I love Blue Sky! We love coming here for celebrations and also when we have a hankering for Chinese food. Last night we had an impromptu get together, we were a party of 7 and they were able to sit us promptly even with no reservations, thank you Blue Sky for your hospitality! Our go to is the sizzling rice soup, walnut prawns, BBQ pork fried rice, house chow mein and Mongolian beef. Tender beef, crisp veggies and large shrimp, my favorite!The serving size is plentiful and we usually have leftovers. Last night we didn't. We ate everything! Since we were a large group,we ordered a couple more dishes than we usually do and discovered a few more new favorites! I liked the crispness and flavor on the Szechuan chicken. Hubby skipped it because there was a mild kick to it. I also liked the salt and pepper pork chop, it was fried to perfection and wasn't chewy or hard. We had kids in our group so we wanted to order them dishes to their liking. We went with the garlic chicken, sweet and sour chicken (instead of pork), and vegetable chow mein. It was basic and not my favorite, I'd rather skip it next time when there are so many other tasty options. The dining area is clean and roomy with several booths and tables with comfortable seating. It's usually a quiet setting, with cozy vibes. We love sitting at the round table with the lazy Susan so we can easily share all of our dishes. Usually when we do make reservations, we request this table. The service is always very friendly and attentive. I do have to comment that takeout versus eating there is akin to night and day. We are so happy to find Blue Sky Chinese restaurant in Campbell. The food is classic Chinese, both Cantonese and Mandarin. The menu is so extensive! It was difficult to decide (but we'll be back many times). This time we had the House Special Chow Mein, Prawns w/mixed vegetables, and Chili Chicken. I love all the veggies they put in their dishes: water chestnuts, snow peas, bok choy, broccoli, etc. The garlic sauce with the prawns was just the right level to highlight all the flavors. The chicken had just the right "kick" of spiciness. The chow mein noodles had the right chewiness and were delicious! The dining room is lovely and comfortable with retro burgundy booths. The service was welcoming and warm. I didn't know if they served decent wine, so we brought our own, but they did have Clos du Bois Chardonnay, which goes great with Cantonese food! I liked the hospitality of this place! I was immediately greeted and helped when I walked in. I came during lunch on a weekday, so it was a bit dead, but he gave me a glass of water, encouraged me to sit at the booth while waiting, didn't rush, and greeted me out as well. We eat here at least once a month. The tangerine chicken is borderline addictive. The quality of the food is always the same, and we've tried a good percentage of the menu. We got a lot of things from here via door dash. We got there veggie spring rolls, pork fried rice, chicken chow mein, tangerine chicken, and sweet-and-sour pork. The veggie spring rolls were very nice and crunchy with a good amount of filling. The pork fried rice used this sweet dark soy sauce as its base and that was great flavor. The char sieu that they used for the rice was very flavorful as well. I usually don't order chow mein but this time it was very moist with a good coating of sauce that gave a very pleasant mouth feel. They velveted the chicken to make it very tender as well. Personally, I would not get there tangerine chicken or there sweet-and-sour pork again because it is pretty dry. But really they're chow mein and fried rice were phenomenal read more

I frequently order won ton soup from Blue Sky. The broth is flavorful and I love the won tons. I've tried the won ton soup at lots of other places in and around San Jose, and Blue Sky is the best. I also enjoy the potstickers and BBQ pork bun. The potstickers are thick and tasty. They are a nice compliment to the soup. This is an average Chinese restaurant. Please read on for more details. We have ordered broccoli chicken, chili chicken and steamed rice. The broccoli chicken is kind of bland with abundance of broccoli and carrots alongside chicken. The chicken seems a bit slimy, but maybe because of the sauce it's cooked in. The chili chicken is very subpar. I have been to many Bay Area authentic Chinese restaurants. The chicken in chili chicken should be crispy, not soft. It also comes with plenty of red chilies, jalapenos (don't know why, as Chinese dishes don't have jalapeños) and scallions. Overall it's an average experience. The ambience of the restaurant is pretty nice. Very clean and the staff are nice. It was very crowded when we went there and it was around 8:30 pm. We tried their lunch menu on the weekend. The food was so yummy! The owner was nice and chatted with us while we waited for out food to go. We had the sweet and sour pork combo and the shrimp combo. I was excited to try this place out since I was craving Chinese food and read great reviews on the food delivery app I ordered this through. Boy was I disappointed. I ordered the combo #S which includes: Won ton soup, fried prawns, sweet & sour pork or chicken, chicken chow mein or almond chicken, BBQ pork fried rice. I opted for the sweet and sour pork and chicken chow mein. I know Chinese food is somewhat greasy and saucy and salty but I felt like this meal felt a bit extra on the saltiness and grease. The fried prawns also had so much breading that when I took a bite I barely tasted the prawn which seemed so overcooked. Prawns are supposed to be plump with flavor. These were shriveled up. The wonton soup was plain. I'm used to vegetables and maybe pieces of pork in the soup from other places but this was just plain and was ok. The Chicken Wings turn out to be the Best Chicken Wings I ever had in awhile. Not too salty ( tiny salt). It was perfect. Light coating of flour. So very crispy & yummy on outside and juicy on inside. I wish we could order double but then we'd be paying 13.95 twice. But the Wings were really that good. They had a light sweet and very good sweet sour sauce on the side which was tangy. For 3 people the Pork dish plus Seafood Noodle plus Beef dish turn out to be alot of food for 84 dollars after tax ( 77 before tax?) My Dad could not see the paper so he had me fill in the tip for him. I only tip 16 percent because of the lack of seafood & pricey ness. I guess we should tip 18 percent but there was no tea?? They gave us Hot water. Maybe they meant to give us tea later but only refill with Hot water. The water was really Hot the second time so I probably should have tipped 18 percent because a good restaurant gives really Hot water and they did. Just no tea this time? read more

I didn't want to write a review from the first visit, but now after three visits, it's time. The first visit we went for dinner and we ordered the combination of five items for two people. The appetizers with the soup were hot and fresh but the next two main dishes were old and probably re-heated from the freezer. The owner came from our table (no eye contact) and very fast said "everything is good right?" and he disappeared without any desire to listen our opinion.     The second visit we went early and we ordered the lunch special. The quantity of the food was big but soon we realized that nothing was fresh, it was at least from the previous night. That means they prepare specific dishes in advance and if they don't sell them they serve them the next day.  The third time we went for dinner and we ordered appetizers and scallops with vegetables. Again the appetizers  were fresh and tasty and the main dish with scallops $28.00 was a few days old and the scallops were dark brown, again re-heated from the freezer.  When the waitress came from our table (always with mask) asked us, if we enjoyed the food. I told her that the scallops were horrible and she shrugged and left.   In my way out, I said to the owner behind the counter that I thought the scallops had a white color, and he said that the sauce made them brown.   Recently I found out that Santa Clara Country had temporarily closed down the restaurant due to unacceptable food safety practices! Besides the overpriced horrible food, you realize that this place is a dump from the 70's and the customers look like homeless and to top it off, they act like they don't care if you come back or not. Let's see how long it's gonna last this place. I give them two stars because for the appetizers, otherwise it would be zero. If you want to avoid similar experience please choose some other place.
