The staff are VERY nice and the salon is clean. Seriously- the staff are really very nice. Sadly, kindness doesn't replace skill and attention to detail. The cuticle and polish job shown in the pictures speak for themselves. Also, they up charge for the very basics (e.g. callus removal- without paying more it's just a few strokes with the pumice stone- although it varies by staff- I sat next to someone who had at least some callus removal done). Furthermore, advertised prices online aren't accurate. The price list is available by scan code once in the shop. So, I dropped $65 (mani/pedi) and will be spending even more time removing all of the gel polish on my own, filing down my cuticles so that they're smooth, pumicing my own feet, sanding down my own calluses, and repainting my own nails. While I waited for uneven layers of my nails to air dry (no fans), I watched someone come in a 10 minutes before close) and had a better result than mine. That was hard to accept... The mani was okay - I didn't want polish, and they didn't buff, so - again - more DIY. I called in advance, came in with flip flops, all of my nails were clean and bare, and I paid in cash. I even brought my own polish (but liked one of their colors more). I was polite and courteous (I wasn't on my phone. I really hope that they use their friendly kindness to create a better and more consistent (and professional looking) result for all of their patrons. My expectations from a nail salon are: 1 - I'll be able to use the features of the chair (e.g. sitting upright, using the features of the chair). Even though I tried to adjust the chair and asked for help, the nail tech didn't understand me, and kept inviting me to scan the QR code for the menu of services. I gave up and stuck my purse behind my back to help me sit upright. 2 - The basic pedicure/manicure includes the basics - full polish removal (although I came in with clean nails), cuticle removal and smoothing, a good effort at exfoliation on my feet, heels, and toes/corns, I'll tolerate the: "massage" (which is usually just a slathering of stinky lotion; I'd much rather more exfoliation), filing nails into a uniform and flattering shape, smoothing of skin, a base coat, 2-3 even and professional looking coats of nail polish, a top coat, and for my nails to be dry enough to drive before leaving. I expect my nails to look as if they were professionally done. 3 - if there are two armrests, and my manicure is happening at the same time as my pedicure, I expect the manicurist to switch sides instead of asking me to stretch my arm to the other side. Heard great reviews about this place so thought I'd give it a try. Someone suggested Danny so I thought I'd make an appointment with him. They started my pedicure right away and Danny came to start my gel x set. I always get gel x so I was excited for my set. He was working very fast and I believe he finished my set in 30-40 mins or less. I was a bit surprised but if you're going to do my nails fast, the set should be good. It looked great and he gave me the designs that I wanted exactly. The next day I was putting magnets on my refrigerator and one of my nails broke so easily. I was devastated bc I just got them and the nail salon is literally 25 mins away from me to get it fixed and I didn't have time to go there until Wednesday(it was Tuesday when my nail broke). The next morning as I was getting ready to leave to go back to the salon, I was in the shower washing my hair when another nail broke! Also, the nail on my thumb chipped yesterday so I'm just going to take this whole set off :( I get gel x every once a month and it rarely ever breaks for me especially since I'm careful with my nails bc I don't mind paying good money for them. I like to try new salons every once in awhile and if they're good I like to keep coming back. I think it's just the quality of the gel x that I had that didn't work out great for me. I had an appointment. I started with a pedicure. It was extremely mid. They did not scrub for very long and the massage was weak and the gel polish was a little sloppy. There was these two women that walked in to get serviced. It seemed like after that, the manicurists was rushing to complete my pedicure and gel polish change. I had the appointment, the two ladies were walk-ins. One day after I got gel polish on my nails they were already chipping. after coming here a total of three times i can speak highly of the manicurist and how he does nails, very beautiful work. however based on my experience, whether u make an appointment or not doesn't really matter they will prioritize walk ins and tell u they may not have the time to do what u want and u might need to come in another time, just to squeeze other people in. another thing is one of the pedicure ladies is a straight up beginner, my first time going there she gave me an ingrown toenail and the SECOND time she quite literally dug into my skin to "fix" it. felt more like a torture procedure if anything. my toe felt injured and it hurt to walk for about 3 weeks after, even touching it hurt a lot. and on my third time coming, she deadass was using a file on the ends of my toes. she kept touching me up to do a whole lot of nothing plus the towel looked dirty. and she was looking at tutorials on how to do an ombre and bcs she couldn't do it i then had two people on my toes and one on my nails which is crazy. the entire staff basically. i can say the other two people are good at their job the other lady that does pedicure's was able to do the ombre nice, its jus that other lady. overall very bad experience with getting my toes done. they prioritize having more customers despite working on someone already that had an appointment and their lack of staff (3). UPDATE: it's now a few months later and the older pedicurist lady which i spoke of earlier gave me an infection, i'm not sure how if the tools she used weren't sanitary or if it's because she was digging into my skin repeatedly but it's caused an infection and there's puss under my toe now i have to worry if i have to go to the doctor. jus beware of this place.. if u have to get it done here get the slimmer/younger lady to do ur toes.. the other woman isn't even qualified for something like that. read more

I have been trying to find a nail salon for the longest time. I have tried so many different salons, super nice ones, ones with tons of reviews Castro valley mostly. There's always something I didn't like. Yes I am picky, because I'm paying for a service. I called at 11 and was asked to come in at 12. I got there at 11:50 because I forgot I had dip on my nails so I wanted to let them know. I must admit, I was a tad nervous going in. It's not pretty on the outside or inside I did find out ownership changed not long ago so they're just starting. I still sat down and went with it. Mimi took off the dip quickly. The owner asked what I wanted and asked if I wanted a pedicure and that they do it while I get my nails done. I said why not. Let me just say the royal pedicure is ammmmazing and Mimi is a magician. She's tiny but mighty, my massage was perfection It's well worth the price! I always get something simple, so this may not impress everyone, but my nails are exactly what I wanted. I am growing my natural nails out and always love an overlay. He did it beautifully. Isn't too thick, natural looking and he even talked about what he would recommend for my next appointment. He's fast but very efficient and allows ample time to finish when other customers call for appointments. There are only three people working there so make sure to call ahead.
