Perfect 10 Nails! They came to the rescue when I called and got a callback shortly after! I was so happy they squeezed me into their schedule with my last minute ask towards their closure time. Tracy did my gel acrylic full set and was super nice, helpful, great! Cute space with lunar new year decorations and orchids and other plants. Stopped here on my way home, they got me in fairly quickly which was nice. They had me sit down at a chair with no tub liner & had me put my feet in it. (added it later) the massage was okay, not $60 worth. When they wanted to move me to do my manicure, they refused to give me the slippers and had me walk barefoot across the salon. Once I sat down they said one minute- which turned into 27 mins. My acrylic was lumpy and bent. When I went to leave, I asked for slippers again so I didn't mess my shoes up with my polish. I'm writing this review for a family member who is not tech-savvy. She has been going to this nail salon for several years as it is conveniently located within walking distance of her home. The salon owner has always requested to be paid in cash or check only. Unfortunately, the last two checks that were written for services were cashed for a much-higher amount than they were written for. MUCH higher. I just got my nails done here and would definitely not recommend, I had a horrible experience. First of all my nails turned out completely different than the inspiration photo I showed and both hands look very different than the other(see photo). It not only took 2 and a half hours but when I asked the lady to fix the uneven chrome they refused. During the nails I felt exetreme pain and they had to rip off the uneven nails they originally put on. The lady doing my nails accidentally scratched off the actual paint of my nails while putting on the chrome and another lady had to come over and fix yet, yet it was no use. My friend waited over an hour after her appointment before they started doing her nails and there were many people who were on break. Definitely would not recommend Perfect 10 Nails to anyone. read more

The salon built plexiglass dividers that sit between you and the salon staff, as well to the stations next to you. Temperature checks are taken, stations sanitized, and staff wear protective gear. As for the actual mani/pedis, I've found this salon to be the best. I had a pedi before Covid that ended up lasting 3 months - which is unheard of for me - and that's how good their work is. I will NEVER go anywhere else in San Diego. I stumbled upon this place because we were having our wedding in La Jolla. The staff made every single moment special, everyone was so kind and very joyous. We had 4 manis and pedis scheduled and they were so organized. Got most of us in and out. My nails took a little longer because look at the artistry!!! Annahanh was beyond amazing. She was friendly, super professional and overall so amazing! We just went to the museum in the area and wanted to hop in for pedicures before catching sunset. It was a Saturday around 4pm and they were able to take 2 walk ins. We got the lavender upgrade which included a longer (12mins vs 6min) foot massage and callous removal. $40, not terrible. Lots of color choices. The place was very clean and my nail tech was joking around with me which made the experience all the more enjoyable. read more

I was running errands in the area last week and decided to stop by for a quick brow wax. I'll start by saying that I have a birthmark in which part of one of my brows is very light. I actually never think about it at all...at least not until last week. When I walked in, I was quickly escorted to the back room. As I lay on the table and waited, the woman commented with astonishment that one of my brows was "half white and half black". I ignored her, thinking that I would just get this over with. Part way through, she persisted, talking about how strange it was that it was just one of my brows. I commented with an irritated "I know", hoping to shut her up. Well, a bit later, she told me she was done, and then she started talking about my eyebrows once again. I opened my eyes and saw that she was laughing at me. Seriously, I'm paying for this service....to have some grown woman make fun of me. Anyway, I cannot even say how annoying this experience was. read more

What a $24 Manicure at Perfect 10 Nails gets you. They didn't even give me any color though I asked multiple times. The lady that did my nails, I don't remember her name but she only works on Sundays, was excessively complementing me saying I was beautiful, so cute, and that she loves me, made me extremely uncomfortable. The entire 2 hour experience I couldn't relax because she was constantly looking for affirmations on her service. Every literal two seconds she'd look at me and asked if I liked how she was massaging my feet. And she stared at me the entire time. Moreover after I was done I gave her $80 for the service and $20 and ask for change to leave her a tip. She went somewhere in a back and then came back and told me she counted the money and I gave her only $80. I was shocked, because I just took $100 out of ATM before entering mail salon. I was doubting if I lost $20 somewhere.... so she told me I could Venmo her because they did not take credit cards, so I Venmoed extra $16. Second time same situation happened! I gave the lady that did my nails $40 (for $38 gel) and then gave her $20 and asked for change. She was frantically looking in her pocket and then took out $10 and said I only gave her $10! I'm upset and frustrated with this nail place. I was at vons grocery store shopping around 2pm on my lunch break,and I noticed this nail place. So walked across the parking lot to see if they had any availability for nail appointments. And Ann told me "there is only one nail tech who does acrylic nails, so you come back later at 6pm." So I said "okay! I'll be back later for a new set and made the appointment." I went back to work and fast forward a few hours. And I am here!!! Literally walked up to the salon and they are closing and shutting everything down and only have one nail tech out doing nails. And the same lady (Ann) who I talked to earlier came out of the salon, and ask me my name. I told her that " I came earlier around 2pm and that she told me to come at 6pm for my nails." She then looked at me and "said oh no she's the only nail tech who does acrylics....... and she's busy. How about you come back tomorrow." I replied with "this is my second time coming back after I made an appointment face to face and I don't trust that you will have an appointment for me and I'm leaving on a trip tonight." I initially walked away frustrated, dissatisfied, and angry, because she didn't even try to accommodate me-- after she made the appointment and made the mistake. And As I was walking away I noticed they have yelp posters posted everywhere, so I went back and asked for the ladies name (Ann) and told her I was going to leave a review. After I told them that then they were suddenly trying to make things work in fear of getting the review. They should have initially done that and now I do not want to support this local business at all. I expected to have an appointment to have my nails done and now it's Friday night at 6:30pm and everyone is CLOSED-- so sadly for me due to their unorganized scheduling I don't have nails. They lack customer service and need to work on their scheduling, because they lost a good opportunity to work with someone who could have sent them lost of clients. read more

Are there any decent nail salons?! I decided to come to this place because even though there were bad reviews because the owner seemed to care. First visit to this nail place went wellish enough for me to come back and bring my daughter for mani/pedis. Not great location, not especially clean, no amenities but I'm desperately looking for a nail salon that I can frequent. Big mistake. We arrived for our appt, they told us to pick a color and then ignored us. Started our appt late. Terribly hostile service. Just women speaking their language, staring me and my little one down and laughing at us. *I may not speak the language but you can tell when people are speaking badly about you* We wore masks our entire appt and when my daughter cleared her throat the techs stopped the service and stared at her then started going off to each other, very obviously about us. My tech used dirty and previously used tools on me and then just put them back in her drawer. At the end of my service, I was just left with the light over my foot while my tech went and sat and watched tv on her phone with the 5 other ladies. Another customer came in and my tech offered her drinks, snacks, and helped her right away so they obviously offer some a decent service. This was my part of my daughter's birthday present, which I mentioned in hopes of them being more pleasant, and they were still terribly rude to her. I don't know what's happened here in La Jolla where the service workers feel like they are so above their customers and able to treat them so poorly. I will say that the first time I came in I was wearing high end jewelry and clothing and the second time I had been running errands and wearing casual athletic wear. Can't help but feel that may have something to do with how they treated me.....even if I was poor should I have been treated so badly? $168 for a mediocre mani/pedi and to have people act hostile the entire 2 hours we were there (which is amazingly too long).....I'll spend my money elsewhere. read more

"5 minutes" she says. After 50 minutes they were ready. But I had meetings to get to, which is why you make appointments. Very rude to accept appointments you can't keep. Super disappointing nail salon!! The employees here were off to me, not sure what's up but seemed like they were all a little afraid. Noticing that alone was enough to keep me from returning but by the time my friend and I came to that conclusion it was too late because I was well within the mani/pedi service. The quality of the service itself was subpar, especially given the fact that I've been to other Perfect 10s (I know different owners, but still) and I've had good results. I got gel (a service I always get) and they were messed up by the next day. Usually my gel manicures last me at least two weeks! My toes also got chipped by later that night. Again, pedicures usually last me at least two weeks. What's the point of sitting at the salon for so long, especially under the UV light, if the nails are just going to get messed up so soon after getting them done?! I for sure won't be back and wouldn't recommend this place to any of my friends. read more

I received dipping powder for the first time. It does not look good. I have beautiful, long,natural nails but after the dipping powder, they look like fake acrylic nails. I chose a beautiful dark pink color and when it was all finished I had an orange red color. I was so disappointed to see the color as it wasn't the one I had chosen. I'm stuck with this color as it may last 3 weeks or more! The technicians seemed rushed and distracted. My foot massage was not enjoyable. I did not receive cuticle care or a hand massage with my manicure. It was a disappointing experience. I will not return to this salon. read more
