So delicious and such a wonderful warm inviting place to enjoy friends, family and company at. The service here is always top notch! My 98 year old mom loves this place so much! Figuring how many different Chinese Restaurants she has been to over her life she says this one is the very BEST! (Please see picture below) We have been coming here for years and have always had very delicious food. Ming and her husband take such pride in their restaurant that it shows in their delicious food and wonderful service! Great place!

I shared a lunch special black bean fish filet with my son. It's $20.50 before tax and includes a cup of soup, salad, your choice or fried rice or chow mein , and an entree. It was a good portion of food! Even though I shared with my toddler, I still ended up with leftovers! Everything was pretty good and to my surprise I especially loved the salad! It was so refreshing and had bits of chicken in it too. The chow mein also wasn't super greasy which I appreciate. Service was friendly and quick.

Dinner for 4 adults. The food was fresh and tasty. Our service was very quick. We had egg rolls, the Chinese Broccoli & Shrimp Special, Shrimp Fried Rice, Cashew Chicken and Mango Beef, the latter of which was my favorite--very tender beef, nice ripe mango. I might have been more adventurous had I been with different dining companions, but all the food was good. For me, the prices seemed a bit high for the portions--we had nothing to take home! Egg rolls were excellent but small. We were not offered chop sticks (none of us are Asian) but I'm sure they would had been provided if we asked. Although we were served the traditional fortune cookies at the end of the meal, we were surprised not to have been given a pot of tea with our meal--how much would that have cost, 25¢ maybe? I don't understand people saying this is a "hole in the wall." It's in a nice location and it's a typical Chinese restaurant with very nice traditional decor and a variety of seating options. It's a BISTRO, not Fung Lum.

If you're looking for a genuine, delicious, local Chinese restaurant, this is the place! They have a great vegetarian selection of dishes. We had the hot and sour soup, veggie fried rice and Szechuan prawns. The service is fast and personable. We will be back often!

Just yards off the main drag in toney Los Gatos you'll find this delightful small restaurant serving up big flavours and a big menu of traditional homey Chinese comfort cuisine. Quality of the food and execution of the dishes at Taba Taba Bistro are top notch. Hot and sour soup was excellent, extremely well balanced in flavour, full of bamboo and tofu and all the brilliant ingredients and seasonings this soup should always have. I could eat a double size bowl, it was that good. Egg fried rice, packed with equal amounts of egg and veggies as it was rice, was very good. Snapper fillets in black bean sauce lunch special comes with a serving of rice, either white or brown. Fish was cooked perfectly, sauce was fragrant and savoury, as I thoroughly enjoy the fermented black bean base, which complements perfectly vegetables and fish. Plenty of onion pieces and large chunks of bell peppers, mostly green but a few red ones too. Service is relatively friendly, not the typical grumpy vibe you encounter in similar restaurants deep in the downtowns of large metropolises. They comp'd Yelp pal Steve a bowl of soup, owner said "on the house". All in all, Taba Taba China Bistro is a solid spot for delectable Chinese food any time of day and any day of the week.

Came here for their lunch specials yesterday. We had been to their old Campbell location many years…read moreago and liked their noodles a lot. The restaurant was very spacious inside. While they were quite busy at lunch, it didn't feel crowded at all. Service was efficient and friendly. Their complementary kimchi was more sweet than spicy. Tea was nice and hot. The hot and sour soup was very flavorful and not spicy. The egg roll was crispy on the outside. I enjoyed my chicken with cashew nut and chow mein, which was fresh and delicious. Portion was very generous, and I had some leftover to take home. My husband didn't care for his sweet and sour chicken, though. I tried a small piece, and thought it was all right. We also got fortune cookies with our check.

I'm torn between giving two or three stars because my meal was 2 stars (at best), but the dish my…read morewife ordered looked just fine and service was very good. But rather than give extra credit for a meal I didn't eat, I'm going to just rate based on what I ordered and had. Let's start with the good (because there were good aspects here): service was friendly, especially from the lady who came in to check on us and brought us the check. She put the leftovers in the take out container (versus just leaving the container), very warm and friendly - chatting with guests and being very inviting. The tea and kim chee were complementary. My wife's cashew chicken with chow mein looked good with chunks of chicken, fresh veggies, chow mein. So there definitely are good dishes here, mine just wasn't one of them. Now we move on to the bad: the sweet and sour chicken was mostly fried batter. It's a matter of how big the chicken chunks are to start with and how thick the batter is. If you don't want to serve much actual chicken, you make the chicken bits really small, the batter really thick, deep fry it up, then into the sauce. For some people, maybe they're good with sweet and sour batter with small bits of chicken deep within the batter, but that's not what I would ever hope for, because it's quite unhealthy to be eating primarily deep fried batter (versus protein) and I feel like that's not a honest main dish for $18. I'm being blunt on this because it's correctable and I think if we're all being honest about the situation, you just wouldn't do this if you were committed to making a great sweet and sour chicken dish. Unless your guests complained about too much chicken and too little batter, but that doesn't seem likely. Make the chicken pieces similar sized to the non-battered chicken dishes (actual chunks of meat, whether it's light or dark meat), the batter less thick and bready, and then you have a good quality deep fried chicken dish whether it's sweet and sour, orange chicken, or whatever - they're all pretty similar with the sauce differentiating them. That would make all the difference between disappointment and satisfaction, and chicken/pork are pretty inexpensive meats, so actually having your dish contain some chunks of meat isn't going to be a budget breaker. As far as other elements of the dish, the sweet and sour sauce was of the overly sweet and fluorescent red variety, but that's within the real of typical for Americanized Chinese restaurants, so I don't fault them for this type of sauce even if it's not my preference. The veggies in the sauce were bell pepper, close to raw onions, pineapple - all seemed fresh, crisp, good balance. The fried rice was of the healthier variety, but at all dark (so minimal soy sauce it any), and bits of egg and carrots and peas inside. Again, not my favorite, but well within the realm of typical, and as I mentioned, a healthier version than what sometimes can be a too heavily seasoned or oily fried rice. So it was fine. Egg roll was okay. Crisp on the outside (good), a little soggy on the inside (not as good), veggie so just mostly cabbage inside. The place was decorated typically for this type of place - no issues there. So I realize my review is a bit of an outlier, and it has everything to do with what I ordered and their version of that dish. Had I ordered the cashew chicken and chow mein, this would probably be a 4 star review. But it's best to be honest and review what you actually had. If it results in an improvement of the dish I had, that would be a positive outcome.

The drunken noodles and fried rice are always packed with flavor, and the fresh spring rolls are such a refreshing starter. The mall is located across the street from Lunardi's grocery store. There were complimentary dishes of edamame and a cold bean soup dessert that were "help yourself ". I would definitely come here again with my mom for another meal. Service throughout the lunch was friendly, attentive and pleasant. Individually served were a bowl of hot and sour soup although steaming hot but too thick with corn starch and overly sweet without the right balance of flavor . Chicken salad was just ok, primarily lettuce with sliced chicken fingers. The vegetarian egg roll was fresh and crispy, best of the three. The main dishes were Honey walnut prawns, black pepper fish fillets, sweet sour pork, house Basil beef, braised tofu and Kung Pao chicken. Every dish was well cooked with distinct flavor and fresh ingredients. A large bowl of steamed rice was also perfectly cooked and generous served. Our favorite were the tofu and the basil beef.
