Our experience with BluePearl Veterinary Hospital in Duluth was one of the most heartbreaking experiences we've ever had as pet owners. We drove three hours after calling ahead and being told to bring our dog in. She had suddenly lost the use of her hind legs and was crying in pain. The veterinary assistants were compassionate, caring, and treated her with dignity. They deserve our sincere thanks. We waited patiently for over two and a half hours, understanding that emergency hospitals must triage patients. Then a veterinary technician--not a veterinarian--told us they would not be able to see our dog. I pleaded for one thing: if they couldn't treat her, could a veterinarian at least provide enough pain medication to ease her suffering until we could find help elsewhere? The answer was simply no. So we picked up our helpless dog and drove another three hours home while she whimpered and cried in pain the entire way. No family should have to watch an animal they love suffer like that after being told to come in for care. Emergency medicine isn't just about saving lives--it's about relieving suffering. In our case, compassion seemed to end at the front desk. We left feeling abandoned, heartbroken, and utterly disgusted. read more

This was not my first experience with an emergency vet, but one of the nicest. They wait was lengthy, but they did check in with Buddy & I, and made sure he was stable, as other "emergencies" came in, so I was completely fine. In the end I actually got lots of practical advice as well as the needed medical care. All the staff I met were super kind to both me and my pup. read more

I waited about a month before I wrote this review. I wanted to make certain that I had my wits, and words, about me before proceeding. Last month, my husband and I had to make the almost 2-hour journey from Cohasset, MN to Duluth, MN with my 3.5 lb., 13 year old Chorkie, Dixxy as she was very ill and needed help DESPERATELY. Our vet couldn't fit her in as they already had to squeeze in three other "urgent" visits. They suggested that we could take her to Blue Pearl or wait until Saturday (the next day) and take her to Bemidji. Well, we were so worried about her that we decided on taking her that night to Blue Pearl. We called ahead of time to tell them we we coming and what was going on. In order for anyone reading this review...this is what she was experiencing: 1) She would not eat and hadn't eaten for 3 days 2) Lethargy had set in the day before we took her 3) She was now GULPING water like a Camel and then throwing it all up within 2 hours later 4) Her eyes had gone from big and bright to TINY and clouded. We got there right around 5:30 pm on a Friday night. We went in and they took her back to evaluate her and decided she could wait. So we did...for 4 HOURS. At this time, I asked for a MedTech to take her back and check he Glucose level because a tiny dog like her can crash without warning. I also stated I was really worried about her hydration levels. She took her into the back for literally 45 seconds to a minute. Came back out with her and informed me that her Glucose level was 74. She handed her to me and before I could ask her about her hydration, she practically sprinted away from me and was gone! So, we waited 2 more HOURS and finally asked the gal at the front if they will be able to see her because we were looking at not getting home until 2:00 AM as it was and I had a wedding I was to be at (I'm a Photographer) Saturday early afternoon and the wedding was in ND! She then put us into a "waiting room" for another 45 minutes and STILL not seen. We told her we were leaving and how unhappy I was with all this!! We got home and my husband went to bed as he now had put in a 22-hour day. I got Dixxy comfortable in the living room on her little bed on the couch. I was cleaning up the kitchen when I heard her get off the couch. I came around the couch and saw her standing next to one of the dog beds on the floor by the fireplace. Just then, she threw up so violently that it cleared the dog bed (12 inches across and as high on the sides as she is tall) and HIT THE WALL! Needless to say, I was an absolute wreck and I believed I was watching my dog die!! This was now about 5:30 in the morning. I stayed up and called the Bemidji Animal Hospital at 8:00 am and they were able to see her right away. I couldn't go with so I had texted my husband a NOVEL of everything I wanted them to do and at the top of the list was SUBCUTANEOUS FLUIDS. I know from experience that Subcutaneous Fluids take literally 30 seconds to administer and why Blue Pearl did not address that is BEYOND MADDENING! Bemidji was Fantastic! She was soooo dehydrated that not only did she need subcutaneous fluid, but also an IV! They did a scan and an x-ray and they did not show any obstructions. Now here's the BIG Kicker. Her Blood Panel showed 4 abnormalities PLUS her Glucose Level was 41...FORTY ONE! 80 is considered an optimal level. She had lost almost a full pound and weighed 2.7 Lbs! And her eyes were a direct result of EXTREME dehydration!!! SHE WAS IN CRISIS and had we not gotten her care there, we would have lost her. So to RECAP the 1 Star Review...In SIX hours they GLANCED at her 2x and in those 2x they didn't see how dehydrated she was?!? They couldn't take the literally 30 SECONDS to give her subcutaneous fluids to tithe her over until they could give her a thorough exam?? If they had simply done that, it would have prevented the Glucose crash, I KNEW was coming, because she would have ate! It's lazy and just plain horrible veterinary care! read more

Update, just to clarify. I did wait 8 hours and because I love my cat and am a pet parent true to the meaning " parent ". My cat did receive the best care possible. They set him up in a private room and he was safe, comfy, and had access to anything he needed...litterbox etc..the Doc who did see him was fantastic, caring and so understanding. She had had a long night being the only Doc there, not at all any fault of hers. My issue is higher. With Corporate. VCA. Blue Pearl is the best ER Vet Hosp in Duluth and serves as far as Wisconsin and other way out cities. I vented my c/o's a couple days ago, but I couldn't have asked for a better Vet to see my kitty. He got the best care. Isn't that really all we need? That is all I asked for and that is exactly what we got. So thank you Blue Pearl for taking the best care of my most precious little love. These people are rockstars! In Duluth MN, my 3 golden retrievers eat rat poison on a Saturday. I called Blue Pearl and they answered the phone, were smart, kind, concerned, caring, had great questions and helped me figure out a course. I brought my dogs in and they made us a priority. Sitting in the lobby, the women at the front desk were 'on fire,' taking calls, troubleshooting issues, solving problems, identifying a resources, orchestrating a rescue, and conferring with each other and the docs while coordinating the lobby. They were so smart and swift on every issue that came their way. Tireless and calming. Wow. If only every company had people like that. The docs were clear, understandable, loving, straight up, and saved my dogs. This was a Saturday night. They worked tirelessly into the night. I was beside myself at their kindness and commitment. These people make a difference and I trust them. Their intelligent, calm, connected problem solving stood out above other places I'd been. I hope they realize the difference they make. read more

Very long wait for non immediately life threatening issues. Don't bother to wait if your dog will live to tomorrow. My dog woke up lame. Rear legs did not work. Not eating. Suspected Lymes infection. It was Saturday. All vets were closed due to Father's Day. Blue Perl was open. Went there, checked in, they were very specific about the cost and payment up front. Waited for three hours, checked the line--too many before us (by severity), and left. Tried to get in to my normal Vet on Monday. They said they were too busy and recommended another Pet ER place. read more

We had such a wonderful experience at BluePearl Pet Hospital I just had to hop on and share. Even though its over 65 miles away from home, we had a pet emergency and needed to make the drive on a weekend. We arrived early in the morning hours and were greeted by someone at the door who immediately ushered us in. They remembered who we were and brought us into a room almost immediately. Unfortunately, the day did not go the way we had hoped and we had to make the decision to support our fur baby in transitioning far too soon. But despite this horrible situation, if there is anything that could have been done to make it any easier, they did. The Vet was so incredibly empathetic and supportive, the assistants were so respectful and kind throughout. It was such a difficult day, but made so much less distressing to have people support us in the way they did. I will never hesitate to make the drive and/or recommend BluePearl. If your pet is in danger but not foaming at the mouth, good luck with this place. I was referred by my vet to this hospital about getting an emergency refill of a prescription. I was told this did not count as an emergency and my dog would not be seen, despite confirming that not taking his medication could be life threatening. They did not care I that no primary vet was able to see him for weeks, and told me to come in if my dog starts experiencing a "medical emergency", meaning seconds or minutes could mean he dies. Basically, if it would fend off something more life threatening, they couldn't care less. read more

Brought my dog in awhile ago cuz he got his ear shredded by another dog upon pickup they put him on an antibiotic and a pain med. and i specifically asked 4 seperate times if the two new meds would have any interactions with his old ones. They said no all 4 times. A week later bring him to grand ave cuz he was horribly sick throwing up gallons, and of course i brought all the meds with me. Blue pearl never even sent grand ave his records even though they are sister vets! So not only are they incompetent they are lazy. They gave my dog a gi infection because they were more concerned about getting us out of there then taking the time and warning me about the interactions. This place is pathetic all they care about is money. They dont care if they make your dog sick, but yet this place is supposed to heal them. Shame on you and all your staff. I hope you all nothing but the worst. Oh and since yall are replying to reviews if you dont believe my story and want to try to debunk it feel free to look up my dogs records. I brought my blue healer, Shoshone, into the ER in Duluth mn a few weeks ago for severe gastric issues and this wonderful Dr was so personable, caring, and thorough with treating my distressed little dog. She explained her diagnosis very well with an affordable treatment plan and even reviewed the cost of a lab with my approval before implementing this. My little Shoshone was feeling better quicker than I expected! Great place to take your fur family member in an acute emergency situation. Hands own to Dr. Beyea! I am glad that the Duluth area has an emergency vet service for animals that have had an accident of some sort, or have ingested something poisonous. For any other issue, I would NOT use Blue Pearl. On 6/19/2024, I took my cat to Blue Pearl, because she had some blood in her urine and appeared to be uncomfortable. I arrived just after they opened at 4pm, and was told we would be in and out of there within an hour, as we were the first ones there. I had already made an appointment for my cat at our Vet Clinic for the NEXT day (6/20), which we told basically everyone we talked to at Blue Pearl. Long story short, they completed every possible test they could - knowing that I had an appointment the next day which I kept telling them. I was even told that the most responsible thing to do would be to leave her there overnight for observation, which I refused. Long story short, I was charged $1578.79 for our visit to Blue Pearl. This included no remedy for my cat because they did not have an antibiotic for her. So they gave me a prescription to take to Walgreens, where I was scoffed at because they do not dispense meds for pets. When I called to inform Blue Pearl of this, they said to get the Rx filled at our Vet office the next day, thus negating any reason I had to take her to Blue Pearl to begin with. They also couldn't process the urinalysis, so my bill at our Vet the next day was $265.26 making a grand total of $1844.35 to diagnose and get an antibiotic for a UTI for my 6 pound cat. Adding to this is that it took us over 4 hours from start to finish, and we only got out of there in 4+ hours because I finally went to stand at the front counter, asking repeatedly for my bill. Saturday we waited in their parking lot for three hours. told it would be 4 more hours. we live 15 minutes away so were told to go home and they would call when things slowed down. exactly 4 hours later someone called wanting to know why we left. now if we drove back down we would start all over. no guarantees when we would get in. I guess sitting in a car for 7 hours with a sick dog is healthy for it. horrible communication and even worse service. the place has gone downhill since blue pearl took over. corporate America. read more

Our dog got into a pack of gum and ingested an unknown amount of Xylitol. We called Blue Pearl to ask them what our course of action should be, and we were met with a very snotty response from the woman who answered the phone. She dismissed our questions and talked to us like we were stupid. She also claimed she didn't have the ability to answer our questions and that we would need to call a different help line. It was not an appropriate response from someone who is supposed to be representing an emergency vet, and also an inappropriate way to respond to a pet owner in distress. I felt worse after the phone call than I did prior, and we had to seek out care elsewhere. I would not recommend this vet unless there were no other options. read more

HORRIBLY NEGLIGENT ~ brought our dog in with a CLEARLY BROKEN FOOT that flopped over on itself and they sent him home with a pain pill after 8 hours of wait time. We got the dog home and the foot still flops over on itself and we called. Got RUDE responses and told that they had to get back to a surgical patient with a VERY RUDE BYYYYYYEEEEEEEEE.... so now our dog can't move a step and is perspiring from PAIN another 5 hours later. No concern after two calls. 750 for the xray and pills and we will have to bring our pet somewhere else. read more

I drove 60 miles to use this emergency vet center on Saturday. I had used a Blue Pearl veterinary service by the twin cities and knew of their good reputation. Again I wasn't disappointed. They took such good care of my little Axel and I was able to bring him home in about 12 hours with him feeling better after his stomach issues. The staff seem to be so caring and concerned about my pet. I also appreciated that they didn't over order unnecessary tests. I spoke with Dr Hart for discharge instructions and I understood what was done and any aftercare that was needed. By the way Dr Hart, Axel didn't mention the bad hospital food at all. Dr Jonathan DVM is the most compassionate and caring person. My wife's cat was dying from congestive heart disease and she was extremely emotional as Mr Cat was her buddy for 11 years. The entire staff are exceptional and caring. We were met almost instantly and brought to an exam room upon entering with our dying pet. Everything was clearly discussed in regard to our pets difficulties in breathing and heart arrhythmia. And all along the compassionate caring was so apparent And helpful during the loss of our pet. Euthanasia was discussed as Mr Cat was definitely nearing the end of his life and was struggling to breathe. As we all know our pets become members of the family. Dr Jonathan displays such a caring attitude that makes such a difficult situation a little less painful. Thank you all so much. read more

The only reason they have one star is for the fact that they were open at the time I needed them. My dog was hit by a vehicle. On the way to the hospital I called ahead to get my dog pre registered, gave them an EXACT time of arrival and they said they would look for us on their cameras. When we got to the hospital, no one was there to greet us outside. As I walked in to get someone fast, the door was locked and the people behind the desk proceeded to just sit and look at me. I asked for them to bring a stretcher as my dog could not walk and they were hesitant. They finally grabbed the stretcher and came outside at a very slow rate. Mind you my dog was bleeding from his mouth and having trouble breathing and they knew this. Once they got him inside I asked to use their bathroom to clean my hands and they again were hesitant to let me wash my hands. They did not let me inside to be with my dog and left me outside in my car. When the doctor did call he spent more time listening to his own voice talk rather than help my dog. He did not try enough to save my dog and just told me it was a poor prognosis and that I should let him go. I again tried to get inside as fast as I could and with the door being locked and the front desk not alert to me coming in, the doctor called me again and said it got worse within the 30 seconds it took to open the door because he spent more time on the phone rather than helping try to save my dog. I gave him the clear to take away my dogs pain as he was in a lot and trying to fight and he took his time getting things ready. Once things were completed there was only one lady who was sympathetic. They gave me no indication to when I would get his ashes back and I had to call multiple times to get that information. For what they said was "critical and life saving care" was the bare minimum. Would not recommend going here. read more

The entire staff was excellent when we had to have our dog euthanized on July 4. They were all very professional and sensitive to our needs. They told us to stay as long as we needed. Last night, BluePearl literally saved my cat, Eddie's life after it was found that he had an obstruction. The staff was all so very kind, the veterinarians explained everything very well and answered any questions or concerns I had. This past Sunday morning, I called this vet at 6:35am. I had a dog that was diagnosed with renal failure last Oct/Nov 2021. Was doing fairly well being treated for it but this past Sunday morning she woke up not able to stand. Lost control of left side of her body. When I called at 6:30, the person stated to not bring my dog in until 8:30am due to shift change. She said she was the only one there and she couldn't pre-register me as she was restraining an animal alone. I called back to pre register later. Got there at 8:30am. They said they were curb side only and we couldn't come in because rooms were for euthanizing only. Kind of morbid and I didn't like that but what choice did I have? It was fine when we got there. They allowed us to come in. The Vet was ok. Nice and soft spoken but didn't give us much hope. Couldn't tell us what could have happened just that it was upper spinal cord related and that with her being 14 years old and in renal failure, she wouldn't make it through a surgery. My dog was upset. I decided not to leave my dog there. We brought her home so that we could contact our regular vet the next day. The check out staff made the whole visit worth the 4-stars! The discharge people were 5 stars. They offered me MN Pets business card who does in home end of life services. They shared personal stories with me. We're so kind. Helpful. Heart felt. I mean I cannot even tell you how much in this instance that the people/workers made the experience. I get this is the only ER vet so your choice is limited but I really had a decent experience. They gave me some anti-anxiety meds for my dog while we decided what we were gonna do for her. The entire visit was $226 which given the Emergency, was not too bad. I did take the advice of the discharge gal and called MN pets for end of life services as my personal vet couldn't do it on short notice. read more

I'm so pleased with the level of care my little Chihuahua mix received after being attacked by another dog. The staff was courteous, attentive, and caring. Everyone really seemed to have his best interests at heart. We were in and out relatively quickly after some first aid care. My dog is a nervous boy, but he was at ease with everyone who popped into our exam room. The visit was not nearly as expensive as I had expected - $126 for the initial exam fee. I had to take my beloved dog to emergency Saturday night. And no the outcome is not what I wanted. However, the complete staff at the hospital (all that worked with me and it was a few) were so caring and chose their every word so careful as if they felt your pain. We traveled 1 1/2 hours to Duluth, MN to have our dog's broken leg looked at. The staff was very caring and the vet complimented us on the fact that we had splinted his leg for the long journey. We were very pleased with the treatment Oliver received and they way we were treated. The next day, we traveled 4 1/2 hours to the Appleton WI facility so Oliver could have his surgery. Once again we noticed the care and concern that was shown by the staff for both Oliver and us. They even asked if we had a place to stay since we had traveled so far. It was difficult not to be able to go in the buildings but we understand the safety reasons for COVID. The billing department was very helpful in working over the phone with my wife to pay the bill. The staff that answers the phone were very helpful and courteous throughout our numerous phone calls. We would definitely go to Blue Pearl again. We just hope there is no need too! :) read more

The worst experience in my life. The tragedy of my morkie being attacked by a pitbull was only worsened by treatment of staff at blue pearl Duluth. I was walking to my mail box when it happened and was dropped off at blue pearl with dog. No wallet, no phone, nothing. I made too sit outdude on sidewalk covered in blood and bleeding myself from dog bite. It was raining on this Saturday afternoon. They never told me if my dog was dead or alive. They only asked fir money constantly. They wouldn't call me cab or uber because they said it didn't look like i could afford it! I had no phone and they wouldn't let me use theirs. After 3 hours of sitting in the rain night knowing about my dog i was forced to walk to gas station hoping i could call a cab. But after dog attack, sitting in rain fir hours still covered in blood and bleeding they called the cops, ther way i looked i would to. Still not knowing if my dog is alive. I paid $1200 but it wasn't enough thes sent my dog home with nothing not even pain meds, a hole in lung and eye. They giggled when i picked him up and told me he's going to die. Their treatment was worse than the attack! I brought him to Ashland vet clinic and fur $680 they kept him over night, stitched him up and today is doing fine. Thank God fir Ashland vet clinic. I am going to write now an objective review but, also going to write briefly what makes this objective. 1. I was in sales for short time in my younger days and my first period of employment was #1 in sales of 60 people. It was an ego feeding proposition, but was what it is anyway...I read people very well. 2. Psychology was my college major and every upper level specific psychology class was an A- or better. So, we have education and practical first hand experience! Whatever I know....on to the review. We/I had utilized AEVS services in the past when adopting cats that otherwise would have been euthanized. It was a good deal and have no regrets. Some of the cats had a propensity to want to cross the threshold on Sunday's and off to AEVS we scrambled. They were euthanized and on multiple occasions this occurred, the bill was typically 250$+ I paid in full at the time and in to another cat! Forward to now, my own health issues, income decrease substantially, and a cat that has been diagnosed with asthma. I went to AEVS for services again because my cat was needing help. I had 40$ which I paid up front rest was a payment plan; works for me! This was approximately two weeks ago. Two nights at three in the morning having purchased out of pocket (it didn't matter he's worth it) 270$ for just one of the meds he needs I went to AEVS because that med and the others were not working! They refused to provide oxygen for the cat and (this is why I expressed my experience with reading people well) the cvt desiree or krista I'm not quite sure which it was aid that I had not made another payment in that time therefore sorry all the money you spent in the past, you care for the pet, and your willingness to make payments was a mute point! She in a weird way was getting a power trip over this and if her elation had been any higher she probably would have jumped up, kicked her heels, and pissed herself! Seriously pretty bad. It was 3 in the morning I'm half asleep and feeling fairly frightened for my pet. Last comment that is accurate; the DVM Erickson asked if I had given a particular nebulizer to the cat that evening. I said yes, and after his third time him asking the same question I counted...he asked about me giving the med...7 TIMES!!! Wtf, what's that all about! Talk about loop! My God...Also, I had mentioned prior that during one of the sub-zero temps I smoked in my bathroom a cigarette with door closed, fan on, and reclosed upon exit and the DVM Erickson kept saying "You smoked in your house and asking a lot of punitive redundant questions even when I said it was once in the bathroom." It was just a rotten experience. So if your poor, feeling vulnerable and frightened for your pet, and have done anything remotely in error...count on them to let it be known they are superior to you and will let you know repeatedly of any and all foibles' you may express. I gave 2 rather star because if your pet is in danger or need of help...it's the only option available around here and it's better than nothing... No cash no service....even when you've been a very customer in the past and your pet is hurting. That is what they expressed and did... read more

The AEVS Staff was instrumental in caring for our 15 yr old Pug Gypsy -- she was under their care for almost 4 days and their diligence, attention to detail, thoroughness and dedication to their jobs was obvious. The Doctors as well as all of the Techs and Staff welcomed us visiting our girl and always explained things so we understood what was happening at every turn. They insured that she stayed there until they felt it safe for her to go home and she is currently doing amazing. We never know how long we have with her but thanks to them and a few others along the way, we have her with us tonight. We can never thank them enough - they are top notch! Thank you! read more

My boston terrier pug was real sick when i brought him in to the emergancy vet....he had several signs of ketoacidosis diabetes. He had lost 20 pounds in 4 days low body temp. Was breathing as though he was gasing him self throwing up and was clearly not well. The vet had no answers to why he lost the weight was breathing strangley or his body temp. The only concern was how much money i had .she sent the tech. Back into the room 4 different times as to see how much i had .wanting to do 800 dollars in blood work. We left there pay ing 400 for a shot of hydration and my poor little dog suffered thru the weekend what thank god he made it thru. Monday his reg.vet said that this little dog could not be any sicker . He was in his office all of three mins. And he had his blood drawn and insulin in him. It took some time to get him regulated and he mad it thru but no thanks to the emergancy vet. I went back to the buisness and ascked if they really cared about animals there because it seemed to me as they didnt. Then asked if the vetranarian had gone to school to be a vet because if so my little dog displayed several signs clearly noticable signs of keto acidosis diabetes yet there main concern was how much money i had. I ended up being throwen out of the emergancy vet .because they said i had trust issues. I deffinatley did after that experiance. The vet had no answers to my questions yet come mondaymy vet knew instantly from his weight loss his breathing his temp. His smell on his breath all CLEAR signs of diabetes. I just thank god he made it thru the weekend and to our regular compatant and caring vet. no thanks to emergancy vet its a shame ,they are educated vets.yet only care about the dollar. Especialy when they are the only place to bring ur animal after hrs. Unfortunatley i had to visit them a year or so later with my other dog who was defecating blood large amounts . And apoun giving them my name they told me they would not see my dog. Because i had trust issues.UNBIELIVABLE! Absoluetly unbielivable! they sent me away and said he would make it thru the weekend .hadnt looked at him yet said he would be fine. CAN U UNDERSTAND THE REASON FOR MY TRUST ISSUES. i would only recomened the emergancy vet on michagin st. To who ever should be over seeing places like that because clearly they have there m ind soo procupied with dollar signs and there hearts are closed to what they went to school for . I have used there services in the past and they have been really good. My ten year old lab is on steroids to help with his breathing due to throat paralysis and had been lethargic the day before but was still eating. Next morning got up and he refused to eat and was having trouble getting comfortable. This worried me enough to bring him over to the er vet at 6:30 in the morning. Upon arrival I called the number to be let in but was asked repeatedly if this was a life saving issue since they close at 8am. I tried to explain the situation but the only response was the same question. How do I know if it's a life threatening situation I'm not a vet, that's why I'm here. I wouldn't of made the trip there if I didn't think something was seriously wrong. Apparently the company makes so much money that they can turn away a client willing to spend thousands of dollars to have their dog treated. Even just a quick exam by a vet would of been greatly appreciated but was turned away. read more

I was very skeptical about taking my dog here on Christmas morning because I had a horrible, terrible, awful (can you tell it was bad?) experience here about 4 years ago with our other dog. But my dog was lethargic and had been vomiting all morning. I was pleasantly surprised this time. The clinic has a new name - it's actually called Blue Pearl. I found the staff to be very attentive and did not tell me I had to have lots of expensive tests and surgery as they did the last time I was there. My dog received the appropriate supportive care and we were back home in just over two hours. My dog recovered nicely. And they called to check up on her a couple days later. We visited a few days ago after our 9 week old puppy had a bout of drooling, vomiting, and diarrhea. We were scared for him and not sure how serious it was so we called the clinic for advice. They had us come in and from the minute we got there, we felt like we made the right choice. From the greeter, to the vet tech, to the doctor, we felt like our little pup was in good hands. They made sure to let us know estimates on time, the tech was super sweet with him. She gave him lots of love to make it less scary to be checked. Dr Hart was awesome. He was thorough, he listened to our story, asking questions.. and he never made me feel like my questions or concerns were "too dumb" to bring up. I would highly recommend this clinic if your furry friend has an emergency. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Came to emergency vet for pup bleeding from nose at 8pm on a Saturday night - no other place available. Staff quick to check in, extremely friendly, calming, very compassionate, professional & knowledgeable - Fees extremely high - several labs, office visit and a few injections = over 700.00 in a matter of an hour. To their credit, they made you aware of where your responsibility (financially) was at several times along the way so you could say yes or no. I have used another emergency vet in the past and they were excellent too but they weren't open that night, similar issues & that was extremely expensive but a good 300 less than this. The jury is still out on if they made the correct diagnosis and we are returning for additional tests today, but the staff was good, the facility clean and well run and like the fees or not, I am grateful for an emergency vet that is open after hours for emergencies regardless of the price. read more
