Since the snow in January, these poor goats just huddle outside their little house because they have NO WHERE to walk to. Someone shoveled a thin path to no where. The problem is the ONE and ONLY less then adequate path is SO thin, the poor goats can't even turn around to return to their goat house. I spoke to the older woman inside the office about one week ago who told me she'd "Let the owner know." I drove by again today, and either my message didn't get to the owner or . . . the owner couldn't care less about these goats. Please take better care of your goats who need and deserve a loving, healthy place to live.

As I entered the office to register I was greeted by Jody who said to me "welcome Hime". That picked up my spirits quite a bit. As I was driving here I thought about my site and how to back in was a hill which I thought could be a bit muddy which it was. As I was guided in by Geoff one of the great crew and an RV tech I got stuck and bogged down in the mud. Things look bleak at that point and we talked about getting a tow truck to move my 45' coach. Suddenly the Calvary arrived and we and they devised a plan to free me up. Oh did I say it was raining quite hard. After two hours using planking and more digging I was freed. Now they decided to put me in a pull through for the night which I did. Now the plan is to wait until the ground dries a bit and go back to the site I love. Bottom line I e traveled all over North America and never had the service I get here and always with a sincere smile. They always seem to know what to do to make the customer feel happy and satisfied. The main difference here I believe is the fact it's a family run facility third generation and it's not the same as being a name and number in a corporate campground. The point I'm making is recommend anyone to stay here at Pinewood Lodge. I'm here and hope to be for time to come. The amenities and activities are wonderful. So I hope this review helps people looking for a campground close to Cape Cod and convenient to travel to Boston would consider them. Happy Camper

On June 29, I called earlier in the day to ask whether our cabin might be available before the 4:00 p.m. check-in time. I was told that early check-in would not be available that day, but that the cabin could possibly be ready around 3:30 p.m., and that we were welcome to arrive early and enjoy the campground amenities while we waited. We arrived around 3:00 p.m. and were told the cabin was not ready and to return at 4:00 p.m. Since we had family staying at the campground, we waited at their cabin. While walking by our assigned cabin, a woman who identified herself as the Head of Housekeeping stopped and asked if everything had been cleaned properly. We explained that we had been told the cabin was not yet ready. She went inside, immediately realized it had not been cleaned, apologized, and assured us it would be cleaned right away. Shortly before 4:00 p.m., we walked back to the cabin and saw that the housekeeping staff had already left. I then went to the office to check in, only to be told that the cabin still had not been cleaned. I explained my earlier conversation with the Head of Housekeeping, and the office staff repeatedly attempted to contact housekeeping over the radio. Eventually, another employee who was already responding to a separate cabin issue was sent to verify the cabin's status. I ultimately waited nearly 45 minutes in the office after the official 4:00 p.m. check-in time before receiving our keys. While I was waiting, I also overheard several other guests experiencing issues during the check-in process. During our stay, the campground Wi-Fi was unreliable and frequently unavailable. We later received an email notifying guests that the Wi-Fi was down and that the camp store would also not be open. While I understand that technical issues can occur, this was another inconvenience that affected our experience. Additionally, one of the amenities that influenced our decision to stay at your campground was the lake, which is advertised on your website as a place where guests can enjoy swimming, fishing, and kayaking. Unfortunately, the condition of the lake did not match the expectations created by your website. It appeared stagnant and uninviting, and we did not feel comfortable swimming or otherwise using an amenity that was prominently advertised as a highlight of the campground. As a result, one of the features we were most looking forward to enjoying during our stay was effectively unavailable to our family. The most significant issue occurred on the evening of July 2. Our cabin became extremely hot and would not cool down despite the air conditioner running continuously, both ceiling fans operating, and two additional fans that we had brought ourselves. The main bedroom and loft were especially unbearable. Our children were visibly sweating, and the temperature inside the cabin was so uncomfortable that it was impossible to sleep. We called twice before maintenance arrived. The maintenance employee immediately commented that the cabin felt "disgusting" due to the heat and discovered that the air conditioning unit had frozen over. He explained that several cabins were experiencing the same issue that day and told us the campground had received a shipment of portable air conditioners and fans to distribute to affected cabins. Unfortunately, by the time he reached us, none remained available. He sincerely apologized and explained there was nothing further he could do other than have us turn the unit off to allow it to thaw. As a result, our children were unable to get to sleep until after midnight, and the main bedroom did not reach a reasonable temperature until approximately 3:00 a.m. We essentially lost an entire night's rest during what should have been the final evening of our vacation. While we understand that isolated issues can happen, the combination of the delayed check-in, poor communication, unreliable Wi-Fi, the unexpected closure of the camp store, amenities that did not match how they were advertised, and most importantly the failure of the air conditioning during extremely warm weather made this stay far below the standard we expected. These were not minor inconveniences--they substantially affected our family's comfort and enjoyment throughout the trip. Emailed several times with no response from anyone at Jellystone. Do not go!!

My husband and I have stayed here for the past three years, and this year has been, without question, the worst experience we've had. We prepaid for a 6-month stay, expecting a quiet, well-managed campground. Instead, we've dealt with inconsistency, poor communication, and management that seems focused on the wrong priorities. Before the campground was even fully open, we came to prepare our camper because there were already other campers on the property. While we were there, a woman repeatedly followed us around and watched us before finally approaching us. Rather than treating us like returning guests who have stayed here for years, we were made to feel like we didn't belong and were questioned as if we were trespassing or trying to live here for free. Ironically, people who don't even pay to stay here regularly park on the property to use the lake without anyone questioning them. Apparently, paying customers receive more scrutiny than people who aren't customers at all. Because of that interaction, we were told we couldn't return for weeks. When we were finally allowed back, our electricity hadn't even been turned on, and we had to wait while no one seemed particularly concerned about getting it working. Then, completely out of the blue, we were told we had a past-due balance that had supposedly existed all along. At no point were we ever notified. No phone call. No email. No letter. No conversation. Yet somehow we were expected to fix a problem we didn't even know existed. Meanwhile, the issues that actually affect paying guests continue to be ignored. On weekends and almost every holiday, large groups takes over the campground with 20+ tents, blasting music well into the night and early morning with absolutely no respect for the people who actually pay to stay here. They spread out wherever they want, take over common areas, and even park in front of occupied campsites to the point that we've had trouble getting into our own site. Even worse, people were plugging into our electrical service without permission, causing our camper to repeatedly short circuit. We eventually had to install a lock on our own electrical box because management did nothing to stop it after it was brought to their attention. That's what makes this so frustrating. Management seems incredibly quick to police long-term residents over minor issues, yet has no problem looking the other way while other people take over the campground, block campsites, disturb everyone around them, use utilities they aren't paying for, damage property, and ignore every basic campground rule. The former management understood that people who spend thousands of dollars to stay here deserve a safe, enjoyable, and well-managed campground. Rules were enforced. Problems were addressed. Paying guests mattered. Now it feels like the people causing the problems face no consequences, while the people paying to be here are the ones expected to tolerate them. I also wouldn't recommend this campground for families. The "playground" looks like it hasn't been properly maintained in a very long time and honestly looks like it could earn a child a tetanus shot instead of a fun afternoon. The basketball hoop has been broken, and the laundry area is tucked behind some of the dirtiest bathrooms on the property, surrounded by overgrown grass. None of it reflects the kind of campground this used to be. It's disappointing because this campground had so much potential and used to be a place we genuinely enjoyed returning to every year. Unfortunately, poor management and a complete lack of consistency have changed that. If you are looking for a campground, there are way better options in the surrounding area with better amenities and better people.

It's a clean, simple campground with RV hookups at many sites and some welcome extra amenities, such as the bounce pit and family programming. This is a family-run business, and we've always found the staff to be pleasant and professional. The few times we've had to cancel last-minute, we found them to be more accommodating than expected or even warranted. There was one occasion when they didn't have a charged battery available for our rented electric golf cart; they lent us one of their gas-powered carts and waived the rental fee for that first day, turning a very minor inconvenience into an overall pleasant and welcome memory. We regularly recommend Sandy Pond to friends and family and have brought many here, as well, including some first-time campers.

We recently stayed at Myles Standish State Forest on site J26 in the Barretts Pond loop, and…read moreunfortunately, it wasn't quite what we expected. The site itself is situated at the top of a steep hill, which is not ideal if you have a car that sits low to the ground, our vehicle bottomed out trying to park, making it basically unusable for us in that spot. To make matters worse, the path to the site doubles as an access point to another campsite. So even if you could manage to park there, chances are high that your neighbors will end up parking in that same pathway, making it extremely difficult--if not impossible--for you to get to your site conveniently. It definitely felt like the layout of this area wasn't thought through for ease of access. The bathrooms in this loop left a lot to be desired. During our stay, they were extremely dirty and, at one point, there were a few hours without water or electricity. That said, there were a few positives. The small swimming pond in this section of the campground was actually quite charming. It's private to those staying at the loop, which makes it feel peaceful and far less crowded compared to other parts of the forest that have public access. It was nice to be able to relax there without the usual campground chaos. Overall, the serenity of the area was nice, but the site setup, parking issues, and bathroom conditions really took away from the experience. If you're considering this loop, especially site J26, I'd recommend looking into alternative spots within the forest that might be easier to access and are better maintained. I've been coming here for years and have had many experiences both good and bad. Check-in can take awhile, and lines can get long which is brutal in the heat, then your met with some people at the counters with attitudes that leave more to be desired. I'm sure there are better places to camp, but it is a staple.

The camping sites are deep in the forest, in fact it's bout 5 miles from the entrance to camping sites. Roads are paved and my own problem is having to constantly contend with bicyclists. (Read up on MA state law regarding bicyclists -- they have more right of way than I thought they did!) Be cautious of Masac. I saw the signs and didn't know what it was until I stumbled across the building one day. Yes, there is a prison facility in these woods!! Maybe that's why they have state park rangers at each camping "gate", and I fully appreciate that!
