FYI: I used to live in NY and Philly, so I know what I'm talking about. And the owner/chef is from --surprise--Naples! If you think Papa John's has the best pizza, do yourself a favor and get a frozen pizza from Food Lion, which is in the same strip mall. What's excellent: the meatballs, strombolis, pizzas (I like NY style, but Earl likes the Sicilian), calzones, wings, adrienne foccacia, cheesesteak special, steak fries, cannoli, tiramisu. For all the items above, I'd give them a 4.5-5 for food. The pizza crust is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside and tastes good even just dipped in ranch dressing. The wings are crunchy and tender (but sometimes a little too salty). What's not good: chicken alfredo (which is oily from the butter in the white sauce and the bacon), Italian sub (which totally skimps on meat and cheese). What's terrible: service. They often screw up orders and this is why I can't give them a 5/5. The wait staff/cashiers (an ever-changing crew of what I'm guessing are high schoolers/part-time students) are HIGHLY incompetent-- I'm not sure if it's from laziness, lack of concern, or just straight up lack of mental ability. They generally seem glazed over, apathetic, inattentive, cold and rude. They either lack basic observational skills, lack the ability to process what might happen next, lack the ability to multitask, lack the ability to prioritize and organize, or suffer from more than one of these things. Also, when you call in an order, wait staff has a tendency to be very short with you. What was once perhaps a lovely little strip mall now features several vacant storefronts, a gaudy and blinding vape shop, and a seamy Fish Game establishment which doubtless operates at the edge of legality and attracts the most pathetic, degenerate gamblers (there IS help! 1-800-522-4700). I mention this because poor Blue Naples is flanked by the two aforementioned businesses, and in contrast is a cozy little place staffed by very nice employees. And they make a darn good New York style pizza. The toppings were generous and tasty (they actually lay on the garlic unlike so many others I've experienced!). The food went downhill over the last year. Out last trip resulted in tough, undercooked pasta shells on both plates and the tomato sauce was more like they had mixed water in a ketchup bottle and poured it over the food. My teenage son couldn't even finish his chicken sandwich, he said it was so dry he couldn't swallow it. We did get it taken off the bill but had left so much uneaten food we had to leave there and find something else to eat. read more

I LOVE their steak and cheese subs!! Their sandwiches come with potato chips. You can pay $1.00 extra for fries which I would not recommend because you get a handful of big steak fries (my hands are pretty small).... so not too many fries (definitely not worth paying the extra money). The pizza is good too... just regular New York style. The service is ok, but if you have problems getting refills you can just walk 10 feet and help yourself to the soda fountain. I wish there was more seating room so if you're going to eat here, you will probably be more comfortable doing take out from here. Edit: Get their Vegetable Stromboli! Roasted garlic bits on top... I am a NY Pizza snob surviving in NC since 08. Blue Naples is my "go to" place here in the land of medicore pizza. I have tried them all and this is the best. If you are from NY don't expect great pizza, but this is good stuff. The calzones are also decent - spinach or garlic and tomato. Sometimes not enough ricotta and when it gets cold the mozzarella gets hard. Garlic knots are fantastic but must eat hot. They also get hard real fast. Place is small but decorated nice. This is a pizza with personality. None of that cardboard crust and bland sauce/boring seasonings here, Yelpers . The crust is thin, crispy, and yet bends well did the fold test. Had lunch here recently and they serve up a pretty good New York style pizza. I love thin crusts pizzas so they had me at that but I also like their sauce. Now they could use just a tad bit more sauce but they were generous with the cheese so I didn't think that the pizza suffered. There was 3 of us that shared their 1 topping large pizza for lunch and it was only $9.99!! You can't beat that deal! They also have other lunch specials and serve up pasta and subs. We cant make a pizza for everyone who does know what they order. So we paid for a whole pizza and just ate half. Then there was a hair in our food again they didn't care. The service sucked and the waitress was very rude. Never refilled our drinks and ignored us the whole time. We will never do business there again. OK, five is too many but I gasped when I saw people giving this place only 2! Its inconsistent admittedly, and there's stuff on the menu that are off the hook excellent, stuff not on the menu (ask for the shrimp fra diavolo pizza!) that ranks with some of the best dishes this reviewer ever has tried. Sure, some stuff is only so-so...not a fan of broccoli in my pasta:-\ I've been going here for many years and while I've had my socks knocked off, there is the few instances when it was just average. Here's my tips to what's excellent. First, if you know what good calamari is supposed to taste like...fried quick and hot,not chewy but tender, you will like it here. Sandwiches are on some really good bread, plain turkey sub is a favorite. Steak and cheese is very good too. The couple sandwiches they make on fresh made foccacia are awesome! We really like to get the Piadina Romanola. Its like a steak and cheese made with ham too, made in the pizza oven fresh baked...yummy! Ask for extra sauce to dip it in. Seriously, one of the best sandwiches available in the triad. Let's see, next. Of the pasta dishes, I really like their plain spaghetti and meatballs. They make them from scratch and they are done right. The plain house marinara sauce is excellent,sweet and fresh. You would have a hard time to find better. Pizza is always good if you like a Brooklyn style thin and crisp, slightly chewy crust. Always ask for 'well done". These guys take great pride in making good crust and it shows. I usually order a plain cheese...real cheese too. So there you go. Don't skip this place until you've sampled the things they do that are truly awesome. First of all to call this pizza is a stretch. Its round, its pizza like, and that is it. I dont know where in NY you people eat, But I do know that if you serve this sludge in NY you might get shot! I lived on Long Island so I can say that! I ate here once and that was once too many. I phoned in a order and picked it up. When I got home all of the toppings, cheese and sauce included had slid off of the dough and was in a pile inside the box. The absolute nastiest thing I have tried to eat in some time. The dough was strange, cardboard like outside and soft inside.. like a stale crust from a grocery store except worse. The sauce was likely the cheapest possible thing available and had a soap taste to it. All in all this is the worst pizza I have ever had. Save your money and get a frozen pizza.
