I really wanted to try this place since I lived down the street from it but didn't get the chance to only because I loved their sister restaurant. The inside is decorated really nice. Service was okay, she was very nervous and we asked for some recommendations in which she was very vague. We ended up ordering short rib crispy bun, khao soi with short rib, and shrimp yellow curry. The short rib crispy bun was pretty good and thought it was a good start to the experience. That's where it ended. We got both of our entrees and my short rib pieces inside my khao soi was like beef jerky. At first I thought because it was the end piece that it was a little dry but come to find out it was all of it. It was overcooked. I brought it to our server's attention and she kind of laughed it off and took it back to the kitchen. I asked her if it was the same meat as the crispy bun because car was tender. She asked me if I wanted it remade in which I didn't cause the dish itself was not good either. Then the shrimp yellow curry had a nasty fishy taste from the shrimp. I was told to try it and the manager came out during that time and said he took the khao soi off of our bill. Sitting in a new little commercial area in the middle of nowhere, 10 min south of the Strip, this location must attract primarily residents in the nearby new apartments and the residents of upscale neighborhoods in West Henderson/Anthem. The inside decor, with all the fake hanging plants, is very well done, creating expectations of an extraordinary dining experience. It was 20% full at 6 p.m. on a Friday and 40% full at 8 p.m. when we left (not a great sign). Drink service was a bit slow. Most $14 craft cocktails were very sweet and not strong. Wine pours might prompt you to ask if they were a joke: 3-4 ounces. No exaggeration. Basically a half glass. Draft beers for $8 were served in a small, probably 10-12 ounce max, glass. Definitely not a typical pint (16 oz.). Beer was also almost room temperature. Spring rolls were bland and boring, with a filling that was just 90% cabbage. They were also served too hot, and a couple of people burned their tongues. Yellow curry, Pad Thai (which looked nothing like a typical family-size shareable portion), and the deep-fried cod special were good, not spectacular. Fried rice dishes were good tasting, especially the pineapple fried rice served in a half pineapple, but there was way too much oil in the rice. Tom soup served at the table was gimmicky but enjoyable. Their signature Khao Mun Gai dish was a ripoff. It consisted of a small portion of boneless chicken thighs like you get at a teriyaki shop for $12, but with half as much chicken (and $27) on a huge pile of rice with this delicious gravy sauce, which they gave too little of. The chicken had a hint of marinade, and pieces varied from juicy to rubbery. Overall, a disappointment, mainly on protein portion size given the price and the fact it was just thigh meat. I could not stop thinking of the word "shrinkflation" or "California prices" when leaving this place. If you put a premium on the decor, aren't very price sensitive, don't drink alcohol, and happen to order a hit rather than a miss off the menu, you might find Blue Orchid quite enjoyable, living up to its 4.5-star average. Otherwise, it seems to me the great decor may be overshadowing the actual value, and quality for some menu items, of the food and drinks overall. Caution on service expectations, as it appears understaffed, so service could be slow when it's over 50% capacity. read more

Came here on a Sunday evening with a 6 PM reservation and we were seated promptly, which is always a great start. The restaurant had a lively but comfortable energy--busy enough to feel popular, but not chaotic. We decided to order family-style so we could try a variety of dishes, and honestly, everything that came out was delicious. We had a great time! I wish I could remember our server's name, we came in a few weeks ago and everything was great. First, it's very beautiful inside! We had a reservation for Friday night and it wasn't too busy. We were led to these very nice booths that face out to the restaurant. We each ordered a cocktail (had just missed happy hour) and dang they were good! For food we started with the beef jerkey, which dang! It was so moist and tasted so flavorful. I would absolutely order this again. For my main I got the yellow curry with chicken and it was tasty! I was torn on getting noodles, which I'll definitely try next time. Everyone else loved their food as well! Great drinks, really good food, very friendly service, lovely atmosphere....there's a lot to love about this place! I really wish I took photos of the interior because the space is absolutely beautiful. It is very modern and thoughtfully put together. There is a bar area that looks inviting and like a great place to grab a unique cocktail after work. The star of the show for me was the beef pad see ew. Great flavor and texture (I hate when noodles are too soft) plus it came in the cutest container! We ordered a curry and asked for it to be a level 4 out of 5 and it had the same level of spice as the level 2 pad krapow so our server brought us the chili rack but it didn't make it better. The crispy pork buns were good but the buns themselves don't need to be fried. What did not work for me was the Pandan brownie sundae. It sounded really creative and I had high hopes as the main dishes were delicious but it was a complete flop. The flavors didn't work well together and the brownie didn't taste like pandan at all and was very overcooked. Our waitress was nice and friendly, which added to the experience. The food was good, though maybe not my favorite overall. We ordered appetizers including the tempura mushrooms and the chicken wings. For entrées, we ordered green curry, pad Thai, pad see ew, and fried rice. We are in Vegas for the weekend and looking for a new Thai spot, Blue Orchid Thai Kitchen is south of the city and has good reviews. They are 15-20 minutes south of the strip. The interior is beautifully decorated and extremely clean. The plant life and decor is very soothing. Although the owner's family is in the Thai food business and it is their son's his first venture on his own. A very impressive start for his first place. Once seated we ordered the Thai crying tiger on a stick with cucumber salad, Thai spices and a delicious dipping sauce. The meat was tender, juicy and packed with good grilled flavor. Our next choice was the tempora enoki fried mushrooms with a dipping sauce. These were unusual, almost like fries and again, a nice change from our normal selections. The pad Thai with paprika rice noodles, chicken, bean sprouts, cilantro, peanuts, egg and lime was good but more sour than we like. It did not incorporate the sweet / tangy/ salty combination we look forward to. Our final dish was the pangang curry with chicken, green beans, Thai basil, coconut milk and jasmine rice. The sauce was a bit runny and not as rich and uncious as I wanted. The green beans were a nice touch along with lychee fruit. Blue Orchid Thai Kitchen is a lovely decorated and relaxing environment. The staff is quite knowledgeable and helpful. The appetizers were spot on, unique, different and tasty. Our entrees were just ok, lacking a bit of the rich flavor I expect from traditional Thai staples. The evening was still enjoyable and other than the drive, the food was good. A small tweak of the sauces on the entrees, I feel, will only enhance a great set up. Reading all the reviews made me excited to finally try it. I think I went wrong by getting it togo. We did the pork belly skewers, chicken lettuce wraps, khao mun gai, and dry street noodles w pork. Woman was interested in the lemongrass ranch so I got a side. The place is beautiful inside as so many noted. We went later in the evening, only two tables sat. Woman wanted to order a nonalcoholic drink but was told the bar was shut down. She asked for hot sauce and got all kinds to try, appreciated the variety. When we got home I saw everything was labeled, which I love. I tried a piece of pork belly. One skewer was just overcooked. I didn't realize it until I ate a piece that wasn't. It was night and day. This is something probably better fresh to your table. The sauce with them was too spicy for me so I made a batch of peanut. Theirs was pretty good, just not enough for two. The lettuce wraps were like tacos in a wonton shell, I prefer the old school way with iceberg. Woman loved it, since they were odd numbered I told her to have the second one. The khao mun gai was ok. It kinda grew on me, and got better once I added my peanut sauce and some Erewhon dumpling sauce I had. I also think this would be better in the actual restaurant. The dish I enjoyed and didn't need a lot of help was the street noodz. Loads of pork and it was tasty. The lemongrass ranch was tiny for what it was. Again there's so many places here, it's hard to do a repeat if it doesn't come out of the gate strong. The prices were high for what it was, maybe I could justify them if I ate there. Came to Blue Orchid after seeing a video on TikTok. The first thing I noticed was the restaurant was decorated beautifully. Lots of space for parties of all sizes and didn't feel like we were anywhere near bumping elbows with our neighbors. My friend and I came for a girls night and had the sweetest server, Renee, who made great recommendations and was very attentive. For drinks I ordered the Guava Glow and Thai Passion. Both were tasty, but the Thai Passion stole the show. For food, I ordered the beef jerky to start and the Pad Krapow as my entree. The beef jerky was seasoned well and moist. I opted for the chicken Pad Krapow and it was so flavorful. I also appreciated that James, the manager, took the time to check on us as well during our visit. The location is pretty good - right off the highway and gets the best views of the sunrises and sunsets. The service was great eat - everyone was super kind and always checked up on us. Been here once and ordered online the next time. Big mistake since they got my order wrong when I got home. Called the restaurant and spoke with a manager that wanted me to either go back and they will give me the correct curry order or send him pictures of the wrong item for a refund of that item. I sent 3 pics of wrong curry should be red curry not yellow, wrong protein should be beef not chicken and another pic as a whole. Clearly it wasn't what was described. The chicken and beef quality was unmatched in any thai restaurant I've ever been to. On a scale of 1-5 spiciness we asked for 25 and the 1st dish was not spicy at all. I finally made it to try a new Thai spot on Las Vegas Blvd and Cactus Ave. I usually go to the Rainbow area to have that go-to spot. Now, I am so happy that it's 5 minutes to my house and I've never been disappointed with the quality of the food. There is yellow curry, pad se ew, and chicken skin, vegetable spring rolls, and other must-try dishes! We had Stallone, our server, and he is amazing!! Very friendly staff and food is pretty good. When I first arrived my husband and I sat at the bar. They did not have what I wanted but supposed ran to the liquor store behind them to get it for me. But....asked for sake and the bartender pulled out a large screw topped bottle that he didn't know when it was opened. There were no other sake choices available. I am extremely disappointment regarding a recent pickup order from Blue Orchid. I ordered the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, this was my favorite dish from them, however my experience today changed that. I placed an online order and specifically requested no crispy wonton skins due to a wheat allergy. I also paid an additional $6.00 for an extra side of chicken. While I appreciated the manager calling me to confirm these details and asking if I wanted the extra chicken on the side--to which I said yes--the instructions were not followed. When I arrived home, the extra chicken was not on the side. They did manage to leave the crispy wonton skins off, but that was the only thing that they got right . When I called to clarify, the same manager informed me that the cook had simply added the extra chicken to the top of the wraps instead. This made it impossible for me to verify if I actually received the additional eight ounces I paid for, as the portion size appeared to be the same as a standard $14.00 order. Including a $10 tip mind you for to go pickup order, I paid close to $30.00 for a simple meal (ground chicken and lettuce). That's it that's all, and on top of that it did not meet my requests or expectations. It is disappointing to say the least to receive a confirmation call only to have the specific instructions ignored. If a customer ask for something to be placed on the side, it should not be at the discretion of the cook or anybody else in the restaurant to determine whether or not the request will be honored. Especially with something so mindless as putting chicken on the side. What I asked for was not rocket science. Given this experience and the lack of value for the price, I will not back!!!! read more

BLUE ORCHID is the newest Thai restaurant in the Silverado Ranch/West Henderson area. First impression: ohh la la! Perfect setting for a date night or ladies night out. But, really, for anyone who wants to experience an elevated Thai dining experience, in a quiet part of town, where you don't have to fret about parking, you must visit! After a night of bowling at nearby Southpoint Casino, we drove a few minutes south to Blue Orchid since closing time was not until 10pm. We were greeted and then seated immediately in a booth, which was situated in a cozy alcove. The beautiful Buddha accents and hues of blue & green throughout the dining room provided a very calming dining experience! We decided on the Tableside Tom Kha with shrimp, Pad See Ew with Chicken, and Fried Rice with Crab. The plating and presentation of each dish was thoughtfully arranged. The Tableside Tom Kha was a first for me! They used a siphon to heat up the soup, then carefully poured it into the bowl full of fresh shrimp. Everything was flavorful! They didn't ask for the level of spice we desired, but provided a condiment rack to spice it up to our liking. Between the hostess, busser, food runner, and server, wonderful service was provided throughout the night. Expect to pay a bit higher than average. We were too stuffed to indulge in their popular "Breaking Bread" or "Pandan Brownie" desserts, so we will have to save that for our next visit! read more

This was my first time here. It's a nice spot, simple, but cute. The décor features plastic plants, lighting and an assortment of Thailand's traditional Khon masks, which give it a charming and cultural touch. We ordered the hot pot wonton soup, which was absolutely delicious, flavorful and comforting. Next, we tried the crab salad special. It looked amazing, but unfortunately, it was extremely spicy, so much so that it was practically inedible. We barely touched it, and while we hoped it might be taken off the bill, it was fully charged, which was disappointing. For dessert, we had a complimentary treat for my birthday: vanilla ice cream topped with banana chips and ube jam. The dessert was the highlight of the meal, I was especially impressed with the rich, purple ube jam. Although I'm quite disappointed about having to pay for a dish I couldn't eat, I'm willing to return. Their small plates look very interesting, and I'd love to try more of the menu. Chose this spot for Valentines Day with a resy. Immediately seated upon check in but they could use some rearranging with tables. We sat directly (tables connected type way) next to a party of 4 with a half wall divider that stopped about stomach height. Not a fan of having no separation (gap) between another table. Tried the signature Blue Orchid cocktail and it was delicious 10/10. The kind of drink that will get you in trouble because you can barely taste the liquor. For appetizers we tried the Waterfall Beef and Short Rib Crispy Buns. Both were good but don't have to reorder. Not a huge fan of onions and the beef was overloaded with them. Sauces were tasty on both meats, the Waterfall Beef you could cut with a fork and the "crispy" bun was really good. For entrees we tried the Pad See Ew and Kalbi Bangkok style short ribs. The short ribs are cut up into pieces, and the sauce was yummy. Pad see ew was perfect and would definitely order again. For dessert we tried the popular "Breaking Bread." The waiter did tell us it would be awhile and asked if we were ok waiting. I timed it and it took 20 minutes. This is the kind of info that should be provided upon arrival when discussing the specials and making recommendations etc. The dessert was very good but I can't say it was worth an additional 20 minute wait. Service wasn't bad but also nothing to rave about. Had to flag down the waiter for refills and to go boxes.Overall we'll be back to try more. Prices felt reasonable, for 2 people, 2 apps, 1 cocktail, 2 entrees and dessert bill was around $110. read more

Wow! Just wow! This place was more than what I expected. On the outside, it looks like an average kind of restaurant. However, step inside and you are in a wonderful, cultural, and classy spot. The colors, the feel, the lighting, and even the tiles in the bathroom all appealed to me immediately. We took my brother here for his birthday. Luckily, we came during happy hour, which is M-F 3:00-6:00pm and that turned out to be a plus! I think we tried every happy hour appetizer. We ordered Pad See Ew, panang shrimp, pineapple fried rice and a few other things. The service was quick and our water was always full!
