Very okay food. I ordered a dinner special and enjoyed 2/3 parts of it. The egg drop soup and crab rangoon were good! But the general tso chicken was just okay. It was breaded and sauce was far too sweet with not enough spice. In fact, I checked my order to make sure I was eating the correct meal. We did take-out late on a Sunday (? or was it Saturday?) night near to closing, so we didn't want to sit around in the restaurant while everyone is trying to go home. I got a Spring Roll, and my companion got some meat something or other. There is a full on vegetarian selection, but I wasn't super hungry. The lady behind the counter asked us to take a seat, and grab some candy from the little candy dish they have by the register. Cool, no worries. We're here for a bit while they cook the food. We were chatting for a bit, while the food was cooking, and saw a couple more people drop by for food. Looks like this is the sort of place that gets regulars, because the lady knew the next guy's order before he opened his mouth. It was adorable. We got our food like maybe 10 minutes (at the most, it was probably less) later, and it was piping hot. We went back to our hotel to eat it. Absolutely zero issues with the quality of the food. It was exactly what it said it'll be. Awesome. My one and only complaint is that the food is expensive compared to what we're used to paying in NYC/NJ. Aside from that, no issues. When I order from a restaurant, I rather expect that I will get what I ordered. Not true with Blue Sky. I ordered Mongolian Chicken, which is chicken, lightly tossed in corn starch, and pan-fried until crispy. It is then tossed with scallions in a sauce made with soy sauce, Hosin sauce, garlic, ginger, and sometime sriracha sauce or red chilies, which coats the chicken. What I got appeared to be their Chicken With Mixed Vegetables, steamed or boiled chicken (not crispy), no scallions in a thin, watery brown sauce with carrots, green peppers, onions, and pea pods. Not even remotely close to Mongolian Chicken. Fortunately, GrubHub refunded the full price of the delivery. read more

I'm from southern NH, so the prices directly in Portland are a bit higher than what I'm used to. This is not the case at Blue Sky! The food arrived on time by their in-house delivery driver and they accept cash payment when it's delivered ($2.99 fee)! You can even order online with them and select cash payment. On to the food... it was absolutely delicious and well made. The pork lo mein had a very generous amount of meat that was tender. The pork fried rice was filled with lovely hunks of meat as well. The spring roll was crispy and full of lovely seasoned vegetables. Chicken teriyaki was thick and tender and perfectly marinated. There was such a large portion of food for this luncheon plate that I had three meals out of it While I'm in Portland this is going to be my go-to Chinese restaurant! read more

We just tried this new place yesterday. I/we both really enjoyed the food. The moo shu was my favorite. We also tried chicken pad thai, and Mongolian chicken. It was all great. We also thought the egg roll was the best we've had. There's only two of us so those three main dishes will last us about three days. Cost was about 52.00. Well worth it. The restaurant is clean and nice. The two women who were there were really nice! Very friendly. We will be returning soon. read more

I had hoped for decent food since it was in Portland. I often make my own Chinese food, so maybe pickier than most. Had Hunan chicken. Broccoli was terrible. Chicken was a slab or two very unappealing and minimal sauce. Fried stuff was fine , but pork died rice was inedible. Service ok, fast food ambiance. Best thing is the name. read more

Haven't been since Wing Lee closed. I was getting my car services nearby so I tried the lunch here. Not really impressed. Food was just kind of okay. I was expecting wide noodles in my chow fun but weirdly got thin, linguine/ pad thai size noodles in the dish instead. Service was quick but somehow both brusque and overly friendly at the same time. The "General Tsao" chicken was more like balls of half-fried dough, soaked in some sweet and fruity sauce. The rice, fried rice, was fried alright- in old oil. The rice smelled gross. I'm not really sure what drove me to try the egg roll, but I did. I can only cite my own ignorance at this point. The "egg roll" was juicy, if that makes sense. Juicy in that it was not only full of oil, but whatever low grade meat was used, was certainly greasy. I live my life in regret. Don't be like me. read more

Where is the option for zero stars, because that is what Blue Sky deserves. I placed an order for delivery from them and the food was appalling. I ordered a spicy dish and asked to have it extra hot and when it arrived, it was as bland as can be. Their scallion pancakes were essentially fry bread with a few flecks of scallion tossed in. Total garbage. I ended up tossing the entire meal after a few bites because it was that bad. And to top it all off I had a coupon from them which they said they would honor and then I was charged the full amount. Given the choices available in Portland, avoid Blue Sky at all costs. A frozen pizza would have been immeasurably better than what I received from them. read more

Worst Chinese restaurant in Portland. Food was undercooked, screwed up order twice and refused to make it right, fried rice tasted and looked like it was scraped off another plate and reheated. We all go out for lunch on Fridays at work and we decided on this place. This was the second time we went and the second time they didn't get my order and my order alone. When i called the place to see why my order hadn't shown up with the rest of the food the guy said there was no record of it. If i could give them half a star i would. Very disappointed. read more

We were looking for a new Asian restaurant in our neighborhood. We saw Blue Sky's website. We were impressed with their menu selection. So many things to try. We got house lomein,house fried rice,bbq pork ribs,crab rancoon,chicken chowmein and chicken fingers. WOW.....huge amounts of food and really really tasty. Super impressed. Loved it. Twice we ordered sweet and sour chicken and it came with no sweet and sour sauce. NEVER in my life have I needed to specify that I want the sweet and sour sauce when I order sweet and sour chicken. I ordered lo mein and it came completely without any sort of sauce or seasoning on it. Just a giant container of boiled plain noodles. Pathetic. We've ordered from them 3 times and we are done. Go someplace else, plenty of better places in town. A $54 delivery order and it was worth about $15 and most ended up in the trash. Time for you guys to go. read more

Blue Sky handed out a bunch of flyers with coupons when they first opened and they didn't honor mine because it was delivery which was not specified on the coupon. Also they're sweet and sour shrimp was that awful kind that is like the deep friend nugget that's 80% greasy breading and 20% shrimp. Nuff said. reason for one star is because the delivery driver gave me attitude and was unnecessarily rude to me and expect the driver to complain about the distance they have to drive, they will ask for a tip even if already you tipped them over the phone, the food was cold and wasn't made or tasted right at all completely disgusting, didn't get the right full amount of orange chicken I ordered it wasn't even half full, didn't even taste like it was cooked at all just was warmed up quickly an thrown into a container, I tried something new but never again, so do yourself a favor and save your money and time and go to a restaurant that actually takes the time to cook the food right and give you the amount you paid for like Evergreen, Tin Tins, Red Robin, etc, don't order from Blue Sky unless you need to clean your stomach out quick and fast. read more
