Papaya Salad and Drunken Stir-Fried Noodle (Pad Kee Mow) with beef
    John S.

Nice small Thai food restaurant in Las Vegas. Friendly service. Food is good - the papaya salad was fresh and tasty (not sugary). The drunken noodles with beef was a bit different from what I am used to but it was ok.I would definitely return when in the area to try different entrees.

First off the customer service is fantastic! The gentleman was very nice and made sure our water cups were always full. We had the lunch shrimp pad thai, ground beef thai basil and papaya salad. Everything was fresh and tasted great. Next time I will order the dishes hotter because they start out as mild but there are hot sauces and crushed peppers on the table to make it hotter. Definitely will be back to try the higher levels. As you can see from the pictures the portions are very generous.

I decided to try a different Thai spot on the way home from a play at UNLV. I found Praya on Yelp. It was great for me--easy off/on the 215. I let Apple's Car Play lead me to the restaurant near the corner of Sunset and Decatur. It's in a mall strip mall behind a service station. There was only one table with people eating when I arrived. It's quite a small place with just 8 (I think) tables--most 4 tops but some 2 tops. I sat in the corner and was brought their menu. I ordered a Thai iced coffee and pad kea mow with chicken, otherwise known as drunken noodles. I enjoyed the iced coffee while I waited. It was a short wait. Promptly, the server brought the noodles. This was a first for me. I generally get a curry when I'm at a Thai restaurant, but I decided to go with a noodle dish this time and I have seen drunken noodles on menus and wondered what it was like. You get a choice of meat which may give a different price for the dish. The restaurant has a lot of salmon dishes. I was not asked and I failed to ask if they had a hotness scale. I would imagine I got the gringo spice level. There was a small bit of tang, but had I asked, it would have been a higher amount. I really enjoyesd this meal. A new treat with noodles--something to try at my neighborhood spot especially for take out. For dessert, I had F.B.I.--fried banana with coconut ice cream. The banana pieces were small fried battered gems. What the acronym is, I couldn't say. It was drizzled with a very small amount of honey and was a quite delightful end to the meal. I'm glad I found this place. Thanks Yelp once again!

This is a cute restaurant in a gas station parking lot, definitely a blink and miss it place. Which if you did, you'd absolutely be missing out. Inside is a small dining area, with many orders being takeout. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted and seated. Our waiter was very kind and attentive the entire visit. We didn't see lunch specials, so we just assumed that they didn't offer any. However, while pondering the menu we were brought side salads with a delicious Thai dressing. We placed our order and after a few minutes received an egg roll as well while we waited. Both the egg roll and salad were flavorful and a welcome surprise. Our entrees arrived steaming hot and full of flavor. We both ordered our go-to dishes, which we benchmark Thai restaurants against. Pad Prik Khing for me and Pad See Eew for my fiance. We agreed these were one of the best versions we've had in Vegas, and we've tried a lot of Thai restaurants here. Both dishes were packed with flavor and had the perfect amount of spice. We made sure to tell our waiter to pay compliments to the chef. My fiance enjoyed his so much that when he found himself on that side of town again the next day, he went back for lunch again! This is absolutely a spot to add to your list of must try Thai food in Vegas!

Everything tasted as good as it looks. Old setting. Small parking lot shared with a gas station and smaller shops. Inexpensive with dish items are under $13-$14 each. Good menu selections. Crispy, fresh, and very good. This small and casual family style Thai restaurant won't disappoint. It has its own colors and vibes. Customers do order takeouts here. Excellent customer service. The young man serving our table was attentive, organized, well trained, and friendly. 5/5 for his politeness and doing a great job. They absolutely deserve maximum tipping amount here if you get the same guy. Tom Yum soup with shrimp was excellent in flavors and taste. Not too spicy, but a bit sweeter than most places. Pineapple curry chicken with side rice was excellent. Pineapple chunks were generous and chicken meat was soft and tender with lots of curry sauce in it. Beef entree with beans and bell peppers wasn't too salty either and the beef was tender/easy to swallow. Dinner was absolutely worth it here. Lunch prices are much cheaper, but I really have a good feeling about this place now. Foods tasted great! We ordered the jackfruit with sticky rice for takeout. Smaller portion, but very good too. Server packed it neatly for us. In California, you can expect to pay over $18-$22 for good Thai entrees. This Las Vegas spot is delicious indeed. As soon as we sat down inside, server brought us water and fresh fruits: watermelon & orange slices (when was the last time a server ever brought fruits for you as starters at a Thai restaurant?). Good service. We were just browsing the menu selections. That made us felt even more welcomed and relaxed dining inside. We will be revisiting in future. Fully satisfied today. We enjoyed tipping them too. Worth it.

I loved eating here! Food was delicious, service was prompt, and the inside was so cute. A great lunch spot!

Came here since I was in the area and drawn by the good reviews and slightly cheaper menu. I like getting crying tiger steaks from thai restaurants to get my delicious protein in but it was very disappointing from Praya Thai. It was more like beef stir fry pieces, so the meat was tough and was definitely not really a steak. I did like that they give you a small complimentary fruit plate when you sit down, with some oranges and a slice of watermelon, a nice appetizer. But overall, I probably won't be back.

The gentleman working here single-handedly changed our entire experience. We hadn't visited in ages due to the slow service, but things have definitely improved! The food is still very reasonably priced, the quality remains great, and the service is now consistently top-notch. We're really happy to be back and to see how much this establishment has leveled up.

Amazing take out food. Great service. Portions are huge and the food was ready very quick. They have the best price in town too ! Definitely reccomend!!

Everything we ordered was delicious. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and nicely prepared. We will definitely come back. Highly recommended!!

(4/5) First time trying Praya Thai Restaurant, and overall it was a great experience! I ordered through delivery, and everything arrived fresh and nicely packed. The Pad Thai with Pork was delicious -- the noodles were perfectly soft and chewy, though just a tad too sweet for my taste. The Pad See Ew with Pork had good flavor, but it was a bit heavy on the dark soy sauce, which made it slightly bitter. My favorite dish was the Green Papaya Salad -- fresh, crunchy, and perfectly balanced with sweet, sour, and salty flavors. I'll definitely order from this place again and try some other dishes next time!

We usually order the spicy basil fried rice. This time it wasn't as spicy as last but it's still good. My wife and I like our food spicy. Decided to try their lad na as well. I felt like there wasn't enough noodles. Literally a small rice bowl of noodles BUT had a lot of protein and Chinese broccoli to compensate for it. Maybe that's how the dish was intended to be? Flavor was on point. I would order it again. Overall, the food is always great here. I'll try to remember to ask for extra spicy next time

Emmie was our server. She was impeccable with her friendliness and amazing service. Her attention and care throughout our dining was top-notch. Thank you Emmie! Despite of the selections, we usually go with our go-tos. We couldn't ask for a better meal. Everything was delish with a few exceptions. 1. Panang Curry lunch special that comes with soup, salad, wonton, and rice - taste and flavor were just okay, but portions were quite adequate 2. Baa Mee Hang - amazingly tasty, but portions were small 3. Papaya Salad with shrimp - wonderfully put together with fresh quality ingredients, tasted great with mild spice made just right, it comes with 4 huge shrimps, wished it came with 6 huge shrimps 4. Pad Thai with chicken - one of the best dishes! SO GOOD!! 5. Pad Woon Sen with chicken - I originally asked for seafood, but got chicken instead which was fine. Glass noodles became mushy towards the end. They need to use a different brand of glass noodles that's a bit firmer. 7. Stuffed Chicken Wings - surprisingly good, love the crispiness of the skin, seasoning was quite flavorful, came with 2 wings, 3 wings would have been better 8. Thai Iced Tea - PERFECT! Must get every time. 9. Thai Iced Coffee - good, not too sweet 10. Coconut Cream Ice Cream - a must get delectable dessert to end our meal, SO YUMMY! Each dish averaged about $20+ or so. Bill came and it was a whopping $140+ before tip. After tip, it was $170.00 out the door. Yes, big delicious meals come with a price! It's always well worth it. Highly recommend Weera Thai!

Consistently delicious, well-executed Thai food combined with a relaxed neighborhood-bar vibe makes it pretty irresistible. Wonderful aromas, even better flavors. I also love that Le Thai has separate lunch and dinner menus, plus a happy hour with some genuinely good values. I moved here from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where back in the day we had a stellar Thai restaurant called Bangkok Orchid. Off-menu, they served a dish the chef called "Waterfall Beef": marinated grilled steak with sticky rice and an intensely spicy dipping sauce made with fish sauce, Thai chilies, lime juice, and a touch of tamarind or brown sugar. Lo and behold, Le Thai has an appetizer called Waterfall Beef. It's very similar. The sauce here is a little less fiery, but that's easily remedied with some extra heat from Le Thai's spice tray. For me, it's a little taste of nostalgia and one of my favorite things on the menu. A few other favorites: Larb - Ground chicken or pork with cilantro, red and green onion, lime juice, and Thai chili, served with green leaves for wrapping. $14 Papaya Salad (Som Tum) - Fresh shredded green papaya tossed with Thai chili, garlic, carrot, tomato, and lime, topped with toasted peanuts and served with sticky rice. $13 Three Color Curry - Le Thai's blend of red, yellow, and green curry with vegetables. $16/18 And if you're in a hurry, grab a seat at the bar. You can order from the full menu--and have yourself a delicious cucumber gin cocktail while you're at it. Great food, great value, and about as far from the pretense of the Strip as you can get. I've been back again and again for a reason. Don't just try one dish--work your way through the menu.

This place does a great job on Thai curry. I know many reviews will say "the curry was good"…read morewithout any details, but let me give you the details. -They seem to use actual whole spices in the curries, you'll see flecks of coriander and lemongrass and such. I suspect they make their own curry paste. -The curry flavors are REALLY well balanced. Someone or some people with very good cooking sense are making their recipes and cooking. -Massaman curry is hard to get right, but theirs has the perfect mix of umami, tangy, sweet, salty. -Yellow curry can often be really bland and just like sweet coconut milk at other restaurants, but the yellow curry at Panna Thai is intense and chock-full of spices (you can see the spice pieces in it, probably coriander and other things) and it's one of their best curries, really excellent balanced and flavorful taste -They take care to prepare the vegetables well, and the pumpkin in the pumpkin curry has the perfect texture, the eggplant is very soft and melt-in-your mouth, I've never had bad vegetables in their curries -The coconut milk is very rich and thick and the curries are thick (not just like water) -Each curry tastes like what it's supposed to taste like and they all taste very different. I think the best taste is in the yellow curry, Massaman curry, red curry, and pumpkin curry. The curries are not oily, no layer of oil or little drops of oil, and don't seem to have seed oils in them (we asked and were told the curries are a good dish if you want to avoid seed oils) -The curries are consistently good and I've had them maybe 15x between dine-in, trying my husband's food, and delivery -- been great every time -The curry fillings are good -- chicken is tender, they include lots of vegetables, the pumpkin in the pumpkin curry is melt-in-your-mouth -They add the things that are supposed to be included in authentic curry (like Thai basil for the red curries, fish sauce, etc.) -They are accommodating to allergies and dietary preferences -They'll actually make the curry spicy if you request it, I have a high spice need/tolerance and this is one of the only places that will make it taste spicy to a level where I can feel it if I ask for their highest spice level -The jasmine rice is the best of anywhere I've eaten in Vegas -- so fresh, so bouncy/springy, high-quality rice grains, clearly handled well and rinsed prior to cooking, cooked perfectly every time I've had it. It's a big part of the experience of curry to have bouncy, high-quality jasmine rice to contrast with he creaminess of the curry, and this place does a great job with it. -The portions are large and I almost always take some home, delivery portions are pretty large, too There are only 3 Thai places in Vegas that I can say that about, and this is the only one in SW Vegas that I've found to be like this. the service is also great and you actually feel like a guest there. they have little extra touches like real candles. they do a great job with refilling water, lemon in your water, mints by the door, lots of extra touches. above-par Thai restaurant, please support them! and try the curries! I think most people would enjoy their yellow, Massaman, and pumpkin curries.
