This was an amazing find. It came as a recommendation from a few locals. We were seated on time and they couldn't have been more accommodating to our every need. From the appetizers to dessert the food was delicious. Sam, our waitress was so on top of things. The manager, Pat checked in with us, something over and above that most restaurants don't do. I typed this review up and for some reason, I never posted it. First time there was Saturday 03/30/19, and my brother and I were originally going to go to Coach's Burger Bar in Poland. They were busy so, naturally we waited a while and then were seated. After spending a total about $53 pre-tip at BWT we wish we would have. Our actual server was pleasant, but the server who first introduced herself and said she'd get our drinks was rude and seemed irritated. I tried to ask her a question, but she walked away too quickly and I think she might have pretended not to hear me. For appetizers, we got the fried cheese for $9 and the crab cake for $13.50. I got a blue cheese burger and a beer and my brother got a French dip, about $10 or $11. My burger was good, nothing wrong with it, except it was slightly above lukewarm, but whoever made my brother's French dip skimped on the meat big time and the appetizers were disappointing. The fried cheese is a 1/4" thick, bland circle of provolone... For $9? I could make that at home for $1. The crab cake was all minced together. Didn't seem like quality crab meat. It could've been imitation crab for all I knew. No lumps of crab in it and it didn't taste that great. I Almost had wished we got a 2nd fried cheese, but we'd have to be total idiots to spend $18 on 1/4 lb of provolone and some red sauce. Joe, owner of the Blue Wolf Tavern, does not care even a little bit about his paying customers. I made a deposit of $25 for the party room and brought in over 30 paying guests. Afterwards, my deposit was given back to me in the form of a gift card which was only valid at Blue Wolf Tavern. I had no intention of coming back to Blue Wolf as the food was mediocre and pricey, so I asked to have my deposit back in the form of cash or a refund to my credit card. The manager said that Joe is the only person at Blue Wolf who can perform refunds, so I gave the manager my phone number and she assured me that Joe would call me the next day. I waited 5 days and never heard from him. Therefore, I went back to Blue Wolf to follow up, and the manager said that Joe did not want to speak with me because my wife's name was on the reservation, not mine. The manager asked me to provide my phone number again and said that he would tell Joe to call me later on that night. It has now been 2 days since I spoke to that manager, and Joe has still not even given me his time. It's so sad that Joe, an owner in the customer service business, does not care about his paying customers. read more

Had dinner there a couple times. The burgers are good but not amazing for the cost. Had the steak and ribs dinner the last time. The steak was good but small, there are much better ribs in area, and my baked potatoe was not done. The quality is not equivalent to the cost. read more

I've eaten here on many occasions and have always really enjoyed it. Tonight just wasn't one of those nights. The bruschetta wasn't toasted enough and was soft and doughy. I ordered the gouda crusted chicken breast with risotto. Portions were large and chicken was moist but just too rich with the added cheese sauce on it. I scraped it off and it was still super rich. The risotto was very heavy and overly rich. I couldn't eat it. My water for my hot tea wasn't very hot. The waitress was nice and attentive. My brother in law ordered the prime rib and it was cooked to order but was really fatty. I'm giving it 3 stars today but usually I would give it 4 or 5. Maybe tonight they were just off. read more

Went here for dinner one night and the service was horrible. We got sat and no one even said hello to us for 15 minutes. Mind you this was a Tuesday and there were only two other tables sitting in the dining area. The waitress took care of the table next to us and never once said even a hello nor offered to get drinks. Just felt ignored. We got up to tell the hostess our trouble and she was talking with her friends at a table at the bar. She came up and we told her no one had waited on us or said hello and she said ok while walking away. No attempt to get someone to wait on us and no attempt to rectify the situation. I have my doubts if Alli ever set foot in the Blue Wolf. This resturant is Mobbed nightly with waiting lists quite long. Food is great if not excellent and service although slow at times due to the seating arrangements is still excellent. Resturants in our valley are only as good as the Chef. Blue Wolf is great place with a menu diverse enough to please everyone. A friend told me to order the ribs once last year, and they are my favorite entre now, especially with the amazing Boardwalk Fries (reminds me of Idora Park fries). They also have some nice cocktail choices and a very pleasant staff. Sue was our server the other night for a small group celebration. She balanced being attentive and warm with not be intrusive and hovering. Just a great place to relax and have a meal in the dining room, or a bite at the bar with more of a social vibe. read more

We love the food at Blue Wolf because everything has so much flavor with excellent spicing; until today! I mistakenly ordered a full rack of baby back spare ribs with spicy barbeque sauce. They turned out to be the absolute worst spare ribs I have ever eaten. I suspect that in order to achieve "fall-off-the-bone" tenderness the ribs were boiled in water before putting them under the broiler prior to serving. If so, the ribs were tender alright but completely devoid of ANY flavor. They ended up being just tasteless clumps of fall-off-the-bone matter. The sauce was acceptable but I would have been better off spreading it on the dinner rolls. Sorry, Blue Wolf, we'll be back but I sure as heck won't order the ribs. read more

Not sure why this place doesn't have 5 stars as an overall review! I LOVE THIS PLACE. By far one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The environment is so relaxed yet with just enough class to it. Me and my girlfriend were so intigued as soon as we opened the door. We were hungry after Shaker Woods so we searched good local eatins and stumbled upon this treasure. Not nearly as amazing as i expected. First of all, the rolls and GARLIC butter that they give you is TO DIE FOR. My mouth is watering just writing this. We were so indecisive on what to get because everything on the menu sounded so appetizing. My girlfriend got a salmon salad with peaches, almonds, and a maple glaze. so Yum... everything was as fresh as it gets. I, of course, ordered a fish sandwich with fries. I am a foody and have eaten so many fish sandwiches and so many fries from so many places. The fish was battered to perfection and practically melted with each bite. The fries- some of the yummiest i have eaten in my whole life. Not to mention, after complimenting our waitor on how impressed we were, he asked us if we wanted dessert. We had to say no because of how stuffed we were and he joked about it being free, we laughed. We got our bill and payed and as we were about to leave, he handed us TWO boxes of the most delicious cheescake i have ever had. Banana foster. Went to lunch with a friend yesterday for a birthday celebration lunch for which we had one of those buy-one-get-one regular lunch (limited up to $10.99plus18%tip) cards. Yesterday was listed on the card as the last day it could be used. I was told that they would not honor it. I was extremely disappointed with this unbusiness-like attitude in not honoring the card. I have to say this review DOES NOT tarnish my positive opinion of this establishment and my wife loved her selection that evening and the service was very good. However....Ordered the $30 strip steak special. Came out hot. Cooked PERFECTLY med/rare with hint of char. Flavor....meh, Chewy. Unimpressive. Can't blame anyone here but the cow . I know what the talent on the back line can do to a crummy sirloin. This was just a lousy piece of meat. Didn't send it back because I wasn't gonna watch my wife eat for 10min only for her to do the same. We're parents so we are trained to eat quickly. I know. It's not fair to me or the Wolf... Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for such a delicious dining experience. My father-in-law and myself ordered the ribs, my mother-in-law had one of the scallop dishes, and my husband had the shrimp and pepper linguine dish. They were all outstanding. We go out to eat a lot and this summer we drove from Oregon to Ohio and back...and by far the best ribs and probably overall the food, service and atmosphere makes the top five dining experience, easily. we had reservations today for 4:00 pm, arrived at 3:50 pm was told we had to wait for our table, even though there was plenty of seating available. the meal was quite good but the service was about the poorest we have ever received. the waiter had a bit of an attitude and it took 30 minutes from placing our desert order until we got our check. he brought everything we asked for but only after an extended period of time. he asked if we wanted our check before asking us if we cared to have any desert. the overall time from being seated until we were out the door was over 2 hour and 30 minutes. by far too much time ! ! ! we do not feel we shall be returning to the blue wolf tavern any time soon. read more

I have been to the The Blue Wolf Tavern in the past and have always enjoyed it. (it has been a few years since my last visit). Well I didn't enjoy it on my last visit Monday 6/9/14. I ordered the Chicken Parm with red sauce (never get anything else). It was clearly not homemade hand breaded and cooked crisp. It was an obvious frozen chicken patty cooked with a slice of cheese melted on top as if heated up in a microwave and a TON of sauce poured over it (you couldn't even tell what it was). The sauce wasn't good either. Totally lacking in flavor. My daughter ordered the chicken wings. (some reason they don't have regular "bbq" flavor). I specifically asked the waitress if they were "normal" sized (as we were deciding on how many to order) and she stated "yes". Well they came out and they were HUGE wings. Grotesquely huge and again, covered in a ton of sauce. She couldn't eat more than one. Our waitress, although nice, never came back after the food was served to check on anything and we had to sit and wait for the check to come. Will NOT be going back ....... read more
