I called Blue Pearl because I noticed my lab girl slowing down and I wanted to give her an option that wasn't the vet (because she always got stressed there and I wanted to give her a better experience). Blue Pearl came to my house and were so sweet and loving to her and came up with NOT a hospice plan but a long-term plan to balance meds/quality of life/ improvement where possible journey. They were also phenomenal in walking me through the plan and answering any questions. The vet had pointed out some concerns with her pain level and knee and asked me to get it xray-ed asap. Turns out it was bone cancer and it had spread everywhere. I contacted my primary vet at Blue Pearl and they gave me options for her and listened to my concerns...not to mention they were incredibly sympathetic to my dilemma of coming to terms of what was best for my girl in helping her not suffer. I had to let her go shortly after and they came and spent time with her and me and gave her treats and made sure she was happy and relieved. They called and checked in on me after and would chat about what an impression she made even if they short time they knew her. I can't recommend Blue Pearl enough - I would do this 1000x over because they were caring, thorough, available, and gave Leeloo the best care in the short time ahead had left. I wanted to thank all the staff but especially the sweet vet that helped us send our precious Annie across the Bridge with calm kindness, affection and empathy. She did not rush, explaining everything in detail; proceeding only when we were ready. By matching our energy, and ensuring Annie was comfortable and relaxed she made an unbearable situation almost beautiful. I especially needed reassurance that it was time to let Annie go and she was so incredibly supportive of my doubts and reluctance that although I am shattered, I feel comfortable with that ultimate decision. We found this facility completely by chance, and to make a long review a little bit shorter, I'll start by saying that I would (and will) recommend this place to everyone who will listen! Pet lovers, this is the team you want handling your fur babies! My sweet boy, Chief, was my first dog, and my heart dog. When the lymphoma became too much, I came to the decision that we would need to get him out of pain as quickly as we could. My fiancé and I spent hours calling around to see who could come and do an in-home euthanasia ASAP. We landed with Senior Paws / Blue Pearl Pet Hospice, as they were able to make it out the next day, and after business hours. The two women who traveled out to my mothers house arrived on time, they were polite and patient, and had a calm, caring energy about them. My dog was immediately comfortable and relaxed around these sweet techs. We had invited all of Chief's favorite people to gather and honor the end of his life, so we had a small crowd with us. All of us were instantly in tears, and these beautiful, amazing women cried alongside us. They sat on the floor with us as we held Chief's paw and guided him on his final journey. I never imagined having two strangers share that type of love and pain with me. I felt like they loved him as much as I did, and words truly cannot express how much that meant to me and my family. After he had crossed over, they gave me as much time as I needed to say my goodbyes, and they paid attention to the small details like bringing his favorite green ball with him, and wrapping him in his favorite blanket for the trip back to their facility. His memorial items turned out perfectly and it was very apparent that they were made with care. The default wooden urn is absolutely beautiful, sturdy, and high quality. I had planned to buy a custom one, but there ended up being no need for that, because the one we received is so nice. This was such a horrible time for me, but Senior Paws / Blue Pearl Pet Hospice made it better in every way imaginable. I couldn't have dreamed up a better way to honor and say goodbye to my baby. The entire process was easy, stress-free, well-priced, and filled with love. They made saying goodbye easier and I will forever be grateful for that. Chief deserved the absolute best until the very end, and because of this team, he got exactly that. I want to say Thank You to the staff, and especially to the two women who sent my boy over the rainbow bridge. You will always hold a place in my heart because of your compassion and care. read more
