The experience of eating inside the restaurant was positive overall--I found the space to be very clean. The service was efficient; we placed our order and paid at the counter, and our food was brought to our table. The self-serve drink option was also convenient. Here are some pros and cons of the meal. On the positive side, the price was great for the amount of food provided; the portions were generous. The rice and yum yum sauce were delicious. However, I was disappointed with the protein. Both the steak and chicken were very overcooked and had a strange taste, which made them difficult to chew. The veggies, on the other hand, were a bit firm, but I didn't mind that since I like my vegetables with a bit of crunch. Overall, the biggest downside was the hibachi protein. If the steak and chicken had been cooked properly and tasted better, I would have rated the experience much higher. Ordered three orders of the Chicken Teriyaki to go, and the whole experience was awful. The chicken in all the orders was completely burnt--dry, bitter, and nowhere near the teriyaki flavor I was expecting. My youngest brother introduced me to this place, and after finding out he was going here daily when he was in Wesley chapel for a few weeks, I had to check it out. My husband and I decided to try this place out since it costs a fraction of our local hibachi spot. The food was okay. I had the steak and salmon dinner and hubs had the steak and chicken. The steak was very chewy in both of our dinners. He wasn't crazy about the chicken and my salmon was very dry. The rice was good and the veggies were excellent. The side salad was just like what you would get at a regular hibachi restaurant. Even though we weren't over the moon about the food, we wouldn't write the place off. So I've been to five Hibachi Express restaurants in the area and this one in particular three times. Hibachi chicken or teriyaki chicken, the food does not come out hot. The other hibachi express restaurants always explain that one chicken dish is dark meat and the other is white meat. For some reason, this restaurant only does white meat which is cooked ahead of time and then reheated on the hibachi grill, which is just a griddle, add the sauce. Food should be cooked to a minimum of 140° when served. The Asian girl/woman who works the counter understood but looked at me blankly when I asked her to please request the cooks to heat the food all the way through and I would like it to be Hot even if it was a little burnt. No reaction. The cubed chicken in the dish is EXTRA firm, and the vegetables are a notch above al dente, very crunchy. I have tried the sushi twice and found it to be unremarkable. The place is convenient to where I currently reside, but I think I will refrain from dining there again. The Hibachi Express restaurant I have enjoyed the most is in New Port Ritchey. On the other hand, the China Wok restaurant right next-door to the Village Market Drive location, always serves flavorful piping hot food on each occasion that I've eaten there. I've eaten there at least a dozen times it is consistently freshly cooked , not reheated AND HOT. Spring rolls and egg rolls are commercial and not made there so I avoid them. read more

I was completely turned off and more like disgusted by one employer in particular that did not wash her hands after taking out the trash. She then proceeded to wipe down the soda machine area with a dirty, wet rag and then used that same rag to wipe down tables for the next guest. This same girl was also working the front bagging area which means those unsanitary hands are touch customers orders. That is absolutely unacceptable, and without a doubt a great way to spread germs among other nasty things from touching the trash can and trash. She was also touching her/fixing her hair while bagging customers orders. She was pulling her hair downwards from her visor hat- that is gross, not as nasty and appalling as touching trash without washing hands, but still very unsanitary. If you are working in the food industry or any other industry for that matter, please be considerate of your customers. Wash your hands frequently, don't touch your face, head, body etc. upon serving customers their food. After this incident it completely ruined my appetite, I was way too grossed out to eat or touch my food. When I finally got my appetite back, the food itself was delicious. In fact, it was amazing. Very fresh, and full of flavor. Please please try to use clean towels to wipe your tables down, and tell your employees to wash their hands frequently. I WISH I READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE GOING HERE! STAY AWAY! On 7/23 I visited Hibachi Express in Wesley Chapel. I ordered a Hibachi combo for dinner to go. When I got home, half of my order was missing. I called the young girl Renata working behind the counter. I explained that they had forgotten some of the food I ordered. Renata became irate, telling me that she had been working since 10 am and was tired. If I didn't get my food order it was tough on me because I should have double checked before leaving. Upon requesting a manager, Renata hung up on me. I called back and she was even more rude saying your not getting your food and that she has the right to refuse service and then hung up again. This is horrible customer service. I warn everyone to find somewhere else for your Hibachi food needs. Customer service like this should never be rewarded. They have lost my business especially when I was actually looking for a restaurant to cater a 50th birthday party. Thank you Renata for helping me to look elsewhere for my catering needs. Hopefully a manager/supervisor reviews this. Many people are looking for jobs. You can find a much better person to represent your business as the front person who answers your phones and greets your customers. Pleasantly surprised! Ate here for the first time last week. My niece and I went to try something new after receiving their menu with coupons in the mail. She doesn't eat seafood but we saw that they had some rolls with chicken so decided to be adventurous. I also only eat sushi with soy paper instead of seaweed wrap and they had that here. I am by no means a sushi connoisseur, but I like tuna sushi. I got the Crazy Tuna roll with soy paper and it was delicious!!! My non-seafood eating niece tried a bite and actually asked for a 2nd one!! She got the Chicken Tempura roll. It was dynamite!!!!! Their chicken tempura was excellent. After our first round, we enjoyed it so much that we ordered 2 other rolls to try. I got the regular Tuna roll and she ordered the American Roll. Both were good, but I think next time we will just get the Crazy Tuna and Chicken Tempura rolls again. Also had the pork gyoza and spring rolls as an appetizer. Both yummy. So I've been here a couple of times. It's way up in BFE Wesley Chapel. 28 miles from my house. It's located in a strip mall. It's nothing that would stand out and appearance wise nothing you'd drive 28 miles to eat. But I did. It was good. I love Japanese Hibachi. I prefer when they do it at my table and fling the knives around. This is not that kind of place. This is a hibachi "express". So you order the food at the counter and they call you when it's done. It was also mostly white simo no seasoning was added. The veggies were just zucchini and itbwasnover cooked. I had to completely remake the meal my self adding all the missing ingredients and seasoning. I called to complain. I generally visit this location once a week for lunch while I am working locally. Service is always quick and friendly, I usually call in my orders and they are always ready on time. The food is packaged nicely and the staff always reminds me not to forget my condiments and utensils. The food is okay, it's not the best sushi/hibachi I've ever had, but it's not the worst either.
