Jerk Chicken Wings & Rice n Peas

The jerk wings were absolutely delicious and so saucy and flavorful, I still think about them! The peas and rice were also amazing, easily some of the best I've had. Sitting by the water made the whole experience even better, and the staff was super kind and accommodating. The food did take a little while to come out, but honestly everything was so good it was worth the wait. Overall an amazing experience and would definitely recommend!

Right on the beach. Beautiful view. Thin crust pizzas really good! The lentil vegan burger was delicious too. Prices are not too steep like the other ones in the area. Service was spot on. Goombay Smash was meh. But I guess you get what you pay for! Overall, great lunch option on the beach.

Came here for the views! We got here around 5:30pm on a Saturday at the end of April and got seated right away. The menu is a mix of American, Bahamian, and Japanese (they have sushi). We got BBQ ribs with Bahamian style peas & rice and coconut shrimp. The food was okay - nothing super outstanding but it's the views! Just a note that the Bahamian style peas & rice is on the chewy side (harder compared to Asian rice) but the seasoning is pretty interesting! The view is absolutely stunning! There's a back door where you can walk down to the beach - and there's a hidden hammock down there as well! It's right across the street from Sandyport resort hotel! Or if you are staying at Sandyport resort hotel, take the back exit of the hotel to go directly to the back entrance of the restaurant to save you some walking!

We were in the Bahamas for a volunteer work assignment and after the assignment my wife and I wanted to enjoy some time together. We decided to try Blue Sail and we were very excited to try it primarily because of the location with great ocean views and ambiance but also hopeful the quality of the food would meet a high standard. We were seated in a nice spot right on the deck with a great view and the weather was beautiful that evening too. But the service was not exceptional, actually average. It seemed to be that way at many of the places we visited on the island, so we weren't surprised by that. However the food was somewhat disappointing. We ordered 2 appetizers, the Mediterranean plate which was very good and the grouper tacos, also good. My wife ordered the Mahi Mahi with lentils, the lentils were dry and overcooked and just not seasoned well. I ordered the Mahi Mahi burger with fries and a side of cole slaw. The sandwich was decent and the tarter sauce was nothing special. The French fries were from a bag and similar to fries that one would get at a bar. I had asked for ketchup for those fries and was expecting a small dish with ketchup in it, however, I was given 3 packets of fast food style ketchup....I'm like, WHAT!?!?! What a joke, we dropped $120 on our dinner and walked away saying to ourselves that we wouldn't ever go back to that place. It's a great place for views but we didn't find the food very memorable.

We came for dinner with a group of 11. The location is indeed scenic overlooking the water, they take reservations and they worked with us on several changes as we added additional members to our group. We had a variety of different dishes and the general consensus is that the pizza was the thing to order. They could not do separate checks and they don't take American Express.

Beautiful view while dining if the ocean.

Great food. The Conch Fritters are amazing. The bartender, Shakira, she is fantastic. She is DEFINITELY a master mixologist. Everyone is so friendly. It is such a peaceful spot for having a meal. I also had their pizza. Very skeptical. GREAT GREAT FLAVOR. Thin crust. 10. ABSOLUTELY without a doubt recommend.

Neapolitan is definitely my favorite style pizza and I was excited to try a new spot. We started with some bottled and canned beers while enjoying their nice patio. It was a good space with good music. We were all pretty hungry and decided to start with some wings. They were tender and juicy, but a bit flabby and not crispy. They might be wood fired? This wasn't clarified on the menu. We wanted to try the white meatball ricotta pizza but it wasn't available, a quick shift was made to the hot honey sausage and a plain cheese Sicilian. The hot honey sausage pizza was soaked with grease, hard to pick up, basically wet. There was a thick layer of grease under the pizza as well. I found the topping combination to be much too sweet for me, and the pizza was topped far too heavily for how thin the dough was. The best part was the crust. This wasn't what I expected from a wood fired - Italian inspired pizza. It was normal, heavy, Americanized pizza. The Sicilian was better, but still very heavily topped with a thick layer of sauce and cheese. I like how browned the cheese was, the undercarriage was lightly browned. The crust was flavorful here as well. The Sicilian was the lighter choice and better executed, to my surprise. To note, nothing was mentioned to the staff since this is what we were served, we trust the kitchen is putting out food they would be proud of and is served as they would like it to be served. I'm sure they were popular with the local folks, but it's not worth going out of your way to try. I wouldn't return, especially based on the unprofessional manner of the owners responses on feedback.

We shared the arancini, homemade meatballs and the 5 formaggi pizza. The arancini was a great appetizer. The was a rice ball filled with mozzarella and had a nice crisp breading. It was served with their Rosa sauce. The meatballs were good and had well balanced tomato sauce served with it and pipped whipped ricotta. The wood fired pizza is something you have to get there. Definitely one of the best wood fired pizzas I've had. It had a nice thin crisp crust and a pillowy crust end. The flavor of the cheeses and garlic was a good combination. And that ranking is well deserved. You get a strong familial feel walking into DeFazio's. If you're lucky enough to meet the Boss himself (he will actually be wearing a shirt that says "Boss"), he will give you a history lesson on the pizzeria, his family, and the state of pizz-ology Nationwide. He proudly proclaims that he is still The Sauce Guy around these parts because he has to keep up the quality control. There's something special about eating at a restaurant where the owner cares that much about the product, and they want you to as well. I encourage you to take the plunge and order the General Tso's pizza. It sounds insane, I know. But if you grew up eating this stuff, it will take you back to a time where you were traversing a mall food court and eating free samples (funny enough, that was the inspiration for this pizza). A lot of chicken-based pizzas will have red sauce as a base, but this is actually replaced with the Tso's special blend which has a beautiful sweet-heat to it. If you're coming here for the first time, it's nice to also balance a pizza like that out with a classic. Maybe a cheese or something similar. That way you can try out the red sauce and cheese in its purest form. I had the pleasure of walking through a cheese packing session that was going on in the restaurant, so I got to see that raw mozz up close, maybe 20 pounds of it. At that moment, I felt as though I was approaching enlightenment. When fully melted on that 'za, this cheese has the ideal mix of density and squish. DeFazio's has a special place in my heart. Your time here will make you feel like you are in a pizza sitcom. And you will leave with a feeling that you may have just had some of the best pizza of your life.

I haven't been to this original location on 4th St. in Troy for a few years. The family operation is nearly 100 years old. Remarkably, it's very much as I remember it. A tiny place with three tables. Some of the seating looks like repurposed church pews. The youthful staff, friendly as always. They were running into some delays as orders came pouring in just before dinnertime. They'd have to check to see if they could fit our order for a big pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, onions and peppers. They squeezed us in! Since the wait would be between 20-30 minutes we kept ourselves busy by checking out the desserts in the self serve refrigerator. I picked out a slice of "hangover" (alcohol) cake and I devoured it before our meal arrived. It was so delicious and naughty fun to eat our dessert before the meal. The pizza was fantastic when it arrived. I prefer crisp crusts-- this one was not-- but it was awesome just the same. My friend and I were so hungry that we consumed half of the pie before I realized that we hadn't photographed our delicious pizza. The remaining half was boxed and taken home to be enjoyed for a couple more days. The staff was so ready. They came to our table with the box and we settled up our bill. A lot to be said for tradition and quality. I've also visited DeFazio's in Albany, but I have yet to visit the relatively new restaurant up the block. Thanks, DeFazio's, for another great meal.
