the service first -- they're really that good). The food is outstanding. Everything is clearly scratch-made to order and beautifully presented. I had the best breakfast sandwich of my life here, and their eggs benedicts are incredible -- unique flavor combinations that keep you coming back to try more. The urchata is a mix between chocolate milk and horchata, a delightful way to start the morning. The cure, while not my favorite, was a nice refreshing drink made with orange, vanilla, coconut water, and pineapple. The steak and eggs were very good, served with sautéed mushrooms that really elevated the dish along with the roasted espresso butter. The hashbrowns were loaded and perfectly crispy with a bit of spice. The sausage and gravy was simple but in the best way, fluffy and just wonderful balance of flavor. I've been to this location twice in two days! The service i have received from Crystal on the first visit and Skylar on the second visit has been unmatched!! They were both so kind and demonstrated excellent customer service. I'll start with my first visit i got the billionaire bacon 10/10, then for an entree steak and eggs which was amazing with that expresso butter!! The second time i opted for the shrimp and grits. They ask you how "done" you want your poached egg and they actually poach it how you ask. Definitely a step up from the other Benedict's I've sampled in the area. I had serious FOMO when my husband was served this! Bacon and sourdough bread on the 3 Eggs Your Way were delicious. The butter was definitely sourced in house. We asked to have Cholula hot sauce brought out and the waitress brought us some local hot sauces to sample in addition to the Cholula. They were awesome! Urban Egg, operated by a Colorado-based restaurant group, offers a bright and inviting atmosphere with a modern design based on white and yellow tones, filled with gentle natural light that makes for a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, this place doesn't serve my favorite -- Salmon Benedict -- which is typically found at most breakfast spots. However, they offer a unique item Tuscan Benny. The combination of prosciutto and balsamic sauce unexpectedly complemented the hollandaise sauce, and it turned out to be delicious. The Stuffed French Toast is much larger than it looks in photos -- definitely too much for one person to finish. That said, the cream cheese filling is not overly sweet, and the brioche is soft and fluffy, striking a perfect balance. This one is a definite must-try. The staff were all kind and friendly. If I had to mention one downside, I'd recommend avoiding the seats near the door leading to the patio. Every time the door closes, it slams loudly, and the gusts of wind will mess up your hair. Even if I did like dried fruit, there was way too much of it. The ratio was completely off, and it threw the whole thing off balance. My family and I went to Brunch at Urban Egg this past Saturday for a birthday party. The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant and it appears relatively new. Now on to the reason why I gave it 3 stars. There were 12 in our party and only one server. She did a very good job taking care of us however there was a slight wait when we needed something. There appeared to be other servers standing around the bar that could have helped but I guess they had other things to do. Now on to the food. UE has an awesome menu with the ability to order alcoholic drinks. I ordered the Avocado toast with scrambled eggs. The toast was tough and difficult to cut with a butter knife. I had to get a steak knife and it was still difficult. My sister was having the same problem. It was like the toast was sitting around for a while getting stale with the avocado sitting on top until you order the egg. The side salad was good. My brother thought that his chicken and waffle was subpar and the gravy had an aftertaste. There were a few others disappointed with their food but for the most part it was acceptable fare. Everyone was super friendly from when you first enter to the servers and the place is really clean and there's also an outdoor area you can sit to eat. I ended up getting biscuits with gravy and the appetizer was bacon. It was a thick almost caramelized bacon, and it was delicious. I tried to my friends pancakes and those were so good. The iced coffee was so flavorful. I wished it was a little bit stronger on the coffee, but it was delicious!! Parking is a bit of a pain there's not much we circled a few times.
