I recently switched my vet to MCH after finding out that my cat was incorrectly vaccinated at their previous vet. I wanted to see a cat expert to learn about the next steps. I am so happy with my decision. Dr. Baibos and her tech are very kind and knowledgeable. My cat, who usually turns into a little monster at the vet, was totally calm. No dogs and no barking really helped my cat feel calm at this cat-only vet. So glad to have a vet I can trust! read more

I picked MCH because I was looking forward to building a solid relationship with an all cat vet that had the capability of performing alterations as well. I mentioned to Dr. Addlemann that Hampton has rapid breathing while sleeping. She suggested that we do an x-ray to see what's in his lungs and also would explain what issues he may have with his heart. She told me that it appeared Hampton had an enlarged heart and we would need to get an ultrasound. However, what she did not mention is that a Cardiologist should perform the ultrasound because if in fact a heart problem, the cardiologist would require the same test, causing me to pay for it twice. After the ultrasound, she told me it appeared he had a hole in his heart. He does not have an enlarged heart nor does he have a hole in heart. She should have never said either of those things to me prematurely without having the radiologist confirm results. He has a mild case of tricuspid regurgitation. I was already feeling pretty uneasy about my vet experience with MCH, but I proceeded to bring my kittens for their alterations as scheduled on 1/20/25. The staff was aware of Hampton's medical history and assured me he could have his neuter as it's a routine procedure and there was nothing in his ultrasound results that would indicate otherwise. When they say you know in your gut, I should have listened to my gut with they initially misdiagnosed his upper respiratory infection. Because then I got the call that the doctor almost lost my sweet kitten on the operating table and did not complete his neuter. What an awful phone call. Turns out, the doctor should have not given Hampton Ketamine knowing his heart condition. Not one single person called to check on Hampton after this horrific event. I have since taken Hampton to Dr. Wu, who confirmed he has a mild case of tricuspid regurgitation, he won't need meds and there was no reason for the neuter fail besides giving him KETAMINE knowing his heart history. If you want all cat vet, The Cat doctor is the best & Westbury Animal hospital for neuter and spay. Both are top notch. read more

This business does not care about any negative reviews as I have had this horrible experience and they have not made any attempt to reach out to inquire about such a negative experience with Dr. Folger. On Saturday, August 3, 2024 I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Dr. Folger, a veterinarian from Memorial Cat Hospital, whose behavior was shockingly unprofessional and rude. From the moment he entered the room, it was clear that he had little regard for both me and my senior cat. Dr. Folger did not introduce himself, which was the first red flag. I asked Teresa the technician what was wrong and her response was that they were so busy and that he was the only doctor on this Saturday. Still not an excuse! His demeanor was not only arrogant but also dismissive, treating my concerns with a smugness that was both unhelpful and offensive. His interactions were marked by a distinct lack of empathy and respect, which is utterly unacceptable in any field, let alone one dedicated to the care of animals. Throughout the appointment, Dr. Folger displayed an alarming level of unprofessionalism. His responses were snarky, and his attitude suggested that he felt my concerns were beneath him. This kind of behavior is not only disappointing but also concerning, as it undermines the trust that pet owners place in their veterinarians. It is crucial that such behavior does not go unchecked. Dr. Folger's conduct is a clear violation of the standards expected in veterinary care, and it is imperative that he be held accountable. For those who have had similar experiences or are contemplating whether to bring their pets to Dr. Folger, I strongly advise considering a report to the Board of Veterinary Medicine to ensure that this unprofessional behavior is addressed. No pet owner should have to endure such a lack of compassion and respect, and I hope that my experience serves as a warning to others. My 17 year old cat started to exhibit symptoms of being ill a few weeks ago. My regular vet couldn't see me for weeks so I started searching for a new vet that specialized in cats. I am so glad that we found Memorial Cat Hospital. Everyone at this facility is wonderful from the vets to the vet techs. They're caring, handle the cats in the least stressful way possible and are up to date on all of the latest medications and available treatments. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to my sweet kitty but they couldn't have been better with that part either--I'm sure it's a hard day for them as well as the patients and I really appreciate their unmatched care and compassion. read more

Being new to owning a cat, I asked with honest curiosity what was the best option available to provide proper flea protection without introducing a poisonous aspect. Have you ever read the back of the bottle for flea products? I wish I hadn't, because ignorance would've been more blissful. Seriously, these flea warnings sound like those fast paced medical disclaimers you see at the end of prescription commercials where you wonder if the cure is worse than the disease. These flea products give specific solutions for what to do if it gets on your skin, clothing, and how you're supposed to basically not touch your pet until the product dries to minimize negative consequences to humans. It as if the pet becomes radioactive for 24 hours. The response I received to my question from Dr. Folgers was snarky, smug, arrogant. He went on to explain nothing was truly safe, that most things just an illusion of safety: medicine to cars to vaccines. The arrogance that was coming off of him is the kind of moment you wish you had caught on camera just so that someone could have it as a mirror to reflect back the attitude they are dishing out onto a person. There's a total lack of self-awareness in Dr. Folger to know just how rude he came across. I felt so frustrated to be on the receiving end of his bad attitude that I informed the receptionist and vowed I wouldn't go back to this provider or this practice. What bothers me further about this business, is that they have this policy where they will charge your card before discussing with you a treatment plan and getting payment consent. I brought my cat in to have sanitary trim and an estimate for a mass removal procedure, and the veterinary added two new appointment fees without discussing it with me. First, they gave my cat medicine. Then they gave my cat vaccines. This added an additional fee to the total of my visit. I had only budgeted a certain amount and then they added these items without talking to me about it. Frankly --they should have talk to me about it before doing it and before charging me for it. It's bad communication. It makes the assumption that the customer is in the economic position to pay for new unauthorized veterinary services. In reading the fine print, they use a disclaimer that they will charge you whatever they deem necessary using the card on file. Surely this is advantageous for the business, but not for the consumer who doesn't get an opportunity to consent to new charges. The vaccines they gave to my cat were duplicate and unnecessary because my cat already had them! Because they didn't talk to me and didn't read the pre-existing medical paperwork, they gave extra vaccines to my cat who didn't need it. Then they send me a postcard in the mail, saying I need to go back for booster vaccine shots. Dr. Folger took the time to write an apology via email. However, apologies without changed behaviors aren't true apologies. There's clearly a pattern of behavior where Dr. Folger is rude to new patients seeking treatment for their cats. It's hard to find the right veterinary practice. This one, despite its glowing reviews, isn't what it's all cracked up to be --given its provider attitude and payment policies. read more

This place has prohibitive costs for medications and care, and the doctors can be really misleading when it comes to diagnosis and treatment. You will learn months later your cat was being treated for something they never discussed with you. They are like cats, they hide things that will show up when you need them to help you with pet insurance. If you have deep pockets, you're going to love this place. But nothing is as fast as they are when they hold your animal inside while they grab your credit card at the door. They have a lot of "pride" for the overpriced service they offer, as if their pride was being paid with their money, not yours. read more

Never really had a good feeling coming here. People love it that's fine, but my own experience has not been the best. I think that they are extraordinarily overpriced. I was chastised because I was difficult to reach through all my own business and work extensive hours. We bought our kitty cat in there and it was too rambunctious. My first (and only) visit to this cat hospital is not a pleasant memory. I was surprised by Dr. Bill Folger's condescending attitude when answering his questions about my cat's spay history. He was certain she wasn't spayed and was confusing her tumor for kittens. I assured him she was sterilized, years ago. Without asking, he promptly flips over my cat --because he still doubts she's not pregnant-- and shaves her belly region right then and there to discover that yes, she has the surgical scar. The experience was highly insulting as well as upsetting to have my beautiful long-haired cat needlessly shaved on her final days. read more

If I could give fewer than 1 star, I would. I took my cat to Memorial Cat Hospital based on the reviews they had received. My visit resulted in my being taken advantage of and being charged an astronomical amount for tests that weren't discussed or approved. I let it go because my cat is very ill and i just wanted him to get better. I came in for a follow up visit only to be met with more suggestions for tests that didn't need to be done, or for testing that I could do myself. When I asked for the prescriptions to be filled elsewhere because of the cost they were charging everything changed, and the only concern was about money. The vet looked up one prescription at Chewy that was $5 and they were wanting to charge me $50, as an example. The testing that I did agree to on my second visit was not even reported back to me. I received no follow up call to give me the results or to check on my cat. Fast forward to my need to have one of the prescriptions refilled that helps my cat eat (anyone who has a cat knows how important it is for them to eat) and I have been waiting days for the refill to be approved. I have called the pharmacy and the vet several times. My last call to the vet ended with the receptionist being very condescending and smart with me and telling me to go to an emergency vet if my cat is in distress (as though it wasn't important to refill his meds unless he was in distress), and that her office manager was not available, despite her office manager telling her what to tell me while I was on the call with her. This place does not care about cats, but only about their profit. And I imagine their profit is substantial so they will continue treating people and animals as they did me and my pet. read more

Dr. Beivos and Dr. Folger treated our cat for constipation. So, we decided to have our cat spayed. Our cat was vaccinated for rabies but needed other vaccines. During the spaying procedure, they did not read the medical notes and they gave her the rabies vaccine again. I specifically indicated to Dr. Beivos that our cat didn't need another rabies vaccine and had a bad reaction when it was applied. We were so upset, that I asked not to speak with Dr. Beivos again. Dr. Folger called, supposedly to apologize, but during the call, he laughed and demonstrated so much insensitivity. So unprofessional, and it appears that in other reviews he has showcased this pattern of behavior before. I suggest taking your cats, especially sick ones to another location. The staff just does not care. I heard years ago, that the clinic offered better service, and now that is long gone. We did see new faces every time we went there; they certainly ran a circus there. Now, we are faced with making a formal complaint with the TX State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. read more

Dr. Folger is the definition of brilliance, empathy, and kindness. I've worked for many veterinarians, including 10 years at the TAMU VET HOSPITAL, and Dr. Folger is the best educator of them all! He knows EXACTLY WHAT TO DO IN AN EMERGENCY and saved my Beautiful Ragdoll CAT's life, when Piper fell off the dock and was swimming for his life for hours in the dark , as I panically called for him. He was limp and soaked, and Dr. Folger brought him back, now he's 20 years old. Dr. Folger educates his patients parents ( us, the owners ) and anyone who thinks that it is arrogant to teach someone truthfully about their pets and life's challenges is just a moron ( see other review), because that person is just too stupid to understand that Dr. Folger was telling her the absolute truth about life. He is a fantastic human being with a soul full of love and forgiveness. Anyone lucky enough to have him as their veterinarian is just blessed! Pets are members of our families and my cat Tiffany has been with me since college. She is 13 now and being a senior kitty means more check-ups. She has had a few weird afflications in the past and before I found Memorial cat hospital I had gone to a few other vets with less than great results. However, Memorial Cat Hospital specializes in Feline health and they are experts in their field. They also have high-tech equipment that can measure kitty's blood-pressure which came in handy when Tiffany's blood pressure shot up to 280. She lost partial vision in one eye but it could have been total loss of vision if she didn't have her wonderful doctors Dr. Folger and Dr. Adelman. read more

MCH is amazing. This is THE place to take your cats. I was recommended here by a friend. I had an older rescue cat that got diagnosed with osteosarcoma. I drove all the way in from Galveston to see Dr Folger and it was worth all 2hours of cat howling, peeing and barfing! I have a diabetic cat that was literally turned away from a "well respected" clinic because he was too complex. I have been bringing my cats to Dr. Folger for 15 years, and I have always had the peace of mind (which is so important) of knowing my kitties are being cared for by the best. He catches things other vets don't. He actually cares about the cats, and will call you to give you updates. He has also been very understanding about my limited budget and is willing to discuss alternative treatment options as well. I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Folger. In his care, my dear cat Murphey lived to be 22 1/2 year old, so by this she also attests to his great care. just now-Edit My daughter took her 13 year old cat Sassy here to discuss end of life options. Dr. Folger told her that Sassy was dehydrated and constipated and needed IV fluids and some enemas. My daughter was given false hope. They asked if they could keep her over night. The next day when we went to pick Sassy up a different Dr. was there to talk to us. She was a very nice lady who wanted to let us know Sassy wasn't doing so well. Once we spoke to her and let her know that we actually brought Sassy to look at end of life options, she seemed relived to let us know that was probably for the best. When we got Sassy back she was unable to stand and was screaming in pain. I couldn't put the cat down then because my daughter was picking up extra shifts at work so she could pay for Sassy's care, and I couldn't do that without my daughter seeing her cat one more time. We scheduled an appointment for Monday morning (they were closed the next day, Sunday). They charged us $611.10 for giving Sassy fluids and enemas. Sassy was in pain and unable to stand. Sassy died that way less then 12 hours later. I wish Dr. Folger would have heard what we were saying, instead of giving false hope and charging us to torture a already dying cat. This felt like a bad mechanic experience, except with a whole lot of emotions attached. I can not express how upset my family is that this is the way Sassy died, instead of easing her pain and suffering, this just added to it. I know they have a lot of great review, but I would give them negative stars if I could. read more

Excellent expertise. We saw Dr. Pittari for a normal yearly checkup for my kitty and was impressed with her bedside manor and attention to detail. Recently my kitty came down with a UTI and we saw Dr. Lowe. She is newer to the practice but absolutely the best veterinarian I've seen. She took time to get to know her history and what her current symptoms were. She explained my treatment options and costs and checked in on her afterwards. I went to pick up medication today and she met me in the lobby and went over everything again. I will be sure to always see her after her dedication and thoroughness throughout our visits treating my cat. We encountered Dr. Folger quickly one morning while getting a urine culture and he was very quick so I'm sure we caught him in a busy moment. I'm sure all the vets here are excellent. We scheduled an appointment for Friday because we figured she was there. I recently moved to the area and was in need of a new vet for my two girls. I had never taken them to a cat only vet, but am so glad I found this place. I have spent countless hours and dollars to try to fix a chronic bowel issue with one of my cats. I went to the same vet for about 4 years with no luck. In 30 minutes and one appointment, Dr. Folger had found a medicine that worked perfectly and has helped relieve a lot of tension and frustration in our house. I son spent $200 with a sick kittie here and got no cure or even a diagnosis. The vet was afraid to touch the cat let alone treat it. I took a cat in to get it fixed and they lost the cat bed from the carrier with no apology or explanation. I told Dr Folger of the two bad experiences my son had had and he just said that he never had prior complaints. He didn't ask about my son's experience and obviously didn't care. Indifference on his part for his customers must be normal. The clerk was rude as well. read more

Dr. Folger and his staff have been taking care of my cats for the past 10 years +. There is nothing concerning cats these people don't know. They are a bit far for me to get to, but every time I made the mistake of taking a sick cat to a neighborhood vet for treatment, I've been sorry because I usually end up at Dr. Folger's door step anyway -- having wasted unnecessary time and money on other veterinarians before. That is, if I was lucky enough that the cats survived the other vets' treatment. From the 1 month old kitten that was mauled by a German Shepherd, to 17 year old kidney patients, they've put back together anything I brought in. That's a WHOLE LOT more than I can say for some animal hospitals who cheerfully accepted my money, then didn't do squat to cure/save the animal. Yes, VCA Pasadena Animal Hospital, I'm talking about you! But you're by far not the only ones. Sorry I have to name names here, but I take my cats (and my time and money) seriously and do not suffer incompetent and uncaring veterinarians gladly. Between the 4 feline specialists who work at the clinic, there is always time for minor and major emergencies. I even had Dr. Folger return one of my high-anxiety calls at 7 a.m., then meet me at the clinic to treat the cat. Dr. Folger also taught us a lot about how to do long-term-care for sick cats at home. The knowledge they have accumulated is far superior to that of other specialists in Houston, like Gulf Coast Veterinary. Their fees are not the lowest, but you get what you pay for. If you love your cat, don't lose time with other veterinarians. Take it straight to Dr. Folger. read more
