We finished by sharing the peanut dessert, which was the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal. The service was just as memorable as the food. From the gentleman who welcomed us at the bar to our outstanding waiter, every interaction was warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. Chantell and her entire team made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. We enjoyed a delicious rosé, had the pleasure of meeting Luigi, the sommelier, whose recommendations were outstanding, and were also honored to meet the Chef de Cuisine, whose passion and talent were evident in every bite. Now, every since RC decided to update the entire island, the experience has not only gotten better - it is absolutely out of this world. CocoCay is a picture-perfect island paradise, and is in fact often labeled 'the best private island in the business.' Once you go there for yourself, you will see why. First of all, the island itself is gorgeous. When you imagine a natural tropical island in your mind, CocoCay fits that exact description. RC did well to preserve the island's true beauty while also offering several modern accommodations. There are a few paid experiences that you can certainly spring for, but the included amenities are plenty to keep you happy. The island is built like a pinwheel - all the experiences brand out of the center of the island, which happens to be the entrance (or exit, depending on how you're walking) of the port. You can certainly walk around the perimeter of the island, but there is a tram service that makes it very convenient. CocoCay includes several beaches (both swimming and non-swimming), snack huts, a buffet, and a straw market for all your island needs. If you want to pay for the exclusive CocoBeach Club, you certainly can - but honestly, I felt like it was unnecessary. The included food is some of the best you will get out of your entire trip. Also, there can only be two ships in port at a time, so there are plenty of chairs available. RC docks very early in CocoCay - probably around 8am - and most people want to get off right away. My suggest to you is to have a slow morning and let everyone get off - by lunch time, people will be back on the ship to eat. I've been there twice in the last year, and when we got there around 11:30, there were still plenty of chairs available at Chill Beach. You have to be back on the shop by 5, and since it's there private island, they keep track of who checked in and who checked out. (But don't push your luck - respect the time of departure and get on the ship by 5!) This is definitely the highlight of RC's Caribbean / Island cruise. My only wish is that we get to spend more than a day here!

I had the opportunity to watch while the Wonder docked right across from us, from our balcony. With each ship (both in the top 10 of largest cruise ships in the world, both handling ) docked, the island had to handle over 10,000 cruise guests at the same time, and the island seemed more crowded than for previous visits. There are towels stations located throughout the island where you can borrow towels against your room. The wifi that you are used to on the boat, also work on the island, with a handy map to get you around. There are paved paths, but a lot of dirt roads as well. I still haven't been able to make use of the shuttle transportation yet...it looks like you have to checkin, providing a bit more rigor. Will be back to the island later this year, so will need to try that next time.
