Fantastic meal!!!! So a couple of things you should know... while they don't take reservations, you can get on the wait list (highly recommended) and start checking long Before you want to eat. Last night when we tired we were 83rd on the list. They rest the list between 3-4 for dinner, so If you are having trouble keep trying. Food is excellent! Rarely do I write reviews. Menu is incorrect. There was no seafood in the seafood chowder with the exception of the 3 mussels on top. Should be called potato soup. My husband's was the same. This place is top drawer. Went for a full dinner and drinks on a couples trip to PEI. Insane interior with incredible views. Tons of locals and seemed like a place where everyone knows each other. Seafood bubbly bake was unreal, not too heavy and super fresh. Halibut was knock your socks off good. Mussels were excellent as well. Amazing food in a great atmosphere! We recently dined here on the last night of our 9 day vacation and it topped all other meals we that had to the point of no comparison. Definitely worth the wait to jump on the waitlist to get in. Be prepared for the weather though as it is open air so can get a bit chilly when the sun goes down. They have amazing wool blankets for you to warm up but it definitely would help to have dressed more warmly. We will definitely be back! read more

Best meal we had on our trip to the Maritimes! Everything we tried was so delicious, wish we could have had eaten more! For appetizer, we got the Oysters, Seafood Chowder and Lobster Dip. They were very generous with the lobster in the lobster dip! You can actually taste the lobster!! For the main, we got the Twice Baked Lobster and Jamie's Famous Scallop Linguine. Both super delicious! I would recommend coming with more people so that you can order more dishes and try everything!!! (Smaller portion sizes compared to other restaurants of similar cuisine, a casual dress code with fine dining courses and prices) For a the budget minded or lighter chow, opt for the creamy Seafood Chowder ($16) and savoury steamed mussels instead ($12-15). Sitting here inside the "cafe" (fisherman's shack vibe) as i write this review (surrounded by the hustle and bustle of young energetic servers and loud, chatty (maybe drunk) tourists while nestled COMFORTABLY and DIRECTLY behind the scenic North Rustico fishing wharf. During summer peak season (June-August) expect a wait of more than 60 mins with the possibility of no reservation available at dinner time. Most likely you'll need to provide a cellphone number or use the Yelp APP to wait your turn which may deter some tourist, but it is TOTALLY worth it! Enjoy a picturesque afternoon stroll along the wooden water boardwalks with loved ones. Share a beer or two with locals and chuckle a laughter with silly friends or children begging for ice cream. Mildly take in the salty Atlantic Ocean aroma scattered by old lobster traps and feel the warmth of Canada Day tourists and friendly hosts. We did the wait list thing and walked right in when we got there. We were seated at a picnic table upstairs with open windows at 7:30pm. Cool air blowing in made the food cold pretty fast! I had crusted haddock which was seasoned way too much and too salty. The piece of turnip, asparagus, picked onion and cucumber were all nice contrasts of flavor. Disappointing. I used to go here annually with my family, from way back when this place was scarcely more than a cute shack on North Rustico Harbour. Maybe it's my nostalgia-coloured glasses but I have to say I had been expecting more. Though the service was excellent and efficient - and I suspect fuelled by rainbows and/or cocaine insofar as the overly cheerful waitress was concerned- (but hey, I appreciate and respect that given the thanklessly abhorrent nature of service jobs) the food was decent at most, for the exorbitant price we paid. I ordered the cauliflower tacos. This is only because I'm now pescatarian and the moment we sat down, there was a serious announcement made that the afore-advertised halibut on the menu (in a place literally surrounded by fish mongers like Doiron's down the road) was cryptically unavailable and went woefully unsubstituted. So basically, the three, now-defunct halibut menu items left me with literally no other option but a haddock burger which- if my sister's gamey impression of the whole burger affair was accurate- I am glad I forwent. The three tacos were a decent size, definitely enough for a meal, and the mango salsa was honestly zesty and delicious. The cauliflower itself however, while palatable, was under-seasoned and flaccid. (Yes, I am using that word.) The lack of deep fryer in this place seems to be touted as some sort of laudable quality (since this was a point we were immediately made aware of) but given how profoundly depressing and soggy the cauliflower was, I'm definitely team deep fryer, (or at least, Team Functional Oven). Fry the nutrition and shame out of those vegetables, if they're to be only option, I say! This, incidentally, was also the reason behind the potato wedges that were suggested to me in lieu of actual French *gasp-FRIED-* fries. The mushy and cold spuds seemed to be a bit insulting to the literal potato capital of the country, on principle, even though they were seasoned well. And yes, while I do have a flair for the dramatic, I suspect I'd be far less maudlin if I hadn't paid nearly 30$ for sad plant stems in a tortilla with 3 squashy carbs slices. Still; the place is lovely with a beautiful decor, impeccable service and the drinks are absolutely excellent. I would recommend a visit if only for the experience of that, and the spectacle of pathologically friendly staff. read more

The price for lobster is $35 before tax and tip and $45 after the tax and tip. It is slightly cheaper than the other restaurant with a lot of tour bus. This spot is popular among the tourists. It is probably the only time I would come here. If I ever come back to PEI, I would probably not stop by here since this place is not cheap and wait time is long.
