We can with a huge party and reserved a week in advance... so don't do that reserve the day before... we walked in and the WHOLE restaurant was packed... we saw our reservation on the board and we were even 5 minutes early. I stepped out annoyed and she quickly went outside about 10 minutes later to say we were all set. YES shock and awe!!! To preface my brother and his family go there a few times a month. I'm pretty sure they were totally embarrassed about the whole situation. I guess the others that were there were also somewhat regulars or maybe not. But they had shifted everyone's tables so they were all communal and our table of 18 was prepared! The food is decent and a basic menu that many novice would be ok with trying. I ordered my food online to go which was super easy! I had been craving sushi so badly but unfortunately I ordered the cold maki roll which sounded so good! Unfortunately, the description didn't say this but it was a roll wrapped in cucumber without any rice and I was very disappointed because when you think maki, that usually means rice. In addition, it was around $14 for the dish and they only gave 6 super thin pieces. I was still hungry after that, as it my dinner, and those 6 little pieces didn't cut it. With the new price increases it's a terrible value, rice is always off and dry fish. I've been to hundreds of sushi places and this never tastes great. Location is pretty, good area but raising prices on already tiny maki rolls is ridiculous. The fancier rolls are now $17 plus and barely any fish in them. I've been to high end downtown Chicago and other big cities japaneses sushi places and had melt in your mouth rolls for $15 or less. The portion size is awful and the taste is bland on everything. Finally found a decent, Sushi place! There are several places about but we've just not been happy with them until we came across E Sushi Odessa. Nice atmosphere, good service and very fresh sushi. The menu has a nice assortment of sushi to select from along with some hibachi style dishes. For our first visit we just ordered sushi. Craving sushi, I decided to eat here for the first time. Plenty of parking was available around the restaurant. Inside was clean and bright, and they seemed to be doing a good Friday afternoon lunch business. I sat at the sushi bar, and the Sushi Chef Eddie was very friendly. I went with their sushi and sashimi lunch. The server brought my water, soup and salad right out. The soup was not my favorite, being not just bland, but odd tasting too. The salad was fine, although it was basically just lettuce with too much dressing. The sushi platter was okay, with a pretty presentation, although compared to my normal place, the pieces were fewer and smaller. Plus, the tuna tasted a bit fishy, which was unfortunate. It's too bad that the platter is only available with a California Roll. The Sushi Chef did give me an additional treat - I have no idea what it was, but it was good. I used all of Thanksgiving week to go crazy and eat whatever I wanted with no restriction to give myself a break from trying to eat pretty healthy. This was my final meal before shutting it back down and returning to fat burning mode. We enjoyed it overall, but this is what 4-star reviews were made for. The meal was nice, but nothing overwhelmed us. The Sweet Mango roll was just okay. I ordered it because it was a bit unique, but there's probably a reason mangos and fish don't mix. It wasn't weird or anything, but the flavors didn't exactly bring out the best in each other. The Volcano Roll was messy but tasty. And the Lobster General Roll was enjoyable, but just a warning for those who don't like this sort of thing, the seaweed taste was a bit stronger in this one. My wife ordered chicken teriyaki, which was fine. It came with a *ton* of chicken - I don't think she even ate half, despite me helping. The fried rice was the best part. Next time I'm craving sushi, I'll probably opt for one of my favorite places nearby, but I'm happy for the people who live nearby in an area where good local restaurants are hard to come by. read more

I met a friend here for lunch and they have great lunch specials! Each lunch comes with a soup and a salad. I had sushi and my friend had teriyaki chicken and rice. I can honestly say we were both stuffed when we left! The sushi for the lunch special is a more simple roll but it was delicious. They have a wide variety of "fancy" sushi rolls too, just not part of the lunch special. There is inside and outside seating. We sat outside because it was still cool enough to do so. They also have a big awning so it is not in direct sun. The server was very attentive and friendly. One thing to know if you are using an ap to find it, the location is off. E-sushi is in the building in front of Publix. Your app will send you past the turn and you will probably have to make a u-turn to come back. It is a little far from my work, but I would definitely come here again. I may also look at getting takeout. read more

E-sushi opened nearby recently so we wanted to try it out. We placed a pickup order for lunch on a weekday. We ordered 4 special rolls: King of the Mountain, Lucky Dragon, Lobster General, and E sushi roll. When we arrived, they told us they didn't have lobster salad for the lobster roll, so they substituted crab salad. That's fine, but they still charged me 17.95 for the lobster roll. You would think that making a substitution would at least lower the price, so that was a bit disappointing. The King of the Mountain and Lobster general rolls were really dry. I try to avoid using soy sauce because it's salty and sometimes overpowers the fresh sushi, but I needed it for those two rolls. The rice was sticking to my mouth. The E sushi roll was my favorite of the four, it had a hint of sweetness, and the avocado kept this roll more moist. Lucky Dragon was also good, again moist from the avocado. We've tried sushi all over throughout the years and in the process have become sushi snobs. So I don't think we will be back; the portions are small and it's not my favorite sushi in the area. We don't order sushi often, so when we do, I want it to be better than average. read more

I also ordered the chicken teriyaki which was decent but I would not order again. It's definitely different from a typical teriyaki chicken order as it had lots of onion which I don't mind but it was odd. This came with fried rice but it was so bland. I'd give it a 3/5. This time we decided to try the lunch special, I ordered the sashimi lunch special with hot green tea and my Hubs ordered the hibachi steak lunch special, both come with a nice refreshing salad and I think the dressing was a carrot & ginger base regardless, it's just delicious. Both items were under $15 and no appetizers and surprisingly very filling. I enjoy the sashimi lunch special, the pieces were buttery, fresh and delicious. Also enjoyed the beets (noodle garnishes). The Hubs started in on his dish before I could take a picture. The veggies were perfectly grilled, nicely seasoned and crispy. The steak was good and so tender. I wish there were half star ratings on Yelp, we're really torn between 3 and 4 stars for this place. TLDR; Good sushi, good cleanliness, average prices, average/mediocre hibachi, absolutely mediocre service, Umami is still the best in the area. My husband and I love sushi and are careful about covid, we decided to check this restaurant out because it's brand new and went during an off-hour in our first weekend eating at sit-down since February. There were a decent amount of pros and cons. I don't know that we'll be back, but we didn't dislike it. The prices are on the lower end of average which was nice. We ordered a chicken hibachi to split, kids hibachi, rainbow roll, mango roll, something that started with a t and had seaweed salad in it, and had the usuals that come with those things like salad and soup. The total for all of that was around $58, so not bad at all. Portion sizes for hibachi were generous, more-so than some places nearby. Our toddler and infant old were easily able to split the kids hibachi and only dig into ours a tiny bit. We easily split the adult portion. The rolls fell apart at times, but they did just open so we believe maybe they have some people in training so we're giving grace there. The hibachi was a little on the high-sodium side but the sushi was delicious and fresh tasting. Where they lose stars for us is service. There were only 3 sat-tables in the whole place. Us (2 adults, 2 kids), 1 male "regular" alone, and another family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids). There were at least 4 servers or people capable of managing tables. Our server and all of the others spent most of the time chatting with the single male at the table. She came back to us twice realizing she forgot things or waters were empty, apologizing that shes "busy catching up with (her) regular". The regular in question spent time asking teenage girls their ages and then a bunch of personal information, then tried to engage other tables' kids. That raised massive red flags with us but somehow not with any of the adult staff somehow. I hope management considers some sort of training on how much sharing becomes unsafe, my husband and I were genuinely concerned with his motives. That (nature of conversation) isn't the restaurant's fault and wasn't a determining factor in our star rating, but I'm putting it here in case the business reads it because I care about those employees safety. read more

Very nice interior Ordered 6 sushi rolls that were not impressive The owner was pretty rude in the sense that she had people waiting and was moving tables around. One table had to stop eating and get up so she could move the table through to accommodate a large party. She also came by the table and grabbed up menus and the pen without even asking if we were done ordering. She just swooped in grabbed the menus and went to the front. She was very unprofessional in my opinion which is part of the reason for a low rating. If you want regular sushi this is a good spot. It's fairly overpriced but decent for what it is.
